View 41 RepliesWhat is the latest ROM pete has put out? Has he done a BB for the froyo if so a link? Did some searching last night all (I think) I am finding are the OTA ROMs that have come out that he has rooted. Is that all there is, been sitting on 2.1 and decided to make the jump.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs there an Official Rooted Froyo ROM available yet? I need one that is totally original.I have seen a few that are modified but im after a non-modified one.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am rooted and romed with bugless beast 7.5 and have recovery 3b and I just received an official 2.1 update. I though both were suppose to block the update?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've never modded/rooted my Droid X, right. I do the manual update Settings - About - Update or whatever and it updates. It supposedly finishes and after it reboots I get stuck @ the Motorola "M" screen indefinitely. After that it wouldn't start up @ all and wouldn't respond to anything. So now I'm attempting an SBF root. Is this the right thing to do?

Link is fixed and works.
Froyo Update 1 of 2: Another OTA update (FRG22) will be coming soon. In order to install it, you must have the update from this thread (FRG01B) installed first.
View 49 Replies View RelatedMy phone is Running way to hot on this kernal for Pete and I haven't even put O.C. yet the speed is good but is their a way to get like a 800 Mhz Kernal for ESE, b/c haven't found one yet. Thanks....actually I'm not even sure Pete is running a kernal.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor those of you NOT running the Beast or Beauty, Pete's released an update.zip that will install multitouch versions of the browser, maps, and gallery to any 2.0.1 ROM.You'll still need to be rooted, as the update.zip is unsigned, but this bodes well for those running a stock 2.0.1, or perhaps one of AdamZ's ROMs.You know where to find the link, and if you don't, you can check out my blog in my sig!
View 2 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone with 2.1-update, with upgraded baseband, a 1.0ghz kernel, and a bugless beast V1.1 theme. Can I just download a 2.2 froyo rom directly and then be fine? or do I have to do other things when upgrading from 2.1 to froyo?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am currently rooted with 2.1 and have cyanogenmod installed. What is the most painless way to upgrade to 2.2? Should I install it manually and just boot my phone to 2.2? Also, if I do that will i loose all my text, apps, etc.

View 19 Replies View RelatedAll files needed are available on my web site: Android - whiterabbit.org unless you still need to root your phone or downgrade to 2.0.1, the files needed for that will be linked to from those guides. The purpose of installing this way is to use the original OTA updates from Google, and only modify them enough to have root access. When you are done, you will have a system that is capable of installing the next OTA (gingerbread) when it arrives. Hopefully we will be able to patch it in the same way to keep root. This is only for people who don't want to run custom roms, but still want to have root.
View 12 Replies View Relatedi understand a lot of you are busy trying to fix this mess that is the OTA. I for one want to thank all of you that have put in your personal time and hard work to do for this community the things you have done. I also understand you have told everyone that when you do this stuff with your phone there is a risk. That being said what is the best way to go from 2.3.9 to 2.3.15 and stay rooted. I am currently running flyx on my phone as well that i love and i have a black status bar as well not sure if this makes a difference. Thank you for your help.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if I go ahead and get the OTA Froyo 2.2 when it comes out, am I going to be sol on getting the rooted version if I decide to later?
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I rooted my droid about 2 months ago. I have Bugless Beast V0.4 and I used SPRecovery. No joke, but as soon as I rooted, I got the official Froyo update from VZW. I clicked on install and it took me to recovery mode ( i think that's what it's called) and I just clicked on "reboot now" and my phone stayed rooted. Now I'm getting the Froyo update message about once a week (since then) and each time I just "reboot" the phone. Well today I got a text from VZW saying that my droid was sent the Android 2.2 update and to click for more info. What do I do and/or how do I stop the updates from coming? I love the way my droid is right now and do not want to change it.!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI rooted my Android Motorola Droid X. I've heard mixed reviews about whether or not I can upgrade when the update comes out to Froyo or if I have to set my phone back to root. I used the easy root tool to root my phone but if I need to put it back is there an easy unroot program? Or do I not need to worry about the rooting.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI dont want a custom ROM, just the normal 2.2. Is it out there yet to be force upgraded to my rooted Droid yet?
View 10 Replies View RelatedIm looking around the board and it seems people are running 2.2? Do I need to be rooted to do so? Is rooting still dangerous? Is there a way to root without a computer? Whats froyo? Is 2.2 officially out? Flash player?
View 13 Replies View RelatedIf i am rooted, how do i get the new froyo 2.2 update with flash 10.1? Here goes my rooted phone info:
Firmware Version:
2.1
Baseband Version:
C_01.3E.03P
Kernel Version:
2.6.29-omap1-bekit-0.8.3-7x1100SV
Build Number
Bugless Beast V1.0
Thats the phone info, so im just wondering how the update would work for me?
My phone is rooted and running 2.2 via download. Froyo is great but I have been waiting for the Flash update like everyone else.
Got the notice this morning on my phone that an OTA update was ready to install and asked if I wanted to proceed. Unit was fully charged and connected via WiFi.
Clicked "proceed" and the phone rebooted. On startup, it went to the boot screen that I used in the root process, and the bottom line said something like "upgrade aborted." Clicked reboot to get the phone usable and see what's what.
Now Settings>About Phone says Android 2.2, Build number FRG01B by Pete. The only "update.zip" file on the SD card is one from the root process. "System updates" says "Your system is currently up to date."
Looks like nothing happened.
Has rooting my phone precluded the possibility of an OTA update?
(If I had known that rooting my phone would prevent OTA updates I would not have done it.)
How can I get the OTA update to run? Where are the update files loaded? What do I do now?
Picked up a Milestone today, firmware is 2.1 update 1, build number shols_u2_02.31.0. I just wanna check I've got an official firmware version on board and not a rooted version, so I can get the official updates when released. Anyone know how to check the details?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running a droid x currently unrooted (but have been rooted since 2.1).
I have rooted every install of 2.2 except for my current one (for testing purposes).
The problem is that every two or so weeks ever since installing the 2.2 OTA I have to do a factory reset in order for my 3G internet to work on the phone.
Let me explain the symptoms. Randomly the phone will refuse to finish loading webpages or market items over 3G. Sometimes after waiting a real long time or clicking a lot it will load the pages... but sometimes it will not. The internet still functions fine on the phone over wifi connection, and here's the real surprise: I can tether my laptop via both wireless tether and barnacle I get full speed on the computer even though on the phone it won't load. It always ends up taking a factory reset before it will work again.
I have 3G and my signal bars are fine.
I have been trying to figure this out for weeks. Here are the things I've tried so far:
-Cycle phone off and on multiple times.
-Cycle wifi and airplane mode multiple times.
-Multiple battery pulls.
-Clear cache and force close every application and service known to man.
-Uninstall various applications to see if they are causing problems.
-Remove SU privileges from different/all root apps.
-Try different browsers.
-*228 both options 1 and 2
-Repair privileges.
I have done a facory reset with froyo 4 times now. Each time within 2-12 days the problem returns and I can't fix it without a reset. The last three times I've reset I have gone through the whole process skipping every option to install accounts etc. as recommended to many guides.
My unbranded SGS is currently running 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6) which I updated via the registery hack last month. It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any difference because i noticed that there are a couple bugs(swype is a little erradic, missing apps). So is there a difference and also will i be able to update to the official froyo if already on the leaked version?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI rooted my phone recently and installed the leaked 2.2 update.I ran Unrevoked as well as Unrevoked Forever, so I have S-OFF on my phone.I want to now put the official 2.2 release on my phone, while of course keeping my root.It would be best to keep my data on there, but if I have to run a Titanium backup and restore once it's installed, that's okay too.I just need to know the process to do this and where to get the update.I am running the leaked 2.2 Froyo update from May and I have the 2.05.00.06.11 radio.
