Apr 28, 2010Is there a way to make the vibration stronger. I'm used to my Curve where the vibration was strong. But the eris is very weak, most of the time when it's in the case on my belt I miss calls because I can't feel it.

Apr 27, 2010I got my HTC Desire delivered yesterday, but there is a slight problem I have noticed with it. Even after turning all possible vibration options off (i.e. haptic feedback and 'vibrate when you type' in text input), the vibratory mode on the phone dialer still doesn't go away. When I press the keys on the phone dialer keypad, it still vibrates. I have no idea whether it is a HTC feature or a problem with my handset.

Jan 19, 2010Is there any way of getting a stronger vibrate from the Hero. If I have my Hero on vibrate, many times I don't even know it's "ringing" because the vibrate is so soft. If I am wearing on my hip in the case I got, I generally don't feel it. I love the Hero, but the Blackberry had a more significant vibrate. Any ideas, or just live with it?

Mar 16, 2009I am trying to actually simulate a vibrator device inside the emulator .A timed_output driver for the vibrator was created and i am able to access the node at /sys/class/timed_output/vibrator/enable that is specified as THE_DEVICE in the vibrator.c file at hardware/ libhardware/vibrator/.The driver is tested to work from the kernel below. I ran into some issue while trying to invoke the driver from a user level app.I just added these two lines and created an app.

I cant feel a thing seriously but with my old Blackberry I can. I really need it badly since I am deaf. I found a funny app called Vibrator and vibration actually can last longer than the notification setup. I figure someone can help me setup fast and simple apps that allows us to tweak vibration to be stronger. I know Blackberry has range 1 to 10, let me decide what works best for me. How do I formally request Android Team or Google/TMO to look at it?

I miss more calls because of this than any other reason. A co-worker has the Moto Droid and that thing will vibrate so hard the phone will move across the desk. Thats what I am used to coming from BlackBerries. I would like to accomplish this without using a 3rd party app if possible.

Mar 18, 2010I looked around and really cont find an answer to this... I love 2.1 but now my phone barely works to make calls. I can make a call, but then if I try to make another, the phone will just go black. The other person says they can hear me, but I hear nothing. Is there a fix other than shutting off the phone after every call?

May 4, 2010I Got Open Home, and GDE. Used those for a while. and I like those. Sense is meh... But lately i've been noticing a lot of lag as well. I can barely finish a text without my phone lagging... >.< I would like to speed it up.... But I would also like to keep my warranty intact, I've seen some options. Updating to the Leak 2.1 v3 or Rooting. of these two I would prefer rooting... I like options lol like i said. and 2.1 v3 traps you on 2.1 v3 forever (as of now >.< )

Dec 16, 2009Google Voice runs flawlessly on my Droid. I recently purchased a Droid Eris for my wife, and while Google Voice SMS and inbound calling works fine, outbound calling does not. I notice that Google's "bridging number" used to connect me with the recipient on the Eris is different than the one used by my Droid. When dialing on my Droid, the call is routed through (518) 314-9466, while the problematic Eris is using (609) 987-0466. My wife's GV number is a (908) number which is probably why she is being routed through a (609) bridging number, both being South Jersey Area codes.
Does anyone think this is the problem? If so, is there a way to adjust which bridging number through which outbound calls are connnected. Has anyone else suffered this issue? We are really concerned as Google Voice integration was the primary reason for purchasing this phone. I thought to add that (i) I am using version 0.2.8 in all instances, (ii) the Eris has been updated with the recent OTA update from Verizon (though I didn't have a chance to use Google Voice beforehand to to determine if this is a post-update issue or not) and (iii) I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app from the market multiple times in hopes of rectifying this issue.

Apr 8, 2010Is there a way to make the sounds on the Eris louder? I have put in music from my computer using MP3 gain at 93 db. and it seems really quiet most of the time. I can try and raise the db some more, but does anyone know if there is a setting somewhere that is curbing the volume? My wife has the Eris too and her phone is louder playing the same song.
Mine seems to have quieted for some reason and it is not a speaker blown or anything. Just quieter than hers is and a bit hard to hear if in the car with the window down. I noticed it is really low in volume if I am listening to Last FM, Pandora, or Stitcher Radio. They are hard to hear at all if the window is slightly down.
