HTC Droid Eris :: Change Calendar Icon Colors
Jan 5, 2010
you know those little tick marks indicating an event on the days of the calendar when you look at it in monthly view? Anybody know a way to change the colors of those? I'd like to be able to glance at the big calendar and be able to quickly differentiate between a bill payment reminder and an actual event.

I have a Droid and I had a bunch of events in my Calendar. I wanted to sync them up with my google account so I went ahead and did that which is all fine. The only problem is before my events were a pleasant shade of light blue. Now they changed to a kind of ugly maroon-red color. Is there any way to change the color of the boxes?

I have a few folders that I have created on my home screens to consolidate some apps (i.e. navagation apps, shopping apps, music apps, tools, etc). I'm wanting to know if its possible to change the folder icon to something else WITHOUT using a home replacement, I'm not ready to give up sence yet.

I recently did a hard reset of my phone and it really cleaned things up and made things run faster (and I got rid of a bunch of apps I never really used.) I did notice that the calendar functions differently now. I used to be able to call up an individual day and see scheduled appointments, then I could swipe left or right on that day to go to the next day or previous day. You still can scroll through time that way in the full month display by swiping up and down but that functionality seems to be gone now for day views. Anyone else notice that change?

I just got to thinking and I realized that I change my layout each week, sometimes more then once in a week. I don't just mean add an icon or widget, i mean change icon appearances with BetterCut, rearrange icons/widgets...add/remove the amount of screens, change background images and lockscreens.....you get the point. so with that being said, how often do you change your eris layout???

I'm a new Moto Droid user. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the LED colors and if there is a way to control them. (I miss my blinking green LED on my BB that let me know I was connected to the Network, for example)

I've been searching everywhere on this issue but have not been able to find any solid answers. On my Droid X, all system buttons and lists, when pressed, are a bright red color. I want to find out how I can change this color. I'm not that familiar with android, so I don't know if this is an issue that can be solved via themes, or if I need to go deeper into the OS.

I would like to change the colors of the Wif bars on the status bar at top of screen I extracted the .png files (blue bars), opened them in Paint, and manually changed the color to yellow. Zipped them back up in Metamorph format and pushed them to my Metamorph format and pushed them to my sdcard Applied theme using Metamorph, and it worked, except that the background is now white. I created a theme using the original 5 files. I created a theme using the original 5 png's with blue bars, applied the theme, and it worked and it doesn't have the white background. I think I understand what's happening, but not sure how to format the pictures correctly so just the bars show without the background. Any help appreciated, thanks

There are a few ways to change the color of the clock, notification bar, and pull down menu.
Standard disclaimer: I take no responsibility for anything you do or screw up on your phone.
AdamZ has updated method A (now called Droid Customizer) and it now changes all notification colors. It will overwrite any other changes you have previously made to the services.jar and framework-res.apk files so the manual method is still useful for people who have already made changes and don't want to lose them.
A - [Release] Droid Customizer v1.0 *Updated 3/02* (edit 4/7/10: fixed this link)
If you are familiar with the installation process of the smoked glass themes then this is an option. Has 13 color options as well as 12 font options that you can use.
B - Manually (sorta) change everything. I did it this way because AdamZ's method in A wasn't out yet and I think the way described in method A might overwrite other changes you have made (not sure on that though)
This will probably look long with a lot of steps but it really isn't too complicated.
Prerequisits
Rooted
Android sdk installed and some familiarity with adb
adb info: Start Here | Root Your Droid
1 - Plug in your phone and don't mount the sd card.
2 - On your computer open a command prompt and navigate to the android sdk tools folder.
3 - Type these commands:
Code: ...

So, my Eris has been charging for a while, and I was playing Cestos, and noticed my LED was alternating between Green and Amber. So I exited my game, thinking I probably had an E-mail. Well I didn't. I unplugged my charger, plugged it back in, and it continued this for about 15 minutes. It isn't doing it now, but I just would like to know the cause of it.

So on Android, when we tap on something in the menus it shows up as orange or, on Sense devices, green. Now, I've got nothing major against green. But I would definitely love to have blue or red there instead. Though, I've tried searching the market and internet for a solution to no avail.Does anyone have a solution to my oh-so-simple-but-serious-yet-still-small problem?

When I try and create different calendars in the Googlemail/GMail calendar the events show up on my phone, but they don't have the same color as the calendar on the PC.

So the large calendar widget that I placed on my home screen used to show dark little tabs in the corner of everyday that I had an event. While I was looking through it, all of the little tabs disappeared and I have no idea what days I have events unless I go into the actual calendar app. Is there any way to keep them there permanently?

I'm working on an android application, and I have a drawable that I'm loading up from a source image. On this image, I'd like to convert all of the white pixels to a different color, say blue, and then cache the resultant Drawable object so I can use it later. So for example say I have a 20x20 PNG file that has a white circle in the middle, and that everything outside the circle is transparent. What's the best way to turn that white circle blue and cache the results? Does the answer change if I want to use that source image to create several new Drawables (say blue, red, green, orange, etc)?I'm guessing that I'll want to use a ColorMatrix in some way, but I'm not sure how.

My app was built on the Android 1.5 platform. I'm in the process of bumping the APIs used to 2.1 . I am still leaving minSdkVersion=3 / targetSdkVersion = 7 in order to support older platforms.
I've made the required drawbles-hdpi / -mdpi - ldpi-v4 folders. Everything is looking great across various AVDs of HVGA/WVGA shapes and sizes.
Everything, except my tabs.
In AVDs running Android 1.5 and 1.6, my tab background colors are appropriate: http://www.shelvesforandroid.com/1p6below.png
However, for platforms running 2.1 and above, something seems to have gone awry:

Notice that the unselected tab color is correct, but the selected tab looks like it's just bleeding the same color as my images.
What can I do to fix this? Enforce the background color to be the same as 1.6-era ?
What is causing this tab color change?

I have a couple of list views, one uses TextViews laid out with xml, the other uses a custom class derived from View. The default halloween color scheme is pretty ugly. How can I change the background and selection colors for the list elements. Ideally, I'd like to be able to do this in code not xml, to handle the custom view.
