Nov 7, 2009i figured out how to make the USB cord find the droid when you plug it in the comp, you drag down the notification menu and hit "mount" and it pops up the folders on windows.. i got that part
but i was wondering if there was a way to just make the folders pop up automatically so you don't have to drag the notification menu every time and hit "mount".
HTC Incredible :: Market "Update All" Feature - Automatically Update
Sep 8, 2010With 2.2 we got the market feature to update all which will just update all of the apps that have outstanding updates in the market.
What I cannot figure out is how to stop one particular app from updating, specifically I do not want to update the Facebook app since there are many reviews saying it is a big battery drainer and I do not use the app anyway.
Also, anytime I download a new app from the market, it automatically starts the download of the Facebook update, so I have to cancel it or if I don't catch it in time I have to uninstall the update. For both instances it just appears in my update queue again and I have the same problem next time.
So basic question is: Is there any way to select an app to not automatically update with the update all feature, or can we turn off the update all feature?

May 10, 2010I have noticed that many of my applications seem to automatically close making the phone seem "slower" when I try to reopen recently opened applications. The main applications that I have noticed closing are Handcent and the home screen (extremely annoying when the home screen needs to reload randomly). I have Advanced Task Manager (put the items i dont want closed on exclude) and noticed that when i click refresh some of the items sometimes disappear. I've tried turning off Advanced Task Manager and still have the some issue...Here are some things to know about my droid:
Rooted, Running Bugless Beast v1.0 -
Running at up to 1ghz (tried lowering and didn't make a difference)
Using Helix Launcher 2 (tried switched to default home screen and also no difference)

Sep 4, 2010I've had a problem with my apps not automatically restoring when I flash a custom ROM.I'm not using titanium but using Google's service as I log in with mg Google account.Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?The last ROM I tried to flash was Chevy's 4.7 and no apps came through from the market but all of my contacts synced.

Sep 11, 2010I have a moto droid 1 and my wifi keeps messing up. When I go into wifi to turn on, it will say "turning on" but then immediately say "turning off." It will continually do this over and over again until finally saying "error." Not really sure why or how to fix this, but it is pretty annoying that I can't use my wifi.

After I logged into my google account, and everything synced down, I got a message in the notification bar saying "35 applications restored"? My applications didn't get restored when I went from DroidMod 1.0, wiped everything, and then went to CyanogenMod 5.0.7.1 with a full wipe of 2.1. Is this a new feature of 2.2?

Jul 16, 2010I just upgraded from the Droid to the Droid X and am now having a problem. The email I receive through gmail works fine with emails arriving automatically and the notification settings working. The problem is with the regular email program that comes with the phone and my Yahoo account. Even though I believe I have it set up to automatically check email and to receive notification when it arrives, I only get new email when I manually open the app.

Dec 22, 2009I always like to have all my apps updated to the latest release and because of this I go to the Market->Downloads and checks for available updates about four times a day. Usually there's always updates sitting there. The hassle is when there's so many to go through them all and and install them.
Is there any app out there that can go through and constantly check for updates and install them automatically?
If not then I'm hoping someone can make one. It seems like a pretty simple thing to make. Then again I'm not a Dev so what do I know?

Jul 10, 2010I definitely did not want to make a thread about this because I'm certain it has to have been made before, but I searched and searched and couldn't find a thread, so here goes.Ever since the update (the one like two weeks ago, the one that caused crashes and they pulled but eventually put back up) GTalk starts itself automatically. I already changed the settings so that it wouldn't start, and everything was great. But since the update, it randomly starts automatically. All the settings are still set to off, but it will start up whenever it feels like it. It's gotten to the point where almost every time I pick up my phone, I have to check Running Services to turn of GTalk.This is affecting everyone, I'm guessing? Has there been any news about it? Fixes?Also, somewhat off-topic, but I've been away from the forums for about two weeks. I've been on vacation. Have I missed anything big? Have there been anymore updates, besides the one which caused the crashes (and they ended up putting it back up, right? I didn't download the still glitchy version, right?).

Is there a way to update those instances that are not downloaded through Market, since Market won't notify users about an update. I was thinking about, as suggested here, trying to contact my site periodically, and when update is available, download it. I'm wondering if there is a way to do this update automatically, so that user doesn't have to do anything (like running the package manually). Or, when my site shows update is available, to offer users an update through Market, even though it's not installed through Market. EDIT: This Market option would be preferable, because than users wouldn't have to check "allow install of non-Market sources".

Nov 13, 2009Until now I had my screen set to auto brightness.First, +1 to those who said in other threads that the screen looks even better when you turn that off and put brightness all the way up.But my question here is why, on auto brightness, the screen sometimes increased or decreased brightness when I was using it. It happened all the time. The only thing I can rule out as the cause was time delay, because sometimes it happened as I was typing or just after, and sometimes it would happen after a delay. I think it must be connected to either orientation, or movement, or brightness sensor detecting the ambient light, or something.If I could figure out how to make it stop doing that I would go back to auto-brightness.
