HTC Incredible :: Handcent - How To Get Widget To Work Right?

So I gave in and decided to download Handcent. I wasn't overly impressed with the HTC Message Widget and have heard such great things about Handcent. But, I'm having trouble getting the widget to work right. I have a blank home screen and added the Handcent SMS Widget to it. I thought that should make a full-screen widget like the other do. But instead it is just putting a tiny little Handcent icon as if it was a shortcut to the program (which essentially is what it is because if I click on it then Handcent opens). I have done this multiple times to make sure I was putting the widget and not the program there.

I haven't tried yet but I'm just curious if Handcent SMS works with Google Voice? Are there any issues with using these programs together? ChompSMS?

I installed handcent and I cant get the notification sounds to work - I have checked the phone sound settings as well as the handcent notification settings and everything seems to be set right yet no sound for texts. It does vibrate when I have it on vibrate.

My weather on my clock widget won't find my current location. It can find other major cities like New York and nearby Cleveland, but it can't zero in on my little town, which it always has before.
My wife's is working and shows our town, but mine just sits there blank with the town name saying no information is found.
I deleted the widget off the screen and readded it. I pulled the battery. Neither worked.

I now have "Low on Space" and "Not enough storage space for SM (then it's cutoff)". I have done 6 factory resets since getting it and after the last two I have added no apps to it. I have plenty of memory left but the message still pops up and GMAIL sent and Trash is empty, I have 29mb in use out of 7486mb in Gmail in use and i am about to walk into a Verizon store and beat someone senseless with this piece of crap phone. The INC is the only Android+Sense phone doing this right? Now my Bluetooth wont turn on or off. The widget and menu+settings doesn't work.

Re: the keyboard, how do I get it to work? I downloaded it, but can't figure out how to use it.Re: SMS, I now get notifications on Handcent SMS and the SMS program that came with the phone. I took the "Messages" widget off of home, but still get notifications of a new message; how do I stop that?

It sends text great but it never sends MMS pictures. Any work around this? I downloaded the latest one on their site but no luck.

Got my Evo this past Thursday. Loving it. I'm interested in trying out handcent, but a deal breaker is having an icon with the number of unread messages. I installed Handcent today but there was no widget option, just the app option. Any idea why? SMS Unread Count didn't seem to have an option to start Handcent (that and the default icon is too cutesy).

I use handscent for text messaging, like it a lot. I also like(ed) the htc message widget (gives you a stack of your most recent texts on your home screen). The only problem is that i can not figure out a way to have the widget take me into handcent (rather then the htc native messaging app) when i hit either the list or compose butttons at the bottom of the widget. Anyone have any ideas or will the widget just always connect with the htc app?

I just downloaded the update to Handcent and they made it so the contacts picture shows in the chat area, thereby limiting the overall space available for messages. To me, this is not a beneficial update and I want to disable the new feature. Has anyone figured out how to do so yet? I may look into Chomp SMS if this cannot be disabled.

I am having a problem sending MMS to AT&T from my Incredible. I attached the photo and it resizes it and says it sends but my friend never gets it. I tried to send one with the stock messaging app and it went through.
SMS messages go through fine. I even upped the size limit of a picture from 300KB to 1M and still nothing and some of the resized pics are way less than 300KB.
I was able to send an older pic that didn't need to be resized. Could it be the resizing?

Is there a way to backup the Handcent settings? Took me a couple hours to completely customize Handcent the way I wanted it and now if I upgrade to Froyo I'll lose all the settings. Titanium Backup doesn't backup anything but the application.

Has anyone else been experiencing this issue?The rest of my applications have been running great.I love the new additions of 2.2 but was surprised to see a slowdown in Handcent.I understand that some people have been experiencing typing lag,I have as well but even while opening the application and choosing between contacts I have noticed a great deal of lag.Enough to make me go back to the stock messanger(which could have used some customization options with froyo IMO).

I did a quick search and didn't find anything, but if this has been answered I apologize. I just switched from the droid, and was used to having all the different LED colors that I could use for different groups of people. Is this not possible on the Incredible? That would really suck.

Anybody else seem to think the handcent app drains your battery big time? I had it loaded for a few hours and it's killing my battery!
Also how do I get rid of the notifications in my dropdown screen, I really dont need the notification there as well as on the Pop up...........

I have had the 'low memory' notification on my phone for a while, plus Handcent has been extremely laggy lately... so I decided to delete some of my SMS as I have never deleted them and Im sure I have thousands...
I have tried to delete the threads in handcent, force delete in handcent, and delete in the stock messages app.. and every single time the phone winds up hanging and eventually the program will FC.

So, all of a sudden handcent quit vibrating at all. I cant figure out why or what I could have done to cause this. I have checked and rechecked all of the settings. The main reason for me using it is because I kept missing messages and handcent allows to make at least longer vibes.

So I have a good amount of contacts in my phone and never do I have a problem with responding to texts even if the person isn't in my phone book. I have one contact that for whatever reason I can't respond to with Handcent. When she texts me I reply normally and it says there's no contact, so I have to go into the stock program and talk to her thru it. Has anyone else experienced this before? honestly if it was someone I talked to regularly I would have to go back to stock but I rarely talk to this person but when I do it's kind of annoying, and I forget and start using handcent so I always have to cut and paste things.

I SHOULD be receiving my Incredible from VZW sometime soon and I have a quick question regarding apps. Can you rename some apps such as the Handcent SMS app or Gmail app? Is there an option to change it so it can just say "SMS" for the Handcent and "Email" for the Gmail app?
