Just got Camera 360 and I'm having some trouble on my EVO. I'm shooting in high quality and in 1280x960 resolution but when I download the pics to my laptop they are coming out 424x320. I bumped up the resolution and same thing, small pics. The stock camera is working fine shooting at 1280x768 resolution

I want to decode high resolution pics something like 8 mega pixel images and view it. when I try to decode them I get out of memory exception. Decoding of single 8 mega pixel also fails . From the Imagamanager code and other post I could use BitmapFactory.Options inJustDecodeBounds I could get a scaled down version of the Image......................

I'm building a game with graphic assets in hdpi resolutions (hence I put the files in drawable-hdpi directory). I don't want to have a corresponding mdpi resolution of the images, and I will code everything in 240-dpi based pixel coordinates.
Is it possible to still allow mdpi and ldpi devices to run the application, by automatically scaling the graphics from the hdpi version? Optimize for high-dpi devices only but still support (small- and) medium-dpi screens.
everytime i sync with DT and my Evo, the pics come out small. for instance, i have hi res pics, 4mb perfect pics from my wedding. when i sync, the pics only show up 1/2 the screen size. when i expand it out, it looks like crap. there are no settings within DT that do anything to pics or music or anything. just where your library is. thats it. does anyone have any tips for me? i have like 20gb of pics i used to sync with itunes and my iphone. turned out to be bewteen 3-4gb once they were resized to the iphone specs (within itunes obviously). i am looking to do this exact same thing. i want all my pics, but the 20gb will obviously not fit on the 8gb SD card, nor a 16 if i had to buy.

The latest update of google plus mentions high resolution instant upload, but I am not seeing this functionality .. Also with previously uploaded photos, they remain at low resolution ... will I have to remove them and allow my phone to re-upload the images?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Android documentation says that best practices are to make two drawable directories - one for HDPI and one for MDPI. It also says that if the MDPI directory doesn't exist and a MDPI device is running the app, it will scale down the HDPI ones so everything looks good. Is there any reason not to just make one high resolution set of graphics? One con that I can think of is performance issues and one pro I can think of is only having one set of images for your app.

I have tested this new field, and I can tell for sure that it was ignored when rendering the android market icon. Maybe that it will get used after a market upgrade... Furthermore, I have had problems with the market icon. After various tests, I have realized that it is always the mdpi icon, scaled to some random size (51px, etc..), even if there's a hdpi icon, and whatever device I used. But I see some icons which seem to be pixel-sharp. Is this just an illusion or is there a trick?

I would even be happy with just stock android icons. Is there a way to use just the icons from themes?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am a new android user, and got my Droid 2 the morning they came out at the Verizon store. Now the guy that was helping me at the store told me that the battery life would be bad because of the high resolution screen but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I have been having really bad battery issues and I don't even use it constantly. I have it on around 20% brightness during the day, and I really only send text messages, and some web browsing but not a huge amount. My battery will be drained after 6 hours or so, and will need a charge again. When checking on battery manager it does say that most of my energy is going to my screen, but like I said I don't even have it close to the full brightness. I have been using an app killer program to try to maintain that also, but I did read somewhere that it can actually hurt your battery more, from closing and opening apps. Just wanted to hear some feedback from other users since we a couple days after launch. Everything else has been great with this phone, and I am REALLY enjoying the android OS after switching from a Blackberry.
View 49 Replies View RelatedDidn't wanna hijack the other thread, so I wanted to share some pics of the Innocase II that I received today. I used there products for my Curve (made it too bulky) and the 3GS (perfect case it was). Buying this case was a no brainer IMO since those silicon cases collect tons of dust. Best Buy gave a free OEM Hero skin and WOW it is a dust collector. This Innocase gives the device a better grip and makes it a touch thicker, which IMO makes the phone a better handheld device to hold. Also covers up the blah grey color. As you can see from the pics, the slider case is a great fit and gives a nice "lay on the table" design, which I love.Not much more to add, but for anyone looking for a case, this has to be the best case made for the Hero.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just don't get it: when I use the camera with an intent and also specify an output file, the returned image is always very small on many devices (e.g. Motorola Milestone 2.1, HTC Desire 2.1, Emulator 2.1, Emulator 2.0.1) but not on all (e.g. Nexus One). Has anyone been able to get the camera to focus on small items? I was trying to take a picture of a praying mantis on a flower today and could not get it to focus on the insect. I tried different settings including macro and portrait etc. Anyone have any tips on how to get this camera to focus on an object this small?

I like all those high speed camera shoots and i was thinking if would it be possible to make an app to use the camera to shoot high speed videos. I am not thinking like professional high speed video (those go up to millions of fps) but more like up to 1000 or 500. The desire should be able to shoot hd 720p video (lets hope with the next update) and may be would be possible to to make lower resolution high speed videos. I think the cpu is enough, but would the camera be able?

Previously, I shared a photo to my friend, and he told me that I use a 4MP camera. I was shocked, because it should be 5MP. He's using a photo viewing software that can display photo details. Anyway, I had a look in the camera's setting, resolution 5MP (2592 X 1552). I curiously multiply two numbers, 2592 X 1552 = 4022784 which is 4MP.
