Picked up a Milestone today, firmware is 2.1 update 1, build number shols_u2_02.31.0. I just wanna check I've got an official firmware version on board and not a rooted version, so I can get the official updates when released. Anyone know how to check the details?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have posed this question in some threads but as yet have made no progress.I am just curious as to why HTC appear to have left out the Bluetooth Voice Dialler function that can be provided by the Froyo 2.2 O/S. I believe this feature is present and enabled in some of the cooked roms and also in the Nexus one Vanilla 2.2 so why not here?If I have missed somthing simple or if anyone is aware why it is missing or how I can activate it that would be fantastic!

View 16 Replies View RelatedEver since putting a Froyo ROM on my Incredible, I've not been able to get my secondary gmail account to function properly. No automatic syncing from the phone to the cloud. I sometimes will get message pushed out to the phone but not all the time.
I've seen reports that a official OTA for the Evo came out last night that has fixed this gmail problem for them. So I'm wondering if it is possible for someone to get the gmail application off of the OTA release and then allow it to be installed on an Incredible running some version of Froyo.
Is there a website I can check to see what the latest versions should be when I go to About Phone > Software Information, assuming stock everything and only official OTA updates? I just want to see if I'm current on everything, although I think I am since my phone came with Froyo.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI recently got a brown Hero from Carphone Warehouse on Vodafone (30, 300 mins, unl.txt & data, 24 months) and I'm over the moon with it. I'm so glad I didn't do what all the sheep in my office have done and get an iphone.
I had read that the Hero is pretty laggy but a firmware update would sort it out. It does lag sometimes, yeah but no big deal. I thought I'd still get the firmware update though, so I've been checking out the best way to do it. Here's the problem: On the HTC download page the generic ROM upgrade is v.2.73.405.5, but I'm already running 2.73.405.66, so I didn't install it. The 3UK users though get to download 2.73.771.73, but with my serial I can't get it.
How much difference do the firmare updates make? How can I get the latest one? I'm feeling a bit gutted that only 3 and Orange are getting properly supported by the folks at HTC. Why not support the other networks in this way?
Connected my Galaxy S to Kies for the first time last night to check for firmware updates. It says I'm running JM3 and that there are no newer versions available. Just wanted to check that that is actually the latest version? Also, only one of my contacts (in phone memory) shows up in Kies.

It's running smooth and I've not had any problems My question is, what is the difference between my existing version and the 'offical' Froyo 2.2 that will be released soon? Would I be able to update my firmware to the newer version since I'm already on 2.2 (I9000XXJPM, FROYO.XWJP6)?

I have a stock ADP, firmware 1.0, no updates no mods and of course I want to get the latest features such as voice control, latitude etc, and so begins the fun. Why is there nothing official that can be easily found which states what is going on for people that own the ADP? I must have read dozens of articles showing update procedures and claiming to have leaked OFFICIAL developer updates and only recently did i find 2 thread that eventually end with something stating there is NO official update for developer phones yet.
I have 2 gripes about this:
1. Why no official and clear statement from the development team to clarify this before people start scrambling desperately to install leaked versions that are false? (I know I almost did) 2. Why as a developer do I have to wait for features that are already available to end users?
Is Samsung going to keep up the promise?

I bought LG VU II (F200L) in perfectly working condition, it almost new. After installing LG PC suite and connecting it said new firmware update is available so I proceeded which was done successfully but since then touch screen is not working properly.
Usually it responds ok but main issue is back button is not working anymore, and sometimes when I press power button to unlock screen it responds very weird and not so responsive as well as sometimes doesnt responds or opens apps that I havent even clicked.
I tried to restore, emergency restore, LG Flash tools and used correct KDZ files to flash roms successfully but nothing seems to resolve this issue.
I've already tried to get the cert by visiting the url (but apparently my web browser already trusts the cert) so I'm not sure how to get a copy of it to add to my cacert/jssecacert which seems to be the only solution I can find on the internet. I've tried running the android sdk and avd manager from inside eclipse and from the command line no dice same problem both times.
