Android :: Frame Animation Or Movie File For Short Interactive Movie Application
Jul 22, 2010In a nut shell, when the app is loaded, it will play a short movie (maybe a few seconds at most @ 12-24fps). I will then have 2 buttons displayed on the screen, and depending on what button is pressed, it I will play another short movie (5-10 seconds). While waiting for the user to make a decision, the movie will be looping.
The movie source is stop-motion photography so it's already chopped up into frames. My question here is if I should use a Frame Animation technique, or if I should use a Movie player for this. All in all perhaps there's less than 100 still frames that make up the stop-motion. I was going to go the Frame Animation route, but I wasn't sure if having so many individual frames would kill the app so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any insight.

Oct 26, 2010Ok so I have converted movie from mkv to mp4 using handbreak and placed it in new folder, connected Desire to PC using HTC Sync, added this folder so it syncs with phone, press Sync Now. But after sync I still haven't uploaded anything to phone. It's looks like it syncs everything to pc but I cant sync to phone. Why so? How to get movie to phone?

Jul 9, 2010I'm on 2.2 bugless beast .4 right now. Tonight I was transfering a movie to my phone via usb. Long story short, I needed to cancel the transfer in the middle and remove my phone. Now my phone is freezing like mad, and I absolutely can't connect to my computer (not to mention that freezes it completely.) Removing the SD card seems to help, but not much. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

I also don't see an option in menu section for video or movie? With my samsung it was easy, as the PC studio software left you drag and drop movies in, it converted them, and then went straight into the phones movie folder. Desire seems very different?

Jul 19, 2010I bought my Captivate and am a Android convert from Iphone and many Windows Mobile devices. So far I like the phone and the app store however am annoyed I can't get outside android programs to load.I have seen the sticky on this but am leery to attempt it.In the meantime I have some questions.
1. Is there a regular way most people use to move their movie files over to this phone? I tried doubleTwist, however I have selected just one folder and it grabs everything in all media folders and I have deselected looking at Windows Media Player and Itunes so this is causing me much frustration. Is there an easier way?
2.I just realized that the phone doesn't utilize an alarm clock feature. I know this is very minor, I am assuming there is an app for that.
3.Any advice an a good ebook reader for this phone?
I know I have more, but I'll stop here for now. The syncing part is just driving me nuts!

Something about having to use droid sync on my computer and telephone. I downloaded HTC Sync onto my computer and cannot figure out for the life of me how to use the thing. Nov 4, 2010edit: This has now sorted itself out. Dont know why it didnt work when it said it was syncing before. maybe it didnt like the number of contacts involved and only wanted to do it on its own 3 hours after i asked. I am unable to get all my gmail contacts onto my desire. I have a gmail account setup on the phone, syncing is set to automatic and the gmail account has all options ticked for syncing. Even after i run a manual sync it does not retrieve all my gmail contacts (people is completely empty, and 'view' is set to only show gmail contacts)I know its possible because i had them on there before. I removed them from the phone as there were lots of duplicates after merging with my phones contacts. These duplicates all got sent up to gmail and so i removed everything from the phone in order to tidy it all up on gmail with the intention of then re-importing them from gmail. But it will not get anythying from gmail now.

Aug 30, 2010After three years of iPhones, I'm all set with that ecosystem and I want to move on the Android. I followed the Rachel UI since it was demoed last fall and have had an interest every since. Now that the phone is finally in the US I have a couple of questions:
1. Why is AT&T's No Commitment Pricing $349.99 while Sony Style's is $499.99? Neither price involves a new contract or extension.
2. I've read something about Android devices on AT&T being limited in terms of apps. Does that mean I can only install apps from the Marketplace? If that's the case, is it that big of a deal? I've never felt the need to jailbreak my iPhone, for what that's worth.
3. Other there any other downsides to getting the AT&T phone over a import/unlocked model?
4. Anything else an iOS convert should know?
I've poked around on these (and other) forums but couldn't really find black and white answers to my questions.

But some other packages can be imported. I don't know why. I think all this packages should be included in the SDK.
