HTC Droid Eris :: Stop Deleting SMS?
Dec 27, 2009Twice a day now my phone will delete all my sms texts.. I use Handcent.. Is there anything i can do to stop this?

Feb 24, 2010Whenever i enter a new contact they stay in my phone for about a minute and then i go back to my "people" page and they have disappeared (i see them for a second, then they disappear) They are contacts i have entered manually. all of the contacts show up on my gmail page. but they arent on my phone. I have tried it with syncing on and off. same thing happens. So i am just trying to get some info on this before i try a factory reset(dont really want to)

Apr 27, 2010This is my first post here. Got my Desire recently and i am loving the phone. Like other i was having battery issues but following the advice here i was able to extend the battery life considerably, so im hoping someone here may know something about an issue om having.
Im using the Handscent app for text messaging. However over the last week or so when i go to open a new message, the application freezes and shuts down. When i go to open it again all my messages are deleted. They are also missing in the standard messaging app that came with the phone.
Has this happened to anyone else? If it did did you find a way to stop it happening?
HTC Droid Eris :: Deleting Custom Ringtones
Jan 19, 2010I created a Ringtone from a MP3 File on my SD Card. It shows up as a ringtone in the list. I'm trying to delete the Ringtone, but I can't figure out how. I even deleted the MP3 off the SD Card, but the Ringtone still exists. Where is it stored and how can I delete it?

Feb 22, 2010I am having a problem with my emails in the native Eris email app deleting after a few days. I have tried every setting that I can think of to get this to stop but no luck. The Gmail app does not delte the messages like the nmative app does. I have the native app set up with my work email and I need to keep messages around until I delete them. Just to stress have no problems with Gmail deleting just the native app which I have set up exclusively to my work email.

Jan 10, 2010When I first turned it on, I was able to delete emails by checking a box to the left of them (like how it looks on my computer). This way I could delete several at a time. Now when I open my gmail, I need to open each email individually in order to delete it. Is there a way to change this?

Jan 30, 2010I've been enjoying my phone so far but now its running kinda slow in the message department, so I figured I'd clear out all my messages, all 3000+ plus. Android just doesn't want to delete them, I've heard that it can take 5+ minutes to delete message threads 500+, I'm screwed because one of my threads has over 2000! This phone should be storing older txt messages to the sdcard anyway, not sure why it wouldn't. Basically this thread was made to complain how crappy clearing out messages was.

Dec 14, 2009I'm having trouble deleting a message thread that is over 1500 messages.. Using the stock Message Delete just results in a force close after a few minutes, and using the app called SMS Quick Delete results in nothing at all, even after running for almost half an hour. Is there an easier way to do this? Is it possible to connect to my computer via usb and browse to manually delete the messages?

Dec 11, 2009A couple of my friends and I all have the Eris. I seem to be the only one that has messaging issues though. If I try to delete a thread with over 30 messages the phone freezes up and I eventually have to hit the home button to make anything happen. When I'm on the home screen I click messages again to see if it did delete the thread and ALL my threads are gone and it says Compose Message at the top. But it freezes again. I end up restarting my phone, going back to the messages and they are all back like I never touched them.
Every time I try to explain this people seem to think I don't understand how to delete a thread. That is not the issue! If the thread is under 30 messages it deletes fine! I have to delete facebook statuses all the time. The only way I could clear a 700 count thread was to one by one delete the messages. What is going on? Is it just my phone and hopefully an update is coming? Or do I have a setting turned on that I need to change?

May 23, 2010After the OTA I have discovered (to my frustration) that the email I have been deleting from my Eris is being permanently deleted from my Yahoo Plus account. I have searched here and all over trying to see if there is new settings or what but can't find anything to include the "don't delete from server" setting for the account.
With my other yahoo accounts (free) I didn't have the option to keep them on the server and accepted that as it was a struggle to get the free accounts up early on.
Keep the emails I delete from my phone on the server?
HTC Droid Eris :: Going Cold Turkey - Deleting Task Killer Experiment
Jul 8, 2010I finally deleted Advanced Task Killer. Ever since getting my Eris, I have been dependent upon it. I have in fact been obsessed with it, making sure I clicked the ATK widget to kill all programs before ever putting my phone to sleep. I was obsessed with battery life and the Messages App issue. Now, I am giving it a shot.
My two biggest concerns are phone speed and battery life. My battery life has been fine, mostly because I shut my 3G off when I am at home or work. My phone speed has been lagging considerably, and I am hoping that deleting ATK, along with deleting some unused Apps and clearing the cache, will help keyboard lag and general app lag. I will keep you posted to see what happens. I am excited, I know that a lot of you have highly suggested not using Task Killers, and I am excited to not be bound by it. However after a week if I notice considerable battery life loss, and no considerable difference in device speed, I may reinstall it. We shall see!
HTC Droid Eris :: Phone Stuck At Boot Screen After Deleting Contacts
Sep 5, 2010I have a customer with a Droid Eris stuck at the boot screen (3 dancing green droid guys) and it wont go past that. I can boot it into Hboot, I've done a factory reset, didn't work. The customer said they deleted all their contacts from the phone, charged it then the next day it was stuck like this.

Aug 18, 2010Lately the phone just starts vibrating and won't stop (no calls, no msgs). I have to take the battery out and leave it out for a while. If I try to put it back to soon it starts vibrating again.
