when i trying to remove widgets off the screen it starts shaking crazy after trying to hold it down and then it shows me all 7 screens. does anyone else have this problem ? im trying to make my eris look cool.

For widgets I can delete the app If I don't want it anymore, but If i still need it how do i take it off.I added a mail shortcut on the home screen, and I haven't been using it since my e-mails are synced. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever i enter a new contact they stay in my phone for about a minute and then i go back to my "people" page and they have disappeared (i see them for a second, then they disappear) They are contacts i have entered manually. all of the contacts show up on my gmail page. but they arent on my phone. I have tried it with syncing on and off. same thing happens. So i am just trying to get some info on this before i try a factory reset(dont really want to)

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my emails in the native Eris email app deleting after a few days. I have tried every setting that I can think of to get this to stop but no luck. The Gmail app does not delte the messages like the nmative app does. I have the native app set up with my work email and I need to keep messages around until I delete them. Just to stress have no problems with Gmail deleting just the native app which I have set up exclusively to my work email.

Now when I open my gmail, I need to open each email individually in order to delete it. Is there a way to change this?

Android just doesn't want to delete them, I've heard that it can take 5+ minutes to delete message threads 500+, I'm screwed because one of my threads has over 2000! This phone should be storing older txt messages to the sdcard anyway, not sure why it wouldn't. Basically this thread was made to complain how crappy clearing out messages was.

Using the stock Message Delete just results in a force close after a few minutes, and using the app called SMS Quick Delete results in nothing at all, even after running for almost half an hour. Is there an easier way to do this? Is it possible to connect to my computer via usb and browse to manually delete the messages?

View 5 Replies View RelatedA couple of my friends and I all have the Eris. I seem to be the only one that has messaging issues though. If I try to delete a thread with over 30 messages the phone freezes up and I eventually have to hit the home button to make anything happen. When I'm on the home screen I click messages again to see if it did delete the thread and ALL my threads are gone and it says Compose Message at the top. But it freezes again. I end up restarting my phone, going back to the messages and they are all back like I never touched them.
Every time I try to explain this people seem to think I don't understand how to delete a thread. That is not the issue! If the thread is under 30 messages it deletes fine! I have to delete facebook statuses all the time. The only way I could clear a 700 count thread was to one by one delete the messages. What is going on? Is it just my phone and hopefully an update is coming? Or do I have a setting turned on that I need to change?
We all know that we cannot delete individual words in the dictionary ... however I found in thread in Android Applications that may be somewhat useful. View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter the OTA I have discovered (to my frustration) that the email I have been deleting from my Eris is being permanently deleted from my Yahoo Plus account. I have searched here and all over trying to see if there is new settings or what but can't find anything to include the "don't delete from server" setting for the account.
With my other yahoo accounts (free) I didn't have the option to keep them on the server and accepted that as it was a struggle to get the free accounts up early on.
Keep the emails I delete from my phone on the server?
I finally deleted Advanced Task Killer. Ever since getting my Eris, I have been dependent upon it. I have in fact been obsessed with it, making sure I clicked the ATK widget to kill all programs before ever putting my phone to sleep. I was obsessed with battery life and the Messages App issue. Now, I am giving it a shot.
My two biggest concerns are phone speed and battery life. My battery life has been fine, mostly because I shut my 3G off when I am at home or work. My phone speed has been lagging considerably, and I am hoping that deleting ATK, along with deleting some unused Apps and clearing the cache, will help keyboard lag and general app lag. I will keep you posted to see what happens. I am excited, I know that a lot of you have highly suggested not using Task Killers, and I am excited to not be bound by it. However after a week if I notice considerable battery life loss, and no considerable difference in device speed, I may reinstall it. We shall see!
I have a customer with a Droid Eris stuck at the boot screen (3 dancing green droid guys) and it wont go past that. I can boot it into Hboot, I've done a factory reset, didn't work. The customer said they deleted all their contacts from the phone, charged it then the next day it was stuck like this.
