Motorola Droid X : Make Some On-screen Icons That Worked Like Buttons?
Aug 4, 2010I've read a little about the buttons being flimsy and hard to press/use. Does it take a lot of getting used to? Couldn't someone just make some on-screen icons that worked like buttons?

Jun 5, 2010This is the second time in the four days I have had the phone that the icons all disappeared and all the original screens have returned the only thing left unchanged was the icon I put a page to turn off the mobile web this is frustrating because I have to drag and drop my icons all over again though I think the first time was right after it upgraded to 2.1 but this time all I did was let it charge overnight and when i woke up they were all gone and the home pages all looked like they did when I first got it. I did try turning it off and back on but they are still gone

Jun 6, 2010I was wondering if someone could direct me to some good custom icons that I could use with Launcher Pro? I don't use the labels on apps so I would prefer icons that are self explanatory (that don't require labels, just images). I was also thinking of using some custom icons I have on my computer. Do I need to resize them? Or will they automatically shrink down to the proper size?

Apr 8, 2010there is a way to edit the text below your icons. For instance I would like my Handcent icon to instead say "messages" below it. Can I do that and if so how? Also on a side note, could someone enlighten me as to what all this UI business is about? Some people talk about using "sense" and some people use something else. What exactly do these user interfaces do and how do people change them?

Mar 13, 2010Anyone know where I can download the default 2.1 icons? I wanted to change my Opera shortcut from the Opera logo to the default Internet icon. I tried to use the SDK and grab the .apk but my phone is not being recognized. I don't know if that is a 2.1 issue or not, but it worked fine with 1.5.

Perhaps this is basic for the experts out there, but how do I get the SportsTap & Scoreboard icons which show your favorite teams/schedules/etc? I've installed both apps, but only get the standard icons: <o> for SportsTap and a 3-2 icon for Scoreboard.

May 7, 2010My phone died on me at work tonight. I got in my truck to come home and plugged in my car charger. When I turned on the phone it did the "Connect to pc screen" and I just selected charge only. It has never done this to me before. When I got home I also plugged it into the wall charger and it did the same thing. Also randomly now, the little headset with a microphone icon pops up. I have turned the phone on and off and also pulled the battery but it still does it.

Feb 6, 2010I've been hovering on the "Let's see you UI" thread for the last day or so. Really liking the icons some of you guys are showing. But everyone seems to being using Better Cut or Dxtop or something other than the standard UI. My questions.
1. If I download the above apps, do I loose Sense?
2. If yes to above, is there a way to use these cool icons on the standard UI so I can keep Sense?

Is there a way to reduce the spacing between folder icons? For example, 2.1 gives us four locations horizontally and vertically, but 5x5 should still allow accurate finger detection.

Oct 8, 2010Ever since I got my phone (January of this year) my contact icons will disappear randomly. I think it has to do with the facebook sync because all the other icons that I took pictures for are fine. My "People" list is just messed up in general - the update status shows up under the wrong contact icon, it never loads properly, really laggy, and the contacts who are facebook linked randomly show up and disappear. My phone is completely optimized for speed and performance. Its been almost one year and I still cant figure it out.

Apr 3, 2010On the people screen where you have the larger pics for your contacts some have a phone icon, others have a text icon and the index card icon. How can you get them to have the index card?
My problem is when I touch the pic it calls the person when what I want it to display the options, call, text, email etc. I know if you touch the bottom bar it does that but it takes some effort to get that right and not call someone by mistake.

Mar 25, 2010Hey everyone. Does anyone know of an app that lets you change the transparancy of your on screen icons and has anyone figured out a way to delete shortcuts inside of the bookmark widget? I'm on 2.1 and updated to the newest leaked rom yesterday. I still use the standard browser as well as Xscope and I liked the fact I could edit these but I can't seem to find a way to do that on the newest 2.1.
