HTC Droid Eris :: Stock Weather App Update Automatically?
Mar 26, 2010Whenever I click on the Update automatically button in the settings for the stock weather app, it says "Data warning This may result in additional charges from your wireless provider. Enable automatic download of weather data?" Will I be charged more? I don't understand.

HTC Droid Eris :: Weather And E-mail App Don't Update / Get Them To Work?
Mar 17, 2010I have the HTC clock weather widget on my home screen and have the phone set to get email from my aol account. The weather never updates (will show a sunny day at night) and the mail has also stopped updating. Is there a connection? the GPS is on. Sometimes i will get a message on screen saying com.htc.provider has stopped force close? I dont know what that means.
any ideas?
HTC Droid Eris :: Got 2.1 Update - Cant Find Digital Clock - Weather Widget
May 15, 2010Girlfriend just got the 2.1 OTA update and there only seems to be one clock widget. What am I missing here? The android widgets only show an analog clock and I can't find any widgets under HTC widgets. Nothing. At all. No widgets whatsoever... Anybody had this issue, can help me out here? I'm waiting for my OTA update and would love to have this fixed before I get my phone updated.

May 17, 2010I did a factory reset because i thought it would fix a number of problems i had before and after the 2.1 OTA.
1. HTC's weather app wouldn't update on it's own or manually (sometimes) (not a force close issue)
2. Mobile network issue. Places where i would get 3-4 bars got 1-2 (sometimes 3) and the "D" under 3G mostly changes to the up down arrow. This was on 1.5 and might have to wait maybe another day to see if this continue on 2.1.
3. apps is my main issue. I know all the apps are in the download section on the market and i saved my apps in the SD card but when I reinstalled, scores and profiles from different apps and not there. Is there a way to restore the apps to where there they where before the factory reset instead of the apps acting like it's been just downloaded.

May 2, 2010HTC Weather Widget always worked fine. Not sure when it quit but now it is stuck on New York (where I have never had the phone ...), wont display the current location, and wont update the temps.

My first problem is that my swype is not working right anymore. It will let me type, but it will not let me swype. It says that this was configured for a previous version or something. May 17, 2010So since the 2.1 OTA my weather widget will display the city, but no weather icon. if i sync it manually, it will show up. with 1.5 it would update every 3 hours, regardless if i had Background data on or off (i normally keep it off).
so now with 2.1 it wont sync unless i have BG data on, or do it manually. any way around this?

Apr 3, 2010Over the past couple days, it seems like my Weather Channel app hasn't been working properly. When I move to the home screen that has the widget, it will be displaying the wrong temperature and picture (i.e. it might be showing "partly sunny" when it's night time). It just shows the temperature for the last time I opened the app.So, I click on the widget to open the app, and it brings me to one of the screens and it just says "N/A", while a green circle rotates in the upper-right corner. After a few seconds, it finally updates and shows me the current temperature/forecast (whichever screen I was in last).I've never had these problems before, up until the past few days. Usually I would just move over to my other home screen, look at the temp, and move back. It would always be [somewhat] updated by itself (usually every 30-60 minutes it seemed). Now it doesn't update until I actually open the app.Any ideas or suggestions? Or is anyone else having this problem? I am using the Droid Eris. I restarted the phone yesterday, still doing the same thing.

May 18, 2010I use Taskiller to "kill" or end active programs that I'm not using, so as to reduce battery drain. I notice with 2.1 that every time I power up, lots of apps are launched automatically. This wasn't the case with 1.9. Anybody know if there's a way to prevent this?

Nov 10, 2009First time trying to send a photo via text message (MMS). On any number of my previous phones, the phone would automatically resize the image so that it wasnt too large to send. That does not appear to be happening on the Eris. I sent one photo, and it was nearly 1100kb. Then another photo I attempted to send would not attach, because it said it was too large (it was like 1250kb in size). So, is there a way to have it automatically resize a photo that is being sent via MMS? Or will I need to do that manually beforehand with an app from the Market, like Picasa or something of the sort?

Sep 30, 2010I was up one night, with my rooted eris. Lying in bed, texting my girlfriend because she refused to let me sleep, I thought nothing of it. My phone was plugged in, and I fell asleep on top of it.Now most of the time my phone will automatically scroll to the left.I have reset my phone and tried other ROMs and it's all the same. Apr 11, 2010When I use the phone to check voicemails, why doesn't the keypad come up automatically with checking them? My HTC Touch and phones before this did. If you put a number in for the password, it should pop up to enter it without hitting the keypad icon.
