I just got my EVO yesterday and so far I'm loving it. My only questions is, what is the best way to go about syncing with my computer (music, pics, movies, etc.)?I tried doubletwist last night but didn't really care for it. Is there a better program? Should I just drag and drop?

I just got my Desire the other day and love it. I am trying to get some music off my computer but cant find a program to do it with. I Thought just hooking my phone up would work but no that lucky.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just bought my HTC Hero a few days ago and just found this forum as well. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to sync my phone to my computer. I didn't get any CD with it. I am also wondering if I hard reset my phone back to factory default, will all the apps, etc that were there out of the box, still be there? If I can sync with my computer, can I put my contacts back on from my computer? And, finally, there is a "notice" type "bell" sound every so often on my phone, but I have checked messages and phone calls as well as email, plus there are no notifications at top...what might it be? Thanks for your help. Hope I haven't posted something that has been talked about a million times before.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSaw some discussion on this on the Hero forum here, and one mention on the HTC forum, but no conclusive answers. I cannot get HTC Sync to work on my computer. I am running XP SP3. I have downloaded the latest version of HTC Sync. I disable my anti-virus and firewall and install, and it reports it installs correctly, but that it will not run and it will not recognize the phone.
I read that it's a "known issue" with McAfee, but don't see a workaround or any detailed threads.Anyone running McAfee and get it to work?
I usually use Evernote but am seriously disappointed with the lack of offline notes. Anyone have a better solution that will allow syncing between my computer the web and my phone?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an urgent problem with my desire and would appreciate any help. My desire is not detecting my computer when I connect the USB, I connect it and it begins charging instead of asking me about the connection type. As I was puzzled and thought this was very strange, I checked the "connect to PC" settings only to find out the "ask me" option was indeed enabled . When I connect the USB to the computer it begins charging and displays "USB" on battery status, but it does not actually detect the computer, nor does the computer detect the phone (even when I change the default connection type to "disk drive" it continues on charge mode). Has anyone any clue as to what is wrong with my desire? I am very confused because as I said, I select the "ask me" option but it does not "ask me", I really want to fix this as it means I cannot sync music onto it, any ideas?
View 19 Replies View RelatedNot sure where to put this one folks but here goes. I loaded HTC Sync to my PC the other day and ever since the hourglass pops up about every 4-5 seconds on my computer. It's like there's a process that keeps starting up and shutting down and it's screwing with my PC like no other. Well, using Task Manager, I was finally able to track it down to a process called "FsynSrvStarter.exe". Took me forever to figure it out b/c it only displayed for a fraction of a second, then disappeared again. Once I got enough the name to do a Google search, I found a few forums where it had been identified as a glitch within the HTC Sync software. I had just done a Windows update and was attributing it to that!
Bottom line, I had to uninstall HTC Sync in order to rid my machine of the problem which was fine b/c I really loaded it for the drivers anyway. Just wanted to get this out there for others who might be experiencing this issue. I'm not sure if it's specific to Windows version or not but I'm running XP32 SP3.
I no longer have the original sd card with the hot sync software. I had to reset my phone and the sync wouldn't work. I uninstalled the hot sync from my computer not realizing the software was on the sd card. Is there another way to get the software downloaded to my computer.

I have a 32 gig micro sd card in my Galaxy s4 mini and I am curious what program I can use to Map "My pictures" and folders on my PC with sub folders of pictures to sync with my Galaxy s4 mini but then periodically sync to the device weekly to ADD or Delete photo's that have changed since last sync.
I'm constantly adding photos to My Pictures on my PC and I don't want to simply Drag and Drop the 32gig every night, I just want to look for changes and add what is New.
Since installing the OTA froyo update I cannot use windows media sync with my computer anymore. I am using windows XP and when i plug the phone into my laptop it comes up as a digital camera and will not show up in windows media player as a device to sync with.

It took a while but I did eventually figure it out.But now I'm having a very strange problem. I'm unable to mount the phone when I connect it to my computer.The problem is whenever I plug the phone into the computer the phone doesn't recognize a USB connection.So I can't go in and tell it to mount. The weird part is that if I just plug the phone into the wall to charge that's when I get the USB notification that I've connected to a USB.Somewhere my phone has mixed the two inputs up.

I also cant download from the Market, the download appears to start & says 'Starting download' but never progresses, i assume this could be to do with the sync not working.
I'm implementing my own sync adapter and everything works great. A strange i'm having is that after the sync is over, the Android still shows the sync icon (the one with the rounded arrow) in the account activity, and that someone (i guess its the account manager) repeatedly calls the sync again and again, every 30 to 60 seconds. Now i tried all sort of things to test this issue and i have discovered something strange. In my code, i do resolver.applyBatch every 50 new rows. (each new contact i sync has about 5 rows). If i remove the applyBatch (which means i retrieve the data from the next, sort it and prepare it, but never "commit" it) - the problem goes away. The icon disappear and the account manager never calls it again on its own (I'm using Android 2.1). I must also state that no exception is being thrown in any of the cases and that all the methods finish gracefully.
