I was texting my brother tonight and he said I kept sending the same text over and over.Up to 6 times.The problem is when he let me know this,I had already deleted our entire conversation.Anybody else have this problem?I haven't had a lot of problems with my phone until the past two months.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI called tech support for the third time because of an issue with my Eris not receiving texts. I spent an hour of useless troubleshooting with him having to turn my phone off and on a bunch and doing a factory reset. After that didn't fix it (surprise surprise, all that inconvenience for nothing) he tells me I'll have to have it replaced with a refurb. I told him that I don't consider a refurbished phone to be an equal replacement and I'm happy to pay a fee of some kind to get a new Eris, just like I would if I went through the insurance (cause those are new, right? if they're refurbs I'll be pissed...). He LAUGHED at me, and said "Every time a phone comes to the end of its term people call in with excuses to get the new model. This is why we don't make exceptions, or else more people like you would be calling in."

I went to the verizon store and all they said was to just take out battery, ive done that a couple times and its gotten worse. Does anyone know a way to fix it. I'm aware of Verizon's limit on text messaging characters but this is odd.I can send texts going beyond 160 characters but when I receive them, that's when the trouble starts. I'll get the text broken up into 2-3 separate texts, but always followed up by another message stating "Media Objects were removed...". Then, the person sending the text receives a message stating their text may have not been received. This is all between Verizon to Verizon customers.Anyone know what's going on? or how to fix it? Did not have this problem with other Verizon phones so I'm guessing it's only applying to the Droid/Eris?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI was texting my friend last night, and suddenly she just stopped replying. I was confused but I didn't think much of it. Then, later, on facebook I was talking to her again, and she said she never got the last two texts that I tried to send. Both the stock messages app, and chompsms say they were sent (I think is there some way to check for sure). I was wondering if anyone else had this issue. Its only a few texts every so often, but it was annoying.

so i just did factory reset, and texts wont send. SMS. get the error: SMS Error General Problems, Cause Code: 34, Error Class:2 come on, i thought factory reset was supposed to make EVERYTHING ALL BETTER you know how when sending a text, it swtiches to 1x? yeah well mines not doing that; it's staying on 3G.

I am no newcomer to the HTC Droid Eris. Just recently my phone has deleted ALL of my text messages. I do not have a limit on how many texts I can hold in my inbox. But it has deleted all of my texts atleast 5 times in the last 2 weeks.

Lately, not all the time, whenever I send a text, I watch the reception bar at the top and it is not dropping to 1x to send the text. In addition, some of my friends have not been receiving my texts when I send them.
Are these two things related? I swear I've seen it before where it drops to 1x to send the text, and then goes back to 3G..
I guess it's also possible that the phone is dropping to 1x, but the bar up top isn't updating?
I was so excited when I had upgraded to 2.1 that my texts were sending fast, but then I realized it was just because the phone had no texts. If I try to delete threads, the phone freezes on the spinning wheel, and no other 3rd party app has worked either.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEven after numerous factory resets, through both the Volume Down+Send+End and Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset methods, my Eris has been unable to send or receive texts, and will not allow me to send or receive calls. When I try to text, I get an SMS error with Cause Code: 34 and Error Class: 3. When I try to call, I get an automated error saying that my phone can't be authenticated at this time, and am advised to call #8899. Even after doing so, I get the same authentication error. Wi-Fi seems to work correctly, and my Google and Facebook accounts all sync pretty much perfectly. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? And, either way, does anyone know of any possible alternatives that may fix the problem besides a total replacement of the phone?

Alright call me cheap, but I only have the $5 250 messages on my plan but it suits me just fine I never go over.Well i just got my bill and wouldnt you know I went over by almost double. Turns out more often then I thought I was sending blank texts and double texts. People weren't saying anything to me because they thought that it was just user error but when it kept happening people finally started saying something to me.Its not worth trying to argue with verizon over it, its like $14, so I will just up my plan a bit, but just watch it.For some of you its moot because you have unlimited, but for those that dont just thought I would share.

Whether I select just one person (and therefore one thread) to delete or deleting my entire inbox, my phone locks up, messaging crashes/force closes. My phone is incredibly slow and I'm assuming the plethora of messages is at least partially to blame.
View 8 Replies View RelatedA couple nights ago, I installed a picture frame widget from the Market. Nice black frame, just what I wanted. Since then I've been getting unsolicited Spam texts. I don't know for sure, though, if its the widget causing the trouble. The reason I suspect it now is that there was no screen detailing what types of permissions the app had when I chose to install. I didn't think anything of it at the time, since it was supposed to be basically an inert widget. Now I'm regretting my naivete. So, I've uninstalled the pic frame (and Messaging Widgets just to be safe). Anything else I should do at this point? I don't do any banking or buying on my phone, but still.

After going through the site for what seemed endlessly and trying for 2 days to erase the mass threads I've decided to do a hard reset. My contacts and calendar are backed up on gmail so I'm not worried about losing any of that but are the photos/video saved to the SD card or will they be erased?
