HTC Eris :: Change Boot Logo - Androids On Skateboards
Mar 29, 2010
I came across this on XDA and thought I would post here. Added some stuff so that it was easier than what was said on XDA. As always, do a NAND backup before doing this. I am not responsible if this bricks your phone. I just did it and it worked fine
Things needed:ADB/Fastboot knowledge - HERE also try searching.
RGB565Converter v0.3c - Thanks to DeToX-cz!
Instructions:Find an or create an image (.png, .bmp, .jpg, or .gif -- 320x480 is preferrable)
Open RGB565 Converter
Ensure that "To RGB565 (binary)" tab is selected
Click "Open Image", select your image
Click "Convert to RGB565" (RGB565 Converter will make your image 320x480 if it is not already)
CLOSE RGB565 CONVERTER
Reboot phone into Fastboot using this command: adb reboot bootloader
OR Button combo: SEND/CALL + END/POWER
Flash image using this command: fastboot flash splash1 <your_image_name>.rgb565
Reboot phone using this command: fastboot reboot
OR fastboot oem powerdown if not then remove your battery
View the benefits of your hard work.
I didnt create this. Thanks to sickbox over at XDA for figuring this out and sharing the knowledge with all of us.
OG link: [HOW-TO] [ROOT ONLY] Change boot logo (skateboards, not boot animation) - xda-developers

So this morning I had an English Language exam, and as you do, I turned my little beut of a Hero off. After my 2 and a half hour ordeal, I turned my Hero on, and the screen was white, with little green androids on skateboards. Im actually not even messing. It had also text in blue and red font but I never got the time to read it. I only glanced at it for a sec.

I wanted to change the boot logo for i9300. Im well aware that you have to incorporate it in the kernel. I installed Ubuntu, the necessary libraries and brought the cyanogenmod source code. Only part is I dont have the necessary experience to tweak it using the NDK tools

I have a rooted eris running "Eris_Official_0.8.1T2" rom. I have seen threads about how to change the boot logo/animation, but no one knows how to remove the animation entirely. I would like the verbose boot to display on start up if possible. Has anyone done this? I have seen something similar with the android on iphone(at 1:53 in the video)

So I went to sleep last night with my phone on my bedside table i awoke this morning to androids on skateboards constantly restarting (yes I tried pulling out the battery and putting in back in).
I updated to 2.1 about 2 weeks ago, and no its not Rooted.
I did not do anything weird the night before either I am thoroughly confused and worried.
I am still able to get to the power/Vol down menu thing
I am going to try reinstalling the 2.1 update or somethig, I cannot think of anything else to try

Instead of seeing the boring old Android logo or my service provider's logo, I'd love to see the standard text-based Linux boot screen that shows the status of all the hardware and configuration info as my phone boots. My current phone is an HTC EVO 3D running Cool ICS with Sense 3.6 and Revolutionary CWM.

I tried installing Tranquility and must have screwed something up because now my phone won't boot past the Motorola Logo. It's been sitting here like this for about 15min and I can't even boot into recovery by holding the power and home buttons. I don't know what else to do now. Idk if my phone is bricked but even if it is don't I need the SBF file to unbrick it and I can't find that file any where. I did a nand backup or whatever before doing any of this so hopefully that can help me. What should I do now?

So, I'm attempting to create a custom bootscreen for my EVO, and was trying to find out if anyone knew how to get a copy of the initial "htc EVO" logo with white background that comes up?I've gone through the file system a few times, but haven't managed to find anything in there. Is it hard coded into the phone itself somewhere magically?

I spoofed my device S6312 to galaxy nexus using network spoofer to download an incompatible game from google play store.According to network spoofer everything worked great but nothing actually happened and that game was still incompatible on play store. So I launched network spoofer and told it to recover my device again to S6102.It said that the device will reboot so I gave it permissions and my device started rebooting but it stop at the Samsung logo and was doing the same thing again and again so s actually boot looping. How to recover my device and any way to do it without a computer.

Seems nobody has ever done the "android" boot logo as a live wallpaper, the logo that sits there on a black screen after you turn on the phone on some devices and it flashes a reflection once in a while. Or at least I haven't looked hard enough, does it exist?

My Sharp FX (ADS1) is stuck at the "Sharp" logo when I try turning it on, now I know that are several of these post on this forum, but I still can't find any that offers a solution for me. The phone is rooted and that's it, I haven't had time to put a new ROM or anything yet (although I would love to) and I can't seem to get into any type of recovery mode, and I think I have tried all of the button combinations, the only time that I can get it to show something other than "sharp" is when I plug it in, it shows a charging battery.
how to get into recovery mode (sym + power)

So I decided to hijack the "Red Rage" boot animation and use it as the base of my animation. Mine just has some Georgia Bulldog love to it. Also I have modified my boot logo and no longer have the "M" its now a lot nicer. I will include the bootanimation.zip in case anyone wants this. Just place it in the /data/local/ folder. Do not Unzip it, leave it how it is. If you have another one there just rename it with a .bak extension in case you don't like mine. Its stretched a little vertically, not sure why not too noticeable tough.

I should have just left it as it was out of the box..So after attempting to install a custom rom (4.4.2 Play edition)my s4 is stuck at the Samsung I9505 boot screen. I wiped the 'Dalvik cache' 'System' and 'cache' partitions in TWRP as I was following along with a Youtube video (that didn't work). When I tried to flash the custom ROM it automatically said failed. After giving up and turning on the phone I found that I'm stuck at this screen.
Have I bricked the phone? $550 could have gone down the drain just like that. I don't want to touch it without any advice and make everything worse. My only hope now is that I've managed to wipe the original software and it has nothing to boot from.
Why did the ROM install fail in the first place? I had it copied on the SD card. It was zip file.I can still access TWRP just fine and my SD shows up with the custom ROM still there, it's just whenever I hit install it fails in under a second.

This time the device would not boot past the motorola logo. I took out the battery and attempted to boot but again the device got stuck at the moto logo.

yesterday, I flashed Modaco Switch for HTC One when my battery is low (20%). Now it wont let me pass the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen. I've searched the solution for hours and still, no luck on finding it out. But I see some thread that suggest me to download a new rom and put it in my SD Card, but I cant even pass the HTC boot up screen. Btw, I've relocked and unrooted my device.

Recently I flashed to this ROM [URL] .... from a stock ROM. Have done it a few times before and no problems have occurred. It's an MIUI rom and I decided to customize the theme a little. The themes section allows to change most of the detail ie fonts, status bar, home screen, lock screen, icons, boot animation.
And that's where it started, when I changed the boot animation, instead of using the default one. When I did a reboot after the switch, the usual boot logo was up, but then the screen turned pixelated like a CRT monitor/damaged LCD screen with colourful pixels. But then in boot into the new animation all fine, and has been ok since. The device boots fine, but I'm worried about that pixelated screen.

I picked up a brand new Droid X, turned it on, got it all setup, and it downloaded my apps that I used to have on my old Droid. Then I rebooted it after all the apps were installed and updated, and now it will not move past the Motorola logo screen.
Searching around the internet I have found others that ran into this issue, but they were always rooting their phones. I also am not able to boot into recovery mode.
I have not rooted it, attempted to root it, or done anything other than as described above.
Is there anything I can do? Or do I have to just head back to Best Buy and demand a replacement unit?
