I use stuff like Clockr, TextOClock, & BattStat.
I want to find a weather one that automatically grabs location. TypoWeather is OK for now, but does anyone know of a text weather app that will autograb location?

I tap weather icon, get current location no city name and the weather info, I then tap "+" hit my location and it finds my city Corning NY, I add this to the weather app, I close out and hit weather app again and now I have to locations, the one that says current location and the one that says Corning NY, both weather datas are the same. My question is how to I delete or get rid of the current location weather data screen and have only the Corning NY screen when I open the weather app? The data for both is the same but I don't want 2 locations(one named) for the same data.

Mine worked for a day and now I get the location but no weather update.
All other locations display all info fine.
Im in Australia on Vodafone - although from the previous mentioned thread seems to be software related rather than carrier location
Over the past couple days, it seems like my Weather Channel app hasn't been working properly. When I move to the home screen that has the widget, it will be displaying the wrong temperature and picture (i.e. it might be showing "partly sunny" when it's night time). It just shows the temperature for the last time I opened the app.So, I click on the widget to open the app, and it brings me to one of the screens and it just says "N/A", while a green circle rotates in the upper-right corner. After a few seconds, it finally updates and shows me the current temperature/forecast (whichever screen I was in last).I've never had these problems before, up until the past few days. Usually I would just move over to my other home screen, look at the temp, and move back. It would always be [somewhat] updated by itself (usually every 30-60 minutes it seemed). Now it doesn't update until I actually open the app.Any ideas or suggestions? Or is anyone else having this problem? I am using the Droid Eris. I restarted the phone yesterday, still doing the same thing.

The reason for this app is because I am a vanpool driver and it would be great if I could notify my riders when I am getting close to their house so that they are waiting for me when I pull up. I have the stock News/Weather widget on my main screen and when I try to Use my Location setting, the weather widget displays No Weather Location Available. I tried turning on my gps and wifi but it still doesn't work. The news part updates fine its just the weather that is not working. It was working for a month and then it stopped working. Anyone know a fix for this?

I have turned off GPS and background sync to save battery and I am assuming this is the reason why it isn't updating. Can someone confirm this is the reason? BTW I absolutely love the phone!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have two EVOs at home (mine and the wifes) and both have the same problem, the weather app is set to use the gps location yet it returns the wrong location. The location isn't just off a little bit either, it reports our location as being a city over 160 miles away. I find sometimes the gps reports the location wrong in the maps as well. Is there a way to calibrate the how, and is anyone else experiencing this issue? It doesn't seem to be signal problem as I am in a strong 4g location and when off of 4g always on 3g.

I have added a second location that is my location, but as "#2" it isn't the one that shows on my main screen. I can see a button to "rearrange", but it is grayed out. When I hit the delete button, my only option to delete is the #2 location that I added. How can I edit or delete the #1 location?

Maybe according to the network location I am in that town but when I go to maps and it uses GPS it realizes the proper city. The weather app often makes this mistake. I thought when I setup my device it may have asked if I want to use GPS or just network location for something but I can't find that setting anymore. Any ideas on how to get more accurate current location for the weather widget?

I have a debranded Desire running the updated radio rom (the one that restores the broken wifi)
My Hero rebooted itself when i cut it off and cut it back on due to aggravation of lag. after spending half the day fooling with getting back some apps, my contacts from google and the whole issue with syncing facebook to my contacts. i thought i could easily just look up my city for the weather widget location.
Well before the reboot my weather showed just fine, my location and everything. now my city isn't even in the data base and my gps and such is turned on. some of the directions ive read on using the gps to find my location has become a headache because i don't think i have those features.
When i go into my weather settings and click the + sign it goes straight to search location. i type in the name of my city and it doesn't come up.
Generally my location is detected normally but on occasion i get a number instead of the town i am in on the home screen clock widget. Same goes with the weather widget. I know its not a problem with the town information because sometimes it works and generally does so after being at the location for awhile. However today, for example, my location at work simply displays as "5". It has not updated itself after about 8 hours and counting. Friday it was fine.
