HTC Droid Eris :: Picture Won't Show Up In View Picture?
Feb 7, 2010I use the backgrounds app, and it lets me save backgrounds to my SD card. I go into Astro/ sdcard/ backgrounds and then click on the picture. It gives me 2 options to open it. "ASTRO Image Viewer" and "View picture". For me to use it as a background I have to pull it up in "View picture", BUT....no matter how many times I try and pull it up that way, it shows me the first picture in my camera album. If I click "ASTRO Image Viewer", I can always see the picture I selected, but under menu, I only have the option to "share" and nothing else. Can you tell me why the selected picture won't show up in "View picture"?

Jun 4, 2010I have my ringtone set to a modest mouse song and when someone calls it does what its suppose to do and ring. But on the other end of the line whoever is calling will get my voice mail and my phone will continue to play the song until its over. Jan 16, 2010Let me preface this by saying I am a 48-hours deep Android NOOB, so I apologize if the solution to this is something unbelievably simple that I have just overlooked. I don't think it is, because I am very experienced with WinMo, BB, and WebOS and don't usually pull NOOB type moves.
So, I have a Droid Eris. Actually, I have two. Well, I have one and she has one, anyway. I have had no trouble with hooking mine up to the computer with USB, mounting it, and moving files back and forth. One of the first things I did was load files on.
When I try and hook hers up, I plug it in with the same USB cable (one of the cables that came with them, btw), mount it, and nothing happens. It isn't recognized by the computer. The first time I did this with her phone, I had a little balloon pop up on the task bar that said something about "installing HTC Dream".
If I go to my computer tho, nothing is there that could be the phone. I checked my device manager in the control panel, and under "ADB Interface" i have HTC Dream listed. This is as far as I have gotten with this. This all came about because she couldn't figure out how to set the theme song from the office as her tone for text messaging. I hooked it up to the computer to try and see if I could move the file into a different folder to try and set it, and ran into this f-stick of a problem.
HTC Droid Eris :: Need To Set Whole Picture As Wallpaper
Jan 18, 2010Are you guys having trouble setting wallpaper. Here is the problem i want to set the whole picture as the wallpaper but when you set as on the eris a box pops up the picture and you have to adjust it. I don't want that I want the whole dam picture. Are you guys having trouble. I found a website that has wallpaper with correct size but when i send it to myself i have to adjust the picture with that dang box.

Feb 16, 2010I just got my droid eris last night, and i love it! This is the first smart phone i've ever had, so i'm still learning about it.
I was really sad when i saw the quality of the photos that i took. Heres one.
I looked around on the forums before posting, and the issues i found similar to mine were on different phones, but i tried them anyways. Those threads suggested adjusting the flicker and Iso settings. messed with both, and there really wasn't a difference. I don't have the little plastic film on it either lol

HTC Droid Eris :: Sending Picture Mms?
Jan 18, 2010I'm not sure if this had already been addressed but is anyone having trouble sending picture (or video, etc.) mms on the eris? I'm currently using handcent and it would not send any picture texts. The sending green bubble keeps spinning no matter how long I leave it. Then the text becomes "undelivered."
I also tried sending picture mms with the native message app and it got sent but the people I was trying to send it to said they didn't receive anything.

Jun 12, 2010so i decided i want to use the picture frame widget again after not using it for a while... but now when i go to choose a photo it uses astro as the browser this would be ok but as soon as I select which picture i would like to use it says: "Sorry! The application Photos has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."Then it force closes and I can't use the widget.Anyone else using Astro with this problem? Any solutions on how to use the default picture browser instead?

When I take a picture and share it in messages it says picture is too large and starts compressing it. It compresses it down to 14kb. Dec 21, 2009When I go to attach a picture file on my droid eris for a message, it automatically resizes it, only problem is, that the pictures were never too big to begin with, usually aroun100-300kb and then when it does resize it, it goes down to 12kb on average, a tiny picture with a big black frame on the screen. What gives? Using stock message program. No other complaints about the message program, so not looking to switch.

Mar 17, 2010Alright...here is the final solution to the Droid Eris picture message issues! My phone was giving me a gray "download" box when I got a MMS picture message from ANYONE. I clicked the button and it does nothing but give me an error message.
I went into Verizon with this problem and they admitted to me that there is a KNOWN problem in the HTC Droid Eris line. The early models of the Eris have a hardware problem. HTC was so focused on getting their 3G data right, that they skipped an essential part of the 1x data where MMS picture messages come through over all networks.
Basically, I asked the Verizon rep why they didn't tell any of us users who purchased the Eris from the earliest models and they told me that it was an HTC error, not theirs. All they can do is replace the phone to one of the newer models. I just had this done, and it works perfectly. They could have easily contacted all users with the Eris and said that HTC had a problem instead of leaving us to figure it out on our own. They could have provided good customer service and decided not to do so!!
This is the only solution and the Verizon rep knew about the problem and was very helpful. I told him that I was going to post this online, telling ALL users who purchased the early models of the Eris (I got mine in late-November) to take it into Verizon and have a replacement ordered.
All of my paid apps transferred, contacts transferred, pictures transferred, etc...just had to set up my scenes again and download my free apps again...not a big deal!
