Dec 22, 2009Does anyone know if you can make the text larger in the "messeges" application? If so, can you explain how? I love the phone except the fonts are so small it makes it hard for me to read incoming text messeges.

Jun 17, 2010I tried searching for an answer to this but maybe my wording isn't right. I want to know if I can make web pages appear larger on the screen when I'm using an internet browser. Before the 2.1 update I never had an issue seeing something but now I have to turn it vertical and squint really hard to see web pages, then pray I hit the right link b/c it's so small. I just want to increase my view but the options I've tried under settings must not be the right thing.

Jan 26, 2010I just picked up an ERIS yesterday. I'm coming from a BB Storm. If you could please answer these questions (or tell me if there is an app for it) I will be very appreciative.
1- How do I make all the fonts larger. Inlcuding the default system font for menus, SMS, calendar, etc.
2- How do I set the color of the LED for different notifications. I use to have Blue for e-mail, green for SMS and red for calls.
3- How do I set the notifications to repeat periodically. I've always used 2 mins.
4a- In the favorites screen how can I have just a list of individuals. It wants to use a photo and I do not use these. The space for the photo is just wasted.
4b- In the favorites screen how can I set up the same individual for multiple items. For instance: John - Mobile and John - SMS.
4c- If some one is familiar with Quicklaunch for the BB then I really need something like that. If this exists the 4b is not relevant.
5- Is there an app that will make the keyboard letters larger.
6- Can I speed up the accelerometer. It is woefully slow.
7- How do I delete a downloaded app that I no longer want. (I already uninstalled) but it still shows up as downloaded.

And the reviews seem to be pretty positive.Anyone have any experience with Page Plus?cause their plans are cheap....much cheaper than Verizon.

Feb 23, 2010I just bought an Eris on eBay and switched to Page Plus from Verizon last week. I probably should have waited, but didn't know about 2.x. Anyway, does anyone know if PPC would get the updates as well, since they use VZW's network? I'm guessing no, they would have to set up their own distribution, but don't really know. If not, the only hope I have is for it to be rooted and flash the ROM (or whatever), right? So I should add to the bounty, right?

Jan 5, 2010Using the browser, I am trying to access my companies intranet homepage.When I try to access the link, it usually presents a pop up login box but using the Eris it dows not. I get a page "You are not authorized to view this page" web page..Anyone else have this issue? Is this a limitation of Android? I've tried messing with all the settings and still nothing. No way to Log Into the page.I've even tried using Dolphin Browser, same thing.I believe we use Microsoft Sharepoint and other microsoft back end products

Aug 9, 2010How to change the fonts on your rooted Droid Eris. I'm not sure if this works for all Android phones, so backup your phone before proceeding. This DOES change key Android files, so be careful. If you brick your phone, it's not my fault.
First of all, go to this website and find a font you like:
1001 Free Fonts - Download Free Fonts for Windows and Macintosh
The file you download should be a .zip, and when unzipped be in the format .TTF. Copy the .TTF file to your SD card. I suggest SDCard/Fonts/. After finding a nice font, download Type Fresh from the Market (free). Also, pick up AndExplorer (free) while you're there. Type Fresh will allow you to change your fonts, and Andexplorer is used as a handy file explorer.
Run Type Fresh, and it will display all the system fonts that Android uses. Touch DroidSans, and it will display a window using AndExplorer. At this point it should request superuser permissions; allow it. Find the folder with your fonts, select a font, and press okay. Press menu and select apply fonts. Allow it to reboot your phone when it asks, and afterwards you should have a nice new font to make your Eris even sexier.

Mar 24, 2010I could not find this particular problem. i just switched to 2.1 and had a bit of trouble restoring my contacts with my backup pro. long story short, i imported most of my contacts back into gmail, did a sync but my contact card is inaccessible. it just reads loading with the working circle icon. i realize its not at the top of the list of problems but i would like to have all my info there in the event of losing the phone or otherwise. anyone else encounter this issue or have i popped?

Jun 16, 2010Wondering if there is a way to hide all my google contacts and facebook contact from my SMS Add Contact list function. It seems to pull in all my Google contacts not just my My Contacts but All Contacts (any one I have ever replied to) and all of my Facebook contacts, home numbers, I mean everyone. They do not show when I go to my people icon only in New Message Add Contact function.
