Would the process just require using the RUU to flash back to stock and waiting for the update? I am currently all the way rooted and running the Cyanogen nightly.

It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?

It supposedly finishes and after it reboots I get stuck @ the Motorola "M" screen indefinitely. After that it wouldn't start up @ all and wouldn't respond to anything. So now I'm attempting an SBF root. Is this the right thing to do?

Froyo is nice however it is not clean. There is so much bloatware on this that i cant wait to get rooted again so i can get rid of all of it.
Has anyone done this yet? Can it be done yet?

View 49 Replies View RelatedI wanted to compare the results of the two different methods of installing this update.I wiped everything by installing the leaked RUU 2 days ago and I must say my phone's performance has significantly improved. My quadrant score went from 525 (stock) to 1365 (after installing the leaked Froyo) neither score was rooted.Scrolling seems much faster and the optical pad is a lot smoother.I'm hearing some people who installed the OTA saying that their phone has been laggy and hangs when scrolling.I've been running the official Froyo for the past 2 days and haven't experienced this.Can we get some feedback from some people who have installed the RUU vs OTA.

View 4 Replies View Relatedim using handscent sms and my timestamps are off by 3 hours they r 3 hours ahead then wut it really is.this is only for the received text the send texts are the correct time is anyone else experiencing this? know with the leaked 2.2, people had the same problem and was fixed with an update from hand scent. has anyone figured a solution to this? this has only happened since yesterday when the official 2.2 froyo was released.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFinally couldn't take it any longer and installed the RUU then hours later I hear that the Official update.zip is slightly different with a change to gmail (and frankly, at this point, who knows what else.) Also I am seeing "make sure you have the correct "baseband"(?) So for me and I would imagine a few others. Can someone make this a nice clean and complete how to get from RUU to update.zip thread? I have seen a lot of bits and pieces of what it takes.

I am rooted and running Fresh. I need to exchange my phone because the mini usb slot on the phone is cracking off. If I do the official 2.1 update will it take me back to stock? I'm sure this is a repeat but I looked for an hour for the answer with no such luck.
