Have had my Eris for a week and am adjusting to all the quirks mentioned in other posts. But phone service in my home is nearly non-existent. Sometimes I get 1 bar and sometimes none. Phone calls are garbled and have had several drops. My wife's LG phome on Verizon does much better.

I just installed lock 2.0 and i was just adjusting the settings and now every time I'm in my phone and i touch the "Home" button it locks my phone instead of taking me back to my home screen! Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy

My Eris recently stopped getting 3G (or even 1x) service. When I try turning mobile network on it takes a long time like its searching then says it is on but when you go into "about phone" and look at mobile network it says it is not connected and there is no 3G or 1x display in the status bar. I am currently at school in the bay area and it worked for the first few days I was here, not sure exactly when it stopped cuz I mostly use wireless but noticed it when I wanted to do something off wireless. Pretty sure it is not a coverage issue because my friend with a moto droid gets 3G and it is almost as fast as his wireless connection at full bars. Also now I cant send or receive MMS due to this (apparently cant transmit over WiFi or voice signal), making my smart phone less useful than a dumb phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedLurked for short time. Good site. Wife and I got Eris each. hers does not 'buzz' when tapping the 'home, menu, back and search' touch keys. Could not figure it out. Any suggestions? (Love the phones by the way!) OH!!! And, bought the Seido 3500 mah battery. it really is not that big, fits in my hand nicely. I will let you know how it lasts. charged last night and still strong today. But I will keep updated.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.

Basically I'm wondering if the Eris could be used by my son as a sort of Android based iPod Touch.
For the past two days, I've had no service. I was using xtrROM4 when it first started. So I went back to EvilEris and it worked for a little while, then yesterday stopped working again. So I re-flashed xtrROM4 and it worked all night and this morning. Now it's gone again. Can't make a call, send a text, get online, nothing.
I'm at work, and I never had the 'best' signal, but I'd go by a window and be fine. Now nothing, no matter where I go.
So, I was one of the people with an Eris that was not receiving MMS messages anymore. Because of this I decided to do a factory reset at the suggestion of some users with the same problem and now that I have done one I no longer have service. I was able to download stuff from the marketplace, but no calls or texts. Whenever I make a phone call it says "welcome to verizon wireless, your service has been temporarily disconnected, please call your customer service representative." I have done *228 to reprogram and activate, I have done it to update roaming, and I pushed 3 and activated the phone again but said it was already active.

Verizon phone....like the Eris. And the reviews seem to be pretty positive.Anyone have any experience with Page Plus?cause their plans are cheap....much cheaper than Verizon.

View 5 Replies View RelatedThis is news to me and I figured i would share it with my fellow Droiders. I just switched from the Eris to the Moto Droid. I figured switching would render my Eris usless because when starting up the Moto Droid, I had to go through an update orientation and had to connect the phone to a number before getting a chance to view the hoem screen. However, my Eris still works. I can not make phone calls, but I can still use it with the Wifi in my house and can play the music that is stored on the memory card. It is like an Eris Touch. I can also still get apps from the Market and update existing apps.

The one that I found, the hard way after 3 straight days of only getting 10 hours of battery life, is the Google Talk service. I accidentally opened it and System Panel didn't kill it. I only found it by looking at Battery Uses>Running Services.

The is a tower a half a mile down the road from me, and at random times the Eris will say I have no service. But I know it's not just the tower because I still don't get service randomly at places it's usually fine.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI got my Eris only a few days after playing with an iPod for the first time.Besides the widgets feature, there is an aspect of the iPod interface that I like better than Android.I like how the "Home" of an iPod lists all of the installed apps, but you can move them to different pages to categorize them.With Android, I go through the market and add a bunch of apps, but then I have to go add each one to one of the Home pages. Does anyone know of a Home interface that auto-adds apps when they are downloaded?

It is by far the fastest most stable home replacement I have ever used. It is in the market so I suggest you check it out if you are looking for something different!
