After a few posts about the Droid 2 getting an OTA update from Verizon to fix the syncing problem, I've not heard anyone talking about getting it yet. It changes your version from VZW to FRG22D. Motorola said it's in Verizons hands now, and the CSR at the VZW store said it's being pushed out. But to where? If you have received it on the D2, did it fix the corporate sync issue?

When you go to Settings -> About phone -> System updates, what message are you getting?
Previously (a couple days ago), I was getting a message along the line of "Your device is up to date".
Now, I'm getting this message everytime: "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later."
I don't know if I just check for updates too often or the auto update doesn't work. I check so often and update it manually that I never give a chance to auto update. Has anyone received an auto update?

One thing I'm speculating is 'Background Data.' Do I need to leave that on to receive the update? I leave it off and only turn it on when I'm browsing the Market. All I need to leave on is '3G Mobile Network' right? I don't leave it on 24/7 so maybe I was supposed to receive it OTA but my 3G was off.
It's really bugging me that all the people I know that own a crappy Eris already received the update and I'm still sitting here with an expired 1.5 cupcake...
It's been over two weeks since the update started rolling out. How long does it take?

I have been somewhat lax with my updates on my hero, and have only recently been made aware of the 2.1 android update. i only updated my build number to 2.73.110.91 yesterday, which i had to reinstall the 2.73.110.26 to do so. im under the impression that i should of received a prompt to update to 2.1 over the air? which has not happened. i have tried to /menu/settings/sytem software update, but im told there is no update available.. i have also attempted the 'move the clock forward' trick, but to no avail. have i missed another required update somewhere.

I didn't find anything exactly like my occurrences, so if it is here, sorry for re-posting the same thing. It appears that when I installed a sound FX app and attempted to use one of the sounds from the downloaded app (scream) as my ringtone and/or notification sound. My phone would restart anytime I would receive a notification that would use the sound (except for phone calls, which reset my ringtone to a default ring?
I reset the sounds to default settings and it hasn't restarted since. I was wondering if anyone knew why this was occurring? I would really like to use this sound effect (at least for awhile). I have went to the developers site and it seems to be an older app for the android market and really no information on the sound FX app there. I put the title "Any notification restarts Droid X" because that is what I was trying to find to resolve the problem I had, and maybe it will be helpful for some one else.
Being that its now 12:01 A.M. here I went to Menu->about phone->System Updates and checked for updates.. Its currently pulling down an update as we speak! It looks like our update has finally arrived! I am non-rooted so Im not sure how you root users are doing!

A few calls are going through but almost ALL are being disconnected back to the previous/home screen after one or two rings -- INCLUDING, now, *611 and *228. Called tech services this morning and am now on hold (15 min. so far!), from a land line. Texts from my family have not shown up, since yesterday and this morning. Did a soft reset this morning.

I guess its just wishful thinking on my part that they might actually be coming out with a fix finally, or better yet 2.1.
Ok, I have 2 accounts on my X - one is a Gmail that I rarely use, and the other is a hotmail account which is frequently used.
I'm coming from Black Berry and I kinda understand that the mail is delivered differently but ever since I set up my hotmail I've received 3 sets of the same messages, read or un-read. Now every time this has happened there has been 1 new unread message, so I assume its when my X syncs with the server. Is there something I can change, or should have done during setup? I'm using the stock email app.

Long story short; got my wife a incredible yesterday, I was at work and she sent me a few pics of our son received them fine. Today she tried sending me pics of our newborn nephew while I was at work and everytime id receive this message "download of message(no subject) was not successful" I had her delete the most recent apps she had downloaded and restart her phone and still same issue.
I had my friends send me picture messages n I received them fine.
This morning I had a system update waiting for my on my G1.... It took quite some time to download just like the last update (Cupcake).. now I am having problems loading my phone.
I have the aHome application installed and I use that as my primary operating system (if you can call it that).
Now when my phone restarted after the update downloaded, it keeps giving me errors such as:
"The application aHome (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
The application Messaging (process mobi.bbase.ahome) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
These errors repeatedly pop up and will not let any of my desktop load up or will it let me get into the system settings menu.
What should I do?! I've spent too much time customizing my phone for this friggin' update to just come along and destroy it all...
I currently have my gmail set to play a tone called "green tunnel" as its notification and my sms to play "life mushroom." Under the main settings tab, the default notification tone is "silent." For some reason when I get a text message, I'm hearing "green tunnel" and "life mushroom" at the same time.
