View 6 Repliesevery time I make a call, receive a call, turn the phone off, turn the phone on, loose service or gain service, a voice says "Verizon Wireless". This is very annoying and I can't seem to figure out how to turn it off. Changing ring tones and such does not work, still says "Verizon Wireless". Is there anyway to turn this off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI wrote about this earlier, I had an issue when making a call the screen stays off and I cannot access the keypad or anything while on a call when I remove the phone from my ear. I had this happen again today, but noticed it went away when I took the call indoors. This seems to be an issue when I make a call outdoors, maybe it is the bright sunlight, but the screen refuses to come back on when i am on a call outside. I had to use the keypad to make selections on a call today but was unable to since the screen stayed off. Have others noticed this happening in bright light calls outside? Also, what can be done to correct this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedSo when I'm on a call, during the call I keep hearing an ongoing Beeep in the background. It's loud, distracting, and annoying. This began happening after the 2.2 update. Otherwise, everything is working ok. It's possibly a timer, or something, how can I shut if off...
View 18 Replies View RelatedNot sure how to fix this, but several times when I make a call and try to end it, the screen stays off and I cannot hit the END CALL button. This has happened a few times when I dialed the wrong number and wanted to just end the call before it connected, but when I flipped the phone back over from my ear it stayed off and the call kept going. Also, sometimes it will flash on for an instant then go back off again, still cannot end the calls.
View 45 Replies View RelatedI would like to intercept outgoing calls and pass them to a VOIP application. I see that the Google Voice application has a feature for displaying a question before each call is actually initiated. It provides the user with the choice:
Initiate call via Google Voice
Initiate call via standard call
I would like a way to do something similar with my application (so that not all calls have to be routed through it). At the moment, I can intercept CALL events via a BroadcastReceiver, however, these are not allowed to open dialogs (thus making it possible to display the choice).
What is the best way of achieving this goal?
I have two questions:
1) Before the update, there was a sound that indicated when the call was ended. Anyway to get that back?
2) Has anyone figured out a way to change the end button behavior that was previously controlled by the Spare Parts app? I would like to end button to go home and then go to sleep but Spare Parts can't do it under the new software. Any ideas?
Anyone one else's phone makes a one little vibration a second after pressing "call" button?
Maybe its like "careful, your about to talk to someone" vibration ?
I am a total newbie in Android and want to develop an application which need to make phone call using the API. I googled around and find that the open SDK didn't support making phonecalls. All the function required to make phone call have been put inside com.android.internal.telephony, which is an internal APIs.I just wonder if there is any methods or alternatives API that I can make use of.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to custom the LG logo like you can on the moto droid for the M logo, or any way of customizing the verizon splash screen or just remove it.I know that the newest rom removed the verizon splash, but I was hoping to not have to choose between roms over this and that there would be a way to customize it and not just remove it.So any way to customize these or remove the splash without permanently changing my rom.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone that is on this ROM, I would like you to try making a 3 way call and let me know if you are able to, some seem to be able to do so and others not and we are trying to find the reason and culprit, I even spoke with the developer and he is still trying to find out why some can and others can't.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with Viber 4.2 on Android 4.4.2 Samsung / Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition.
Viber 4.2 crashes while trying making the call (crash happens when other party answers) or while receiving the call (in the moment of answer). Also, Viber crashes while changing some options in Settings. For example, changing Settings->Privacy->Collect analytics crashes Viber. Uninstall/Reinstall/reboot device does not work. Downgrade to Viber 4.1 (still available on Viber web site) solved the problem but Viber 4.2 has new interesting options (block list, ring tone selection), so, I would like to use Viber 4.2 (but without these critical bugs).
Same problem was listed on other board (Moto G phone / Android 4.4.2).
I came across this on XDA and thought I would post here. Added some stuff so that it was easier than what was said on XDA. As always, do a NAND backup before doing this. I am not responsible if this bricks your phone. I just did it and it worked fine

View 3 Replies View Related1st, I would like to say that for the most part, Im happy with the Moment. The extended battery life after the update was a BIG plus. But i have a question. I used a samsung m520 slider for about a year before getting into the smartphones. The m520 would "announce" incoming calls.. It was very handy being im in construction and work with my hands all day. I would hear " call from home" or "call from" Whoever was calling as long as they were in my contact list.. Now with the Moment, i get a call and have to reach into my pocket, and look to see who is calling.. Kinda defeats the purpose. with my fingers all dirty, full of liquid nail, or caulk.. hell, mud even.. kinda sucks to grab my phone to see who is calling.. at that point, i could lift it up to my ear and talk. Does anyone know how to make this phone "announce" incoming calls? I called sprint on this issue, after trying to figure it out, they referred me to Samsung, who conected me with a "level 2" tech who told me to call google! So, I did, and google does not support the phone! any one know of an app? or a way to kick this in gear?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to extend the time that the backlight stays on whilst making a phone call?
Sure, I know that you can press the 'end call' button to end a call, but about three or four rings into the call, the backlight goes out, meaning that the on-screen 'end call' option is disabled, presumably also meaning that turning on the speakerphone during a call is going to need some tactile finger acrobatics.
Is it normal that my Captivate makes this weird buzzing sound while the phone is making a call? Also, while I'm talking to someone on it, you can still hear that buzzing sound as they talk. IDK if it's a speaker issue or an AT&T issue or what.
