I believe this feature is present and enabled in some of the cooked roms and also in the Nexus one Vanilla 2.2 so why not here?If I have missed somthing simple or if anyone is aware why it is missing or how I can activate it that would be fantastic!

Its not going direct to Orange but the online retailer I got it off, could I just act stupid or something?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've uploaded a pre-rooted version of HTC's latest ROM. This is basically stock with root, except I've disabled the annoying boot sound. It includes radio 5.09.05.30_2.To install you must be rooted with custom recovery. A full wipe shouldn't be necessary if you're currently on an official rom, since this isn't modified from stock. Do a nandroid backup before you install. There's no changelog from 2.09.405.8, but I've noticed my GPS problems went away.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a unbranded HTC Desire. I'm still on 2.1 which I rooted 3 months ago. I'm wondering on updating to froyo and keep root. I'm not interested in any custom rom's, I like stock one. The only thing I rooted at first is to install my app's on SD instead of internal memory. My device specs are:
Os: 2.1-update1
Baseband: 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11
Sw: 1.15.405.4
HBOOT: 0.75.0000
Just updated mine today certainly not as polished as the official 2.1 but there is hd recording and a flash update but im struggling to find things like the weather clock or the official calendar and widgets for saving on my home screens is anyone else having similar problems?
Also i cant change what keypad i use for the phone it gives me the 3 options but never changes even though i select diff.
Received the upgrade from Telstra Australia today for my Desire. I'm not very good with the tech and software side of things (quite a dunce really) and have looked for a guide as to what to do prior to installing the update and also once completed. Is anyone able to steer me in the right direction as to where a good guide is or maybe a few pointers. My phone isn't rooted and is not something I want to gamble with being not techsavvy.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to go back to stock so they can get the official froyo rom. Why exactly?
- you may never be able to root again
- stock froyo apps2sd is very bad comparedto rooted a2sd+
- rooted roms based on the stock froyo rom will be faster and more stable than stock
Yesterday, I finally decided to root my phone and flash an android 2.2 'with Sense' ROM. I followed this guide: How To: Install Froyo On An HTC Desire | I Can Has Pi?
I used the 2.2 Sense ROM recommended by the guide. Everything was going really well, but once the proses was over I saw some things that instantly made me wish I had never bothered rooting:
-I have a VERY low internal memory; no room for half my backed-up apps, no room for SMS, no room to take a low resolution photo(let alone 720p video!), and not even room to browse my photos or music(I know-weird...)!
-Some apps (like the HTC MOD keyboard with voice input) simply don't work.
-Slow boot and load HTC Sense.
-Programs force-close very often, as dose HTC Sense.
There are some good things in this ROM (like a slight increase in performance) but really, the bad outweighs the good- especially with the low storage, considering that the main reason I rooted was to get more space for apps!
I don't know what to do now. Is there a solution within the ROM I'm using at the moment? Or did I just use a crappy ROM. Which can you recommend (Froyo w/Sense)? Unrooting seems quite easy, or is that dumb now that I've gone through the trouble of rooting? I can't be without receiving SMS for much longer!
Hubby has a sim free Desire bought about 3 months ago from ebay.
I debranded my own desire with the goldcard method, and then using the unrevoked method i rooted my phone.
Hubby updated his Desire over the air to 2.2
Has an easy method to root this 2.2 update been created yet.
Didn't mind taking a chance with my phone, but not with someone elses!
My unbranded SGS is currently running 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6) which I updated via the registery hack last month. It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?
View 5 Replies View RelatedIs there any difference because i noticed that there are a couple bugs(swype is a little erradic, missing apps). So is there a difference and also will i be able to update to the official froyo if already on the leaked version?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust wondering which kernel - in terms of performance and battery life would be the best to use with teppics rooted stock froyo rom.
I'm currently using this kernel with the sd card read fix and gpu+ fix but I'm wondering if theres something thats better in terms of performance and battery life.
Desire Kernel for Teppic74's ROM - xda-developers
I've heard many good things about richards v5 kernel but I don't want to OC or do anything crazy. I just need the sd card read fix... maybe the gpu+ fix and no OCing as I do want to keep my battery life as is.
I rooted my phone recently and installed the leaked 2.2 update.I ran Unrevoked as well as Unrevoked Forever, so I have S-OFF on my phone.I want to now put the official 2.2 release on my phone, while of course keeping my root.It would be best to keep my data on there, but if I have to run a Titanium backup and restore once it's installed, that's okay too.I just need to know the process to do this and where to get the update.I am running the leaked 2.2 Froyo update from May and I have the 2.05.00.06.11 radio.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI updated to the official (rooted) version of Froyo and tried to reinstall Sling player but it's just not on the market. My wife can find it on her 2.1 handset but I can't. Is there a reason for this that I'm not privy to? Will the backed-up copy work?
View 4 Replies View RelatedAs it says above really. I've rooted to the new Froyo with sense release (seems slow but stable) and all was well until I restored with mybackup pro. Some apps were missing even though they showed as installed and even so, I've got A LOT less internal memory than before and I'm still having to uninstall stuff
I thought Froyo was supposed to let you install apps to SD?
I would like to know how many people are useing froyo non-rooted and rooted.I'm tyring to diside on what should i do?I also looking for advice on if i install Froyo Rooted, what can i do with it? and install on it?

Is there any way at all for me to run skype?
I am getting calls going straight to voicemail with no missed calls on my phone, when I have full signal, so orange have (after a lot of calls) agreed to terminate my contract. I have to return my phone (shame I could not keep it for free!) and have rooted my phone, and installed the modaco ROM.
I want to return it with an orange ROM, and was wondering if I can just install the updated orange ROM on my phone over the top of the modaco, and has anyone done this successfully? From reading around I am assuming that this would hide the fact that I have ever rooted or installed a custom ROM, as I want to be back on warranty?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've never modded/rooted my Droid X, right. I do the manual update Settings - About - Update or whatever and it updates. It supposedly finishes and after it reboots I get stuck @ the Motorola "M" screen indefinitely. After that it wouldn't start up @ all and wouldn't respond to anything. So now I'm attempting an SBF root. Is this the right thing to do?
View 13 Replies View RelatedAnyone know when the official Froyo update will be out for the DX?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOK, some of us have the OTA update, and some of us got the update by downloading the update.zip (I downloaded the update from here.)
Froyo is nice however it is not clean. There is so much bloatware on this that i cant wait to get rooted again so i can get rid of all of it.
Has anyone done this yet? Can it be done yet?
Be advised that this is the first version of 2.2 stages. Look how fast the phone is. New widgets and all. I'm glad I didn't get that i4. Samsung Galaxy S gets official Android 2.2 Froyo ROM leak

View 49 Replies View RelatedWould the process just require using the RUU to flash back to stock and waiting for the update? I am currently all the way rooted and running the Cyanogen nightly.
