HTC Incredible :: Incredible Vs Droid Vs Iphone 3G Web Browsing Speed Test
May 24, 2010So i was out the other night with a few friends and we decided to race our phones going to various web sites. We laid all three phones down in a triangle next to each other. We would all type in the same web site and hit go at the same time. My incredible was killing them. Compared to the droid, the incredible would load the site about 5 seconds faster. The iphone was not even close. One site took about 15 to 20 seconds longer to load on the iPhone. They were shocked at how fast the incredible was. I am so glad I have this phone!

Jun 8, 2010What is the best way to scroll web pages in the droid incredible? I use my finger to scroll (fast or slow).. and I keep accidentally clicking on links on the web page. I know I can use the optical track.. but not very fond of it for scrolling.

Menu>more>History>Clear History says my history is cleared but when I go back to my browser and tap the navigation field it's all still there - every site I've visited for days! Ditto if I go to Menu>More>Settings and clear the forms, history, cache, and cookies. So how do I clear the browser navigation history?

Make internet pages display white text on a black background and so on. Many people do this on their computer browsers as it is easier on the eyes. On computers, people just use stylesheets to accomplish this.How can I do this on my Droid incredible internet? Or must the phone be rooted for this sort of customization? Is their another internet app that has this function?

Jun 6, 2010For the sake of simplicity, the pages on facebook that you "Like", I will refer to them as 'fan pages' (old name). I am admin of a fan page (which doesn't matter since everyone can post photos/videos). How can I upload photos from my phone to this page? The phone's 'Touch' page and 'Mobile' page will only allow me to upload to my profile, but that's not what I want. When I go to the fan page using the 'Touch' or 'Mobile' page, it never gives me option to upload photos, only to view them. I tried using the normal 'Full' facebook page on my phone but it just says "Upload Disabled" because I'm not on a PC. Can someone explain how I can upload a photo to a fan page? This was one of the bigger reasons I got this phone.

Jun 9, 20101. Web browsing. Especially if I go to the Facebook website, when I click on some buttons, lilke "Search", nothing happens. It is as if it is a dead link. My only solution is that I reboot my phone, and then clicking on links work again. Anyone have this or no a solution?

Sep 1, 2010Has anyone noticed extremely fast battery drain while browsing the internet? I can use Facebook, play games, look at wikidroid, etc. and battery life seems "normal" but while using the browser it will use 10 percent in 10 minutes. I have timed it, I was at 60 percent, browsed the forums here for 10 minutes and was at 51 percent afterwards. Is this normal?
I am rooted and have 2.2, I have tried the stock browser and Dolphin HD and both do the same thing.

May 27, 2010I have a rooted mytouch 3G and I've been using the barnacle tether app for the last few months for internet on my laptop. Just recently I've been playing online poker on my laptop. It worked fine for about a day or so, then things started to get extremely slow, barely being able to load google (taking about a few minutes to load a basic html page). I don't know if it has something to do with using my phone for a connection with the poker clients or if it's just coincidence with the timing of it, I called T-Mobile and they said there are no problems at all with the coverage in my area and to do a Power cycle which didn't seem to help. Does anyone have ANY idea what could be wrong?

May 2, 2010I am the proud owner of a Hero, and like it! The only issue I have is that I use a website to book golf on-line. There's an icon which gives a list of all the courses. On a standard PC there's a bar on the right side of the list which you slide up or down to acess about 50 courses. On the Hero I can open the list, but it only shows the first 6 courses, and not the bar. For the life of me I have tried everything and I can't find a way to access the "hidden"courses. 1.- the zoom sucks you can zoom with gestures and all but the way it does it sucks. if you pinch slightly it should zoom by a small amount. in other world i can not zoom in to cover what i want to, it zoom either way pass were i want or completely zooms out. of course this i think is just a programming issue of not taking into consideration of how big is the pinch. This is frustrating me so much.
2.- when you zoom the browser relays out the entire page. which is completely wrong it should not happen. when say zooming in on a column of text that you think can be better read by zooming in the browser does a re-layout and now my text is all over the place. the expectation is the you are zooming into a small portion of the webpage not that you are changing the dimensions of the page or object you are zooming in (<DIV>,<p>,<SPAN> or which ever). they should stay still and let me get a bigger view of the window that i'm trying to view. the fix here would be to zoom in without the weird re-layout. it has sucked so much that what I'm doing is caring my iPhone just to browser the web and my droid for all the rest.

Aug 27, 2010I own a G2 Touch (i.e. Hero) with 2.1 installed. I have spent ages trying to find an app that lets me upload selected web pages in advance, so that I can read them at my leisure without needing an Internet connection. This is mainly because I spend a lot of time using my phone on the underground when commuting to work, but would also be useful when I am flying. I can't seem to find such a thing, is anyone aware of a such a thing. Ideally I want one which knows my page preferences in advance and synchronizes without the need for manual input. There used to be a website called avantgo which did this (in a more cursory form) for pdas, but they disappeared a few years ago and I haven't tracked down an android equivalent.

Jul 3, 2010For some reason, I am having trouble click on buttons when browsing.
For example, if I type a post on the facebook mobile web site. And click "post" the buttons becomes gren like I have clicked on it but nothing happens! This is also the case with other pages with clickable buttons.
Turning the power on and off, seems to work for a bit, but then it happens again. I couldn't seem to find anyone having these issues for some reason and it's very annoying because I can't make any posts on Facebook this way.Clicking on an actual link works just fine, however.

Apr 14, 2010I'm interested in buying this phone but I'm not sure about the battery life. Can anyone tell me how much the battery will last if used in browsing over 3G? My currently old Nokia 6120 doesn't last more than 1 hour and a half doing that, which is pretty frustrating.
