Ok so I have converted movie from mkv to mp4 using handbreak and placed it in new folder, connected Desire to PC using HTC Sync, added this folder so it syncs with phone, press Sync Now. But after sync I still haven't uploaded anything to phone. It's looks like it syncs everything to pc but I cant sync to phone. Why so? How to get movie to phone?

I have .avi movie files on my PC. I want to put them onto my desire and watch them. I don't know how to do this from start to finish, can some please explain each step and where to put the files on the phone memory, as I dont see a movie folder?
I also don't see an option in menu section for video or movie? With my samsung it was easy, as the PC studio software left you drag and drop movies in, it converted them, and then went straight into the phones movie folder. Desire seems very different?
MY question and problem is that when I watch my movies, the sound is a half second out of sync with the movie. Anyone experience this? It makes no difference which player I use. I've used 3 different converters for the movies I have and that doens't seem to matter either. I used to watch most of my movies on my, forgive the language, on my Palm (Gasp) and they worked fine there.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIn a nut shell, when the app is loaded, it will play a short movie (maybe a few seconds at most @ 12-24fps). I will then have 2 buttons displayed on the screen, and depending on what button is pressed, it I will play another short movie (5-10 seconds). While waiting for the user to make a decision, the movie will be looping.
The movie source is stop-motion photography so it's already chopped up into frames. My question here is if I should use a Frame Animation technique, or if I should use a Movie player for this. All in all perhaps there's less than 100 still frames that make up the stop-motion. I was going to go the Frame Animation route, but I wasn't sure if having so many individual frames would kill the app so I thought I'd post here to see if anyone had any insight.
Is there a movie player that will play the movie in full screen capacity instead of wide screen or only a small part of the screen?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been having a few issues with movie playback, a lot of my stuff (100+ dvd encodes) was encoded when I had my iPhone(s) so uses the h.264 codec 640x320 (ish) resolution, the problem I'm having is that large movie files i.e. 2GB and above don't play, yes I have a few at over 2GB - uber long movies.. Is there a size limit in force here?? Android or HTC based??

However, I am not able to find the particular forum thread helping me out.I just got my HTC Desire yesterday and managed to get my contacts on my gmail-account (in the internet). So far so good. My contacts are "safe" in my google-mail-account and I was able to export them as cvs.Now, on my HTC Desire they actually show up, if I choose "people" -> "menu and view" -> "Google".In the list of "view" I can also see my SIM Card (which says its empty and that is correct) and "Phone" which is empty as well. Please correct me if I am wrong:From what I think I see my contacts are on my internet googlemail account only and my phone is connecting to the internet to get them.But that is not I would want. I would want my contacts being synced between my phone (which is not necessarily connected to the internet all the time) and my internet google-mail account.Now, is there a way to bring those contacts on my phone (using the on board tools) so I can use them "offline" or am I misunderstanding the menu and the contacts are already "offline" on my phone marked as "Google" contacts?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using an HTC Desire on Froyo and version 3.0.5422 of HTC Sync. It all installed fine, I connected by USB, and selected HTC Sync as the connection on my phone. Then I went to sync an iTunes playlist onto my 32gb Kingston SD Card. It started then an 'Unknown Error' occurred. My SD Card was then unmounted in the phone, with a notification at the top. I rebooted the phone, and it was still unmounted. So I popped the cover, took out battery and card and tried again.

Anyone else having 'issues' with HTC Sync?
I had been using HTC Sync successfully to sync my calendar items and haven't used it for a week or two and now all of a sudden when I connect my phone via usb to my laptop, its searching for ages and then comes up with "unable to find HTC Sync on your PC". HTC Sync is def open and installed on my laptop. Any advice on what it could be? I've powercycled the phone and laptop. changed the usb port can't think of anything else.

Long story short, I needed to cancel the transfer in the middle and remove my phone. Now my phone is freezing like mad, and I absolutely can't connect to my computer (not to mention that freezes it completely.) Removing the SD card seems to help, but not much. Anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this?

I cannot get it to work though I am using all the settings that our IT department has given me. The setup keeps saying, check your Exchange account settings. I am not even able to connect to the mail server. I am using Wi-Fi and I have a network connection so there is no problem with that part. The dialogue box that appears when I do this shows the date in MM-DD-YYYY format. I've checked all the settings that I can find, and I'm sure they're all set to UK/British. If I delete from the device it sometimes does not remove them from my outlook and viceversa. Has anyone else got this phone connected to an exchange 2003 server SP2 ? My desire is not detecting my computer when I connect the USB, I connect it and it begins charging instead of asking me about the connection type. As I was puzzled and thought this was very strange, I checked the "connect to PC" settings only to find out the "ask me" option was indeed enabled . When I connect the USB to the computer it begins charging and displays "USB" on battery status, but it does not actually detect the computer, nor does the computer detect the phone (even when I change the default connection type to "disk drive" it continues on charge mode). Has anyone any clue as to what is wrong with my desire? I am very confused because as I said, I select the "ask me" option but it does not "ask me", I really want to fix this as it means I cannot sync music onto it, any ideas?

Find my old phone - copy the contacts to my desire sim - put the sim back in desire - sync with googlemail - adapt EVERY name because they changed to surname 1st - then delete some of the duplicated numbers - save - sync back to phone? Now i have done this do I need to Import to SD - Import from SD - Export to SD - or do nothing, I dont want to end up with bloody duplicates/lost numbers again.
