How to change the kernel boot logo on my samsung kernel? I don't mean the boot animation. I may have built a ROM but the kernel used there doesn't belong to me.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI wanted to change the boot logo for i9300. Im well aware that you have to incorporate it in the kernel. I installed Ubuntu, the necessary libraries and brought the cyanogenmod source code. Only part is I dont have the necessary experience to tweak it using the NDK tools

View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently I flashed to this ROM [URL] .... from a stock ROM. Have done it a few times before and no problems have occurred. It's an MIUI rom and I decided to customize the theme a little. The themes section allows to change most of the detail ie fonts, status bar, home screen, lock screen, icons, boot animation.
And that's where it started, when I changed the boot animation, instead of using the default one. When I did a reboot after the switch, the usual boot logo was up, but then the screen turned pixelated like a CRT monitor/damaged LCD screen with colourful pixels. But then in boot into the new animation all fine, and has been ok since. The device boots fine, but I'm worried about that pixelated screen.
I was trying to update my s4 clone, but missed click using something called mcm or something and it restore my cellphone to factory data, and know i dont have boot animation logo, i tried to use many programs like boot animation logo changer, rom toolbox but nothing works.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I decided to hijack the "Red Rage" boot animation and use it as the base of my animation. Mine just has some Georgia Bulldog love to it. Also I have modified my boot logo and no longer have the "M" its now a lot nicer. I will include the bootanimation.zip in case anyone wants this. Just place it in the /data/local/ folder. Do not Unzip it, leave it how it is. If you have another one there just rename it with a .bak extension in case you don't like mine. Its stretched a little vertically, not sure why not too noticeable tough.

I have a rooted eris running "Eris_Official_0.8.1T2" rom. I have seen threads about how to change the boot logo/animation, but no one knows how to remove the animation entirely. I would like the verbose boot to display on start up if possible. Has anyone done this? I have seen something similar with the android on iphone(at 1:53 in the video)
View 1 Replies View Relatedi just got a new phone (my first android), ive been trying to change my boot animation and cant seem to get it to work,i replaced the file which was named bootanimation_virigin.zip (also didnt think of renaming the original, so the original is gone), i even replaced the stock one which was named bootanimation.zip (also didnt rename it or back it up... -__-;; ) i made sure the files are correct and match up with the desc.txt file. i copied the original boot animation zip to my computer and just replaced everything, same number of files, about the same file size, same file type, same size and just put the folders "part0", "part1" and the desc.txt files back on my sd card and moved it to system/media/bootanimation_virigin, i compressed the files into a zip using root browser from the rom toolbox, i made sure that the compression was set to none, and then moved the zip file to system/media, i set the permisions to rw-r--r-- which is the exact same as the other boot animations. nothing shows up anymore till the phone is done booting but ill admit that it is definitely better than the stock virgin mobile animation...
here is everything i have for this boot animation (including: original virgin mobile boot animation, a video of the boot animation, all the pictures, and a folder titled "bootanimation_virign" which is the folder i moved into system/media)

i thought it was something on my phone but it was the way after effects renders jpeg sequences, i think it has something to do with the attributes of the jpeg file but anyways i just used a program called boot animation creator and it worked perfectly

View 2 Replies View RelatedI came across this on XDA and thought I would post here. Added some stuff so that it was easier than what was said on XDA. As always, do a NAND backup before doing this. I am not responsible if this bricks your phone. I just did it and it worked fine
Things needed:ADB/Fastboot knowledge - HERE also try searching.

View 1 Replies View RelatedInstead of seeing the boring old Android logo or my service provider's logo, I'd love to see the standard text-based Linux boot screen that shows the status of all the hardware and configuration info as my phone boots. My current phone is an HTC EVO 3D running Cool ICS with Sense 3.6 and Revolutionary CWM.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to change the boot animation, since I now I have access to the /system/customize/resource folder can I just delete that boot animation file and move the new one over from the sd card? I was going to use Astro to do this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedYou need adb and root. choose and download the bootanimation from here Boot Animations NEW! - Android @ MoDaCo. then place the bootanimation.zip into c:/where.ever.you.have.it/androidsdk/tools/ change or remove where.ever.you.have.it to the match your system. then hit windows key and r together. type cmd and hit enter. then type cd c:/where.ever.you.have.it/androidsdk/tools/adb devices (wait for it to find your phone, also make sure that usb debugging is on) now type adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local. when its finished reboot and enjoy.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI was able to change the boot animation before Froyu using the procedure at http://androidforums.com/tips-tricks-evo-4g/109120-how-install-new-boot-animation-without-root.html.After Froyo, I've tried to push the zip file as VZW_bootanimation.zip and bootanimation.zip to both /data/local and /system/customize/resource (I can't write to that location, I think it's for rooted phones only). None of these four options worked. What am I missing? That native boot animation is nasty.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI've got CM6 on my phone right now and I'm trying to change the boot animation using Root Explorer. I've used Root Explorer to change the boot animation on the stock 2.2 Rom. When I try to change the boot animation in CM6 it won't go through. I know the boot animation is located in system/media/boot animation.zip and I choose Mount R/W and it still won't change it. Do I have to use another method to change it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I change ROMs, does this remove the boot animation that I might have changed? I know a wipe is usually involved with a ROM change, but don't know if that will wipe the boot animation. I was going to change one, but will wait until I load a ROM so I don't have to do it twice.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm just trying to change my boot animation to go along with a theme i have for bugless beast 0.4...i was told to put the bootanimation.zip in the data/local folder which i did..then i used terminal to load it up and it says no such directory or something.
So to be clear i was supposed to create the local folder myself right? data is in the root, then i make the local folder inside the data? it seems i'm doing everything right but when i power on the phone i dont even have an animation..it just goes from the M symbol to the phone on.
Working on changing my boot animation on my X (not rooted) I followed all the steps but get stuck on the reboot. CMD says this operation is not permitted. USB debugging is checked, and the phone is in usb mode.

Go Here :
http://www.gizmoninja.com/2010/08/17/change-your-droids-splash-screen-and-boot-animation-its-so-easy/
How to includes how to:
Add your own splash screen.
Add custom boot animations and sounds.
Links to some cool apps and animations and splash screens.
Just found this out over at the XDA forums, that to change the boot animation and sound, you go to /system/customize/resource/ and it's named VZW_boot animation.zip and for the sound it's named VZW_Droid.zip..
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to do some low level performance testing related to device processor cores through adb which I feel it is affected by Android background services and system stuff.
As I know that the Android boot sequence stages are as follow:
1.Execute Boot ROM code.
2.Execute the boot loader.
3.Load the Linux kernel.
4.Launch Zygote, which initializes the Dalvik VM.
5.System server which loads the Android system.
So my question is how can I interrupt this sequence to force it stop on stage 3 to load Linux kernel. This can implement my intermediary performance testings before loading again Android system.
Does Fastboot or Clockworkmod recovery can load my device to a kind of Linux kernel?
