When I use the phone to check voicemails, why doesn't the keypad come up automatically with checking them? My HTC Touch and phones before this did. If you put a number in for the password, it should pop up to enter it without hitting the keypad icon.

So I have everything set up to automatically use my Google Voice number now, and started getting SMS texts in both my messaging inbox and in GV. I figured out I needed to turn off the SMS forwarding in GV, but it turns out I like using the default messaging app more than the one in GV.
Is there a way to make the GV app stop checking for SMS messages but still download my voicemail? I don't want to make it stop checking all together but I'd like to use the other app for SMS's.
I am making an supply app for my sis and on the edit screen she will need the key pad, will the key pad come up automatically or do i have to add something?

When I dial 333 to connect to my voicemail I can't get the keypad to come up and therefore can't navigate through the 3 voicemail service. I can only listen to my first message, can't delete, save or move to next message. Please help me in my struggle to bring up the keyboard or my Xperia gets a hose head in its bed.

Ever since I've reinstalled it it refuses to use the carrier voicemail and insists on fowarding to my Google Voice account. Now this isn't terrible except for the fact that since it insists on going to Google Voice it takes 45 seconds to pickup. I really want my google voice number and my vzw phone # voicemail to be separate.

I've had this annoying problem with dialing a number, placing the phone up to my face and suddenly finding my call being placed on hold as the phone is attempting to dial another number. What's happening, you say? Well, as the phone is being placed up to my ear, my ear is inadvertently touching the keypad of the phone and dialing. I thought the phone was supposed to automatically shut off the screen during a live call so as to prevent accidental dialing, no?

My credit card company called me with an automated message to notify me about possible fraud on one of my credit cards. At one point to continue with the call, I had to press "1", but the onscreen keypad would not come up when I tapped on the keypad icon. I kept tapping but nothing happened, and ended up losing the call. The keypad icon has worked on other calls, just not this one.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a pop e-mail account set up on my incredible to check every 10 minutes for new e-mail, but it never does. the only time it checks for new mail is when I manually launch the mail app. My Gmail account works fine. I will send myself a e-mail from my gmail account to my pop e-mail account (another email address) and that email will not hit my incredible until I manually launch the mail app.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo, I had I think a free version or something of Visual voicemail before on myBB. Of course thatjust transferred over to my Eris when I got it last Dec. But, that voicemail service would alway send texts when I recieved a new VM and it got annoying so I turned off the notifications. When I did, I just stored the voicemails # to dial in my contacts. Unfortunately I must have done it as a phone contact rather than google because when I reset my phone the number was gone. therefore I have no way of checking my voicemail... any ideas?

Also, it works even if you are on wifi, so no more annoying error messages while using wifi. It tempararily activates 3G to get your voicemails while you are on wifi. It works great so far.

When I listen to my voicemails, they play through the speakerphone.I have tried to turn off the speakerphone by pushing the menu button when I am in Visual VM.I looked in options and preferences and can't find a way to set the phone so the voicemail doesn't play for everyone to hear.Any ideas?Also, what exactly are the benefits of paying an extra $2.99 a month for this service?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue where occasionally a call will go straight to my voicemail without ringing or otherwise notifying until there suddenly appears a voicemail. And I don't think it even shows up as a missed call. Anyone else have this happen or know what the cause may be? My phone is set to ring & vibrate, and is usually just sitting there asleep. I'm not on another call or otherwise using it. But I can test call it right after and it's fine. Frustrating.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I just got my Google Voice invite today, and rushed through the setup process. I now can't for the life of me, figure out how to NOT use my Google Voice voicemail and just use the standard Verizon voicemail.
When I go to Settings>Call>Voicemail Service and toggle it back to "My Carrier" and then dial *86 instead of getting my Verizon inbox choices it gives me my Google Voice voicemail greeting and prompts me to leave a message.
I've toggled the "Google Voicemail" and "My Carrier" setting back and forth a few times to no avail, tried to reboot, unlinked and uninstalled everything and still can't seem to figure out how to get back to the normal Verizon voicemail box. I know I'll eventually get comfortable with GV that I'll just want to use that, but for the time being I'd like to use my Verizon voicemail. Not to mention that there were 4 messages in that inbox that I hadn't listened to yet and now I cannot find them or access them anywhere.
I got a Google Voice invite about a week ago, and while I mainly just wanted the voicemail perks, I went for the new number, just so I could have all the bells and whistles when I eventually need them.
In the meantime, however, rather than let the account sit idle, I really wanted to figure out how to use the Voice visual voicemail for my Verizon line. I was on an iPhone for almost two years--I'm never going to go without visual voicemail again. But I'm not paying Verizon for it, the third-party apps I've tried all had enough annoying traits to drive me away, and hot damn, inaccurate as it may be, I want voicemail transcription if only for the comedic benefits of reading the mad-lib transcriptions of friends' voicemails.
So, anyway, I finally stumbled across this post on the Google forums, giving a step-by-step procedure to redirect your missed/ignored/busy calls to your google voice account. (Basically, you make three calls using prefixes and your google voice number to set the redirects... the instructions also include all of the codes to undo all the redirects if/when you decide to go back to normal.) I tried it out, it took all 60 seconds to set up, and it works beautifully.
Depending on how your voice account is set up, you may need to adjust some settings (so you don't get an email, text, AND google voice notification every time you get a voicemail, which I quickly discovered was quite annoying).
Again, this only works if you have a Google Voice account, with a new number (but then, if you got GV for an existing number, you wouldn't have to go through all this).
So I just called Verizon, my original Eris was returned because I couldn't answer calls before they went to voicemail, and now I have the silent speaker bug, I can't hear anyone on through the speaker and they can't hear me on the other side. Has anyone had luck with the replacements? Maybe I'm just getting bad ones.
