HTC EVO 4G : Call Comes In - When Browsing Through Apps On Web

Sep 10, 2010

I just got my Evo last week and have been trying to find the setting (if there) so if I'm browsing through apps or on the web and a call comes in, it overrides so I don't miss the call. I've searched online and can't seem to find it.

HTC EVO 4G : Call comes in - when browsing through apps on web

HTC Droid Eris :: Browsing Internet And Apps While On Call

Jan 1, 2010

i am not sure if this has already been addressed but i know one of the main advertisements AT&T has done is the iphones ability to surf the web while on a call and verizon's inability to do so, well i was playing around on the call settings and what not while on a call and i pressed home expecting it to take me back to the call screen and instead it took me to my home screen and i thought, why not, so i tried to open the browser and it worked. i was kinda surprised. so i tried to open some apps as well and it also worked. i am just wondering why AT&T is boasting about this when we have the ability to and sprint likely has this ability also bc of the similarities between the hero and the eris.

HTC EVO 4G :: Temp Go Up Quickly While Web Browsing Downloading Apps Etc

Oct 2, 2010

I am coming up on my 30 day return deadline and want to see if my phone might have a hardware problem (hoping it doesn't) or if it's normal that i've got temps of up to 118 degrees. While idle or sleeping, the temp is of course low but once I start to fiddle with the phone, I see the temp go up and up quickly. Right now it's at 104.4F after about 5-10 minutes on my phone (web browsing, downloading apps, etc.) It is usually between 100F and 110F and sometimes the kickstand is hot to the touch. I feel like it gets abnormally hot in a short amount of time. Hottest it ever got was about 118F while playing home run battle 3D and my LED alternated which meant it was overheating. There isn't a day that the phone does not get hot. Also, I do have a case on it which might contribute to the heat a bit. What are your normal temps while using the phone?

I have now found THREE paid applications that are not on the marketplace when I search or when I use barcodes (Twidroid Pro, Record It and Flight Director.I can see other paid apps so it's not that none are available. What can cause these apps to be missing? Who should I be calling, emailing, screaming at?

Apr 7, 2012

Whenever I get a spam call I still get notified in the tool bar (with some of them it even rings once)...

So before I download any more apps, any App that doesn't notify you when a blocked number calls? Seems like an obvious thing, but they way these apps function seem to defeat the whole purpose of ignoring unwanted calls.

Android :: Google Voice Call Quality -- How A Call Routed If Have GV Make The Call

Feb 11, 2010

I use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.

I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.

My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.

Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)

Android :: Slow Browsing With 3G

May 27, 2010

I have a rooted mytouch 3G and I've been using the barnacle tether app for the last few months for internet on my laptop. Just recently I've been playing online poker on my laptop. It worked fine for about a day or so, then things started to get extremely slow, barely being able to load google (taking about a few minutes to load a basic html page). I don't know if it has something to do with using my phone for a connection with the poker clients or if it's just coincidence with the timing of it, I called T-Mobile and they said there are no problems at all with the coverage in my area and to do a Power cycle which didn't seem to help. Does anyone have ANY idea what could be wrong?

HTC Hero :: Drop Box When Browsing

May 2, 2010

I am the proud owner of a Hero, and like it! The only issue I have is that I use a website to book golf on-line. There's an icon which gives a list of all the courses. On a standard PC there's a bar on the right side of the list which you slide up or down to acess about 50 courses. On the Hero I can open the list, but it only shows the first 6 courses, and not the bar. For the life of me I have tried everything and I can't find a way to access the "hidden"courses. Does this problem ring a bell with anyone?

Android :: Web Browsing Sucks

Sep 20, 2010

First and foremost is the internet browser

1.- the zoom sucks you can zoom with gestures and all but the way it does it sucks. if you pinch slightly it should zoom by a small amount. in other world i can not zoom in to cover what i want to, it zoom either way pass were i want or completely zooms out. of course this i think is just a programming issue of not taking into consideration of how big is the pinch. This is frustrating me so much.

2.- when you zoom the browser relays out the entire page. which is completely wrong it should not happen. when say zooming in on a column of text that you think can be better read by zooming in the browser does a re-layout and now my text is all over the place. the expectation is the you are zooming into a small portion of the webpage not that you are changing the dimensions of the page or object you are zooming in (<DIV>,<p>,<SPAN> or which ever). they should stay still and let me get a bigger view of the window that i'm trying to view. the fix here would be to zoom in without the weird re-layout. it has sucked so much that what I'm doing is caring my iPhone just to browser the web and my droid for all the rest.

For example, if I type a post on the facebook mobile web site. And click "post" the buttons becomes gren like I have clicked on it but nothing happens! This is also the case with other pages with clickable buttons.

Turning the power on and off, seems to work for a bit, but then it happens again. I couldn't seem to find anyone having these issues for some reason and it's very annoying because I can't make any posts on Facebook this way.Clicking on an actual link works just fine, however.
