Aug 2, 2010The reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. What is going on here? I have lookout AVP app loaded and running at all times.List on my runnng apps on EVO:

I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.

The so called "default video player" has been uninstalled though. Have cleared cache, clear defaults, clear data for the browser but still do not get a prompt to choose a video player while playing videos from the browser.
Also installed the "Default App Manager" to check for the default video player. However, it indicates no defaults to play any videos (either from file or streaming videos).
(If I play a stored video from phone or SD card, I do get the prompt to choose a video player. But do not get a prompt if playing any video in the browser.)

I have managed to establish a connection between the android and the computer, and to record a video on the android phone. My problem is, how will I be able to send this video to the computer? My husband has an Instict and sent me a 20 second video of our daughter and when I tried to open it, I got a photo that said "Video too large to view on this device". The video is not that large so I'm not sure what's up.Is there anyone else that is having this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? Jul 22, 2010I was trying to use VideoView to play a Video from the SD card, but the only thing working properly is its audio, while I see the first frame of the video which doesn't play on and after a few seconds the Error message "Cannot play video - Sorry, this video cannot be played" appears. Nov 20, 2010I am doing a video based course, and what is infuriating about playing video on my Android is that you have to watch each segment (up to 40 minutes) in one go, as the next time you play the clip it will restart and fast forward does not work (it forwards for less than a second and then jerks back). What would be really handy would be if I could put a bookmark every time I have to stop the video file (such as when I have to get off my train), and return to the same place the next time I open it. Is there any app that can do this? I will pay for one that works.

Android :: Cannot Playback Video From Internal Storage - Data-data-com.myapp-some-folders-video.mp4
Aug 4, 2010I have an application with a lot of media data (images and videos) that were previously stored on the sdcard. With that, images and videos are displayed fine in my app.
Now, in order to secure the content more, I wanted to move the content to the internal storage / data dir of the app, which I did. I copied all media with a routine within my app to the data folder (/data/data/com.myapp/some/folders/video.mp4) and adjusted the path in my app so that it would look for the media in the internal storage data directory and not the sdcard anymore.
Everything works fine, images are being displayed (decoded) properly, but videos don't play. They files do exist though - I do not get a FileNotFound exception. But an IOException: java.io.IOException: Prepare failed.: status=0xFFFFFFFC
Why is that? Everything is handled within my one app and the videos have been copied with the same routine as the images, thus having the same permission settings. Looking at the stack trace, it all runs in process id 18060).
Why I cannot playback the video from internal storage? Or how can I?

May 3, 2010I know this is not a big deal but it is still bothersome. When I try to run video while on Yahoo's site I get message "Cannot play video - Sorry this video cannot be played." I have no issues with ESPN, Cnet, etc. I'm able to run these yahoo videos on my wife's Eris with 2.1 (v.3).
Anyone know how to deal with this issue?
