I have my ringtone set to a modest mouse song and when someone calls it does what its suppose to do and ring. But on the other end of the line whoever is calling will get my voice mail and my phone will continue to play the song until its over. I know most of you are going to say "Factory Reset!" but im trying to trouble shoot before i go that route.

How can I set a custom file I downloaded as my default ringtone? I got it off babilo.com and I want to make it my default... But I cant seem to find the song anywhere on my phone to make it my ringer?
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I've been having an issue with Google Play Music where when I play a song, it plays for a second then pauses, so I have to press play to get it going again. This occurs repetitively which means I can't listen to music.
It happens on songs that are being streamed and on songs that are on the device.
Funnily enough, if the song is played through ES file explorer and the little play music popup window comes up, it plays fine.
I've got this issue on both my devices, a tf101 running 4.3 and a nexus 5 with stock 4.4 rooted.
Edit: just remembered, I've also got this issue with MX Player and videos. I can't figure out what's wrong.
Streamed videos played through the gallery video player work fine.
My biggest problem these days seems to be around the reminder tones for text messages, e-mails, calendar, etc. They only ring one time and it is this little bitty noise. If you don't hear it then you are out of luck unless you just happen to look at your phone. Is there an app where I can put different tones that will continue to beep with reminders until I acknowledge it?

I was wondering if its possible to use it to play music hands free. I see that there is an option for it under searchable items by going to Menu>Search>Searchable Items>Music, but I haven't been able to get any results by saying things like "play artist Radiohead" or just saying "Radiohead". It just brings up web search results.

It doesn't always ring at max volume but maybe 1 out of 3 times. Does anyone else have this problem? I have 2.1 second leak installed.
I reset all my data before installing the leak. Anyway to fix this? Aside from this I have no other problems with 2.1.

This has happened even when the ringer volume is turned all the way up (it's much too easy to inadvertently lower the ringer volume, but that's another story). Yeah, I know - I live in New York City, where it's easy to not hear a phone ring, but I've missed calls even when I'm in a totally quiet room. Just now, I was sitting with the phone on the table in front of me, and it started lighting up with an incoming call, but the ringer made no sound. I checked and the ringer was up 3/4 of the way, so it should have been ringing.
View 25 Replies View RelatedI recently picked up a used Eris and love it. It's my first Android phone, and it works flawlessly--most of the time. My main issue is the volume settings. None of them actually adjust; my ringer and notifications ring at full volume all the time and my In-call volume is absurdly loud. I have searched this forum and have found many have issues with low volume. My problem is the opposite. I have tried adjusting the volume in the settings screen and while on the phone talking to somebody. Neither works. While adjusting the ringer volume, it just rings at the loudest volume all the time. My firmware version is 2.1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedJust wondering, on 1.5, the Ringer/Alerts volume was locked together so however loud the Ringer volume was, the notification volume would be the same. Since upgrading to 2.1 OTA, they are no longer linked together. Is there any way I can link them back together so they are they same volume without having to individually change each one? It's kind of annoying when I set my Ringer volume to low, and all of the sudden I get a text and it's almost 3 times as loud.

View 7 Replies View RelatedLet me preface this by saying I am a 48-hours deep Android NOOB, so I apologize if the solution to this is something unbelievably simple that I have just overlooked. I don't think it is, because I am very experienced with WinMo, BB, and WebOS and don't usually pull NOOB type moves.
So, I have a Droid Eris. Actually, I have two. Well, I have one and she has one, anyway. I have had no trouble with hooking mine up to the computer with USB, mounting it, and moving files back and forth. One of the first things I did was load files on.
When I try and hook hers up, I plug it in with the same USB cable (one of the cables that came with them, btw), mount it, and nothing happens. It isn't recognized by the computer. The first time I did this with her phone, I had a little balloon pop up on the task bar that said something about "installing HTC Dream".
If I go to my computer tho, nothing is there that could be the phone. I checked my device manager in the control panel, and under "ADB Interface" i have HTC Dream listed. This is as far as I have gotten with this. This all came about because she couldn't figure out how to set the theme song from the office as her tone for text messaging. I hooked it up to the computer to try and see if I could move the file into a different folder to try and set it, and ran into this f-stick of a problem.
I recently had to play a song often and i wanted to do it quickly.I did one method.However, i request all here to tell me your way of opening the mp3 or video file very quickly.Generally i believe that everyone goes to gallery or video player or audio player and they go navigate to that particular song and play it. Am i right?

when I want to stream one particular song I noticed that the Google Play Music app downloads and caches the previous/next few songs for quicker access. How can I prevent this? It uses a lot of data and I usually only want to listen to the one song I chose to stream.
For example if I play a 6 mb song i noticed it uses about 40 mb to stream just that one song. Then I selected a different song to stream and immediately went into settings > download queue and noticed it was loading more songs than the one I requested. I only want to listen to the 1 song I chose, so how can I prevent the other songs from loading? As far as I can see there is no way in the app's settings but there has to be another way to stop this inconvenience.
P.S. I have a T999 galaxy s3 running on stock rooted ICS
Does anyone else have to power cycle their droid once a day to get emails to down load. Usually once a day the emails stop. To get them to start again, I need to power cycle the phone then the emails continue for around a day then stop again. Thoughts?
View 7 Replies View RelatedOk, I have had a Motorola Droid since they released the phone and my battery has been great. I could charge it overnight and take it off the charger around 6:30 am and when I put it back on the charger around 9 - 10 pm at night I would still have anywhere from 50% to higher battery life and this is after very heavy usage.
Beginning a few days ago I noticed that my Droid battery indicator is showing almost completely drained out by 6 pm and I really used my phone lightly yesterday and today. Today and yesterday both, the red LED was blinking and the battery indicator was showing almost completely dead by 6 pm. I pulled up the battery usage on the phone and it is showing the 'browser' as the biggest battery hog for some reason. Today it was showing 81% of the battery usage was from the browser. I hardly, if at all, used the browser today. I also checked the firmware version and it is showing 2.0.1, which I never updated it myself.
Are there any suggestions about why the browser would be draining the battery down so bad, when the browser has not even been used? Is there a way to close out the browser so it doesn't continue sucking the battery dry, besides using an app killer program?I did search the forum and did not see a specific question/answer to my question. I know I had read that some people were seeing battery issues after upgrading to 2.0.1, but I did not upgrade my phone, it must have done it.
tells me that my device does not have the correct applications to play the video. What apps do I need and where can I get them?
