HTC Hero :: Received A Prompt To Update 2.1 Over Air?

I have been somewhat lax with my updates on my hero, and have only recently been made aware of the 2.1 android update. i only updated my build number to 2.73.110.91 yesterday, which i had to reinstall the 2.73.110.26 to do so. im under the impression that i should of received a prompt to update to 2.1 over the air? which has not happened. i have tried to /menu/settings/sytem software update, but im told there is no update available.. i have also attempted the 'move the clock forward' trick, but to no avail. have i missed another required update somewhere.

I was running Android 4.4, rooted and CWM installed. Got a notification for 4.4.2 update being ready (like, a week after upgrading to 4.4), and tapped it. Phone reboots into debug mode to install it, but then CWM starts yelling at me saying this zip I'm trying to install is unsigned.
So I stop the upgrade. Phone reboots back into Android 4.4 and I don't get the update notification icon again.
Two questions:
- will I get the update prompt again? if not, can I do it manually while keeping all my stuff like happened on the 4.4 upgrade?
- is the Android 4.4.2 update really unsigned? is there a danger in accepting it?
I'm not sure what to do now since I didn't have CWM flashed when I did the upgrade to 4.4, which went completely smooth.

I'm getting the system update prompt every time I turn on my damn phone; I need to follow the guide that shows you how to keep root when going to 2.2:
Stock 2.1 to Fully Rooted Froyo 2.2
But I probably won't have time to do that until next weekend. In the meantime, is there a way to temporarily disable this update notice?

I've seen these programs and tried one and just looks like a command prompt and i was wondering if one of these programs eliminates having to use the command prompt on my pc.but my next question is how would you use it for commands that requires you to be in recovery?

I use code from http://mobiforge.com/developing/story/sms-messaging-android as reference. I added scrollview and it show the append text upon sms send out. however i have problem append incoming sms text in the same scrollview. how can i solve it? do i need to use thread, service?

I have been having this issue on my Inc, i think some others were also And now google addressed it, and said an update was pushed Google not syncing Email. Not notifications nothing But i dont see any update available. or maybe its server side?

After a few posts about the Droid 2 getting an OTA update from Verizon to fix the syncing problem, I've not heard anyone talking about getting it yet. It changes your version from VZW to FRG22D. Motorola said it's in Verizons hands now, and the CSR at the VZW store said it's being pushed out. But to where? If you have received it on the D2, did it fix the corporate sync issue?

I very unexpectedly received an OTA update today. Currently running 2.1 Leak V3 and was under the assumption from reading posts here that I wasn't supposed to receive anything OTA at all.guess not.I don't want to lose/delay potential root capability and knowing Verizon, there's an HBOOT update in there.Can anyone shed some light?

I still haven't received the update. I'm in the greater Los Angeles, CA area. I also bought the phone when it first came out but that shouldn't matter. Anyone else not receive it yet?
One thing I'm speculating is 'Background Data.' Do I need to leave that on to receive the update? I leave it off and only turn it on when I'm browsing the Market. All I need to leave on is '3G Mobile Network' right? I don't leave it on 24/7 so maybe I was supposed to receive it OTA but my 3G was off.
It's really bugging me that all the people I know that own a crappy Eris already received the update and I'm still sitting here with an expired 1.5 cupcake...

When you go to Settings -> About phone -> System updates, what message are you getting?
Previously (a couple days ago), I was getting a message along the line of "Your device is up to date".
Now, I'm getting this message everytime: "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later."

This morning I had a system update waiting for my on my G1.... It took quite some time to download just like the last update (Cupcake).. now I am having problems loading my phone.
I have the aHome application installed and I use that as my primary operating system (if you can call it that).
Now when my phone restarted after the update downloaded, it keeps giving me errors such as:
"The application aHome (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
The application Messaging (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
These errors repeatedly pop up and will not let any of my desktop load up or will it let me get into the system settings menu.
What should I do?! I've spent too much time customizing my phone for this friggin' update to just come along and destroy it all...

All the pics I receive by MMS are tiny and apparently only 1kb in size. If I 'open' the pic, it can be stretched a bit, but being only 1kb, the resolution is terrible! I am on O2, but don't know if that's the problem?

I have noticed that once I have sent a text I am not getting any tone to let me know that the text has been delivered which is rather annoying as I have to keep on long pressing the text I have sent to "view report". I am getting the Notification tone Hours later after the text has got to the person I sent it to. On all my other phones (I am on 3 Mobile) the tone is straight away once the text gets to the other person.

I am trying to take a phone number from my call log and edit it to be added to a contact without typing it by hand. On my Sprint Katana, when you clicked on the phone number in the call log, you had the choice to edit or append the number. On my Hero, when I press on the phone number, it calls it? Am I missing a step, or not holding the press long enough? I have searched and read as many as come up under a search, but I can't find any that address it from the call log issue.

I get pics and forward messages that I can't view.. Plus I also like to send pics to people. I have 1.5 on my phone on 2.1 is this issue fixed I will risk the trouble just to send pics. I can't find a solution other then going on sprint.com/picturemail and I'm tired of doing that now.

I have used the stock sms, Chomp sms, and handcent sms and they all seem to have the same problem. I can send a pic through them, but when the person responds to the text, its says download, I press that and its unable to DL it says. My friend sent a pic twice on handcent, the same one, and it came through the second time only. Sometimes no pic will work at all. With hancent it resizes automatic, thats great, but still the same issue. Man I love everything about this phone but this is really annoying.

When I receive gmail on the hero it displays everything but the images that are in the gmail. I have it to sync with my gmail account and when I go there the images are there. I cant find a setting on the hero or on the gmail account to fix this.

I've had my Hero since thursday now and its pretty darn brilliant. However I want it to replace my dying ipod touch. The problem is whenever i receive a text the music cuts out for a few seconds and when it resumes its sometimes jumbled and i have to start the song again. Anyone got any ideas on how to solve this?

The update from 1-2 days ago or so, I guess. Now every time the app does it's job, it also gives an additional notice in the notification bar - A triangle with an exclamation point in it letting you know that you missed something. Driving me f'ing crazy! Anyone know how to disable that?...I can't figure it out.
