I keep my phone on vibrate most of the time and I've found that when I'm on the phone talking to someone and I get a new email, the phone vibrates so I can hear it, which is great. But the caller on the other end hears it too and they always end up saying 'WTF was that noise'? How to turn this off so callers don't hear the vibrate mode too?

The only fix is to hard reset. waiting on a replacement but was curious if anyone else had this issue...

The main thing that is currently annoying me with it is that when I am on a call, it still vibrates when I receive a text message. I like that it vibrates when I receive texts just not while I'm on the phone. How do I change this 'Phone Only' preference? 1.5 always just had a little beep or sound for the notifier never vibrated?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can barely hear whoever i'm talking too on my phone even if the volume is all the way up. If I switch to speaker I can hear them fine but the ear piece seems to be not working properly. If I put on my bluetooth and use it I can hear perfectly also.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having an intermittent problem where callers can't hear me for 6-10 seconds when they call. This is a t best embarrassing and frequently they hang up. As I say the problem is intermittent - sometimes the phone answers as usual. Interestingly, I can hear them talking (and usually saying 'hello? hello?) but they can't hear me and I just keep saying hello until they hang up or until the sound kicks in and we can converse.
I did a factory reset with no improvement, and have also downloaded the PC updater and updated the system with no improvement. Then, I spoke to a friend the other night who described an identical problem with his X10.
shooting out emails etc. then, someone called me, i answered, and it connected, but i could not hear anyone. after some troubleshooting, this is what i've concluded: if i call someone non-speaker phone, neither the other party or myself can hear each other, even though it is connected. if i am on speaker phone, they can hear me, i cannot hear them on bluetooth it's fine, i can hear them and they can hear me. i just got the phone, and i cant send or receive calls? i talked to verizon tech dept, and they were like, whoa that's weird, and read me some tips and tricks on calling that is in the pamphlet that came with the phone. they said to do a factory reset. i really think it should be working, i've spent the past 6 hours customizing it, and i really dont want to reset everything, in hopes it "might" fix the problem.

One of which is when someone calls me or I call them depending on what "mood" my phone is in the person on the other line cannot hear me. Also since about two days ago it's been happening almost everyday, now the hitch pitched "Beep" is accompanying the problem of the person on the other line not being able to hear me. I can get around it, I have toe reset my phone twice. Yep, twice. I reset it the first time and it does nothing. Still same ol' high pitched "beep" and no one can hear me. No matter how long I wait on the phone or how many phone calls I make. After the second reset it works with no problems.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'll be talking on the phone and might receive a text message or gmail from someone. My phone immediately vibrates twice to notify me. Not only is this unpleasant when I have the phone to my ear, but it's also an annoyance to the person I'm talking to as they hear the vibrate sounds. In fact any time I'm talking to my girlfriend and my phone vibrates, she asks "who is texting you now?" I really just want the notification turned off while I'm on a call. Is there a way to prevent this from happening while on the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedAll I want to do is create a simple "vibrate" profile that turns phone calls and text messages to vibrate. I have the call part but the messages just come in silently with no vibrate. I have the following in the task:
1) Vibrate on Notify: On
2) Vibrate on Ringer: On
3) Silent Mode: Vibrate
I just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?

I've heard about GBlock and aFirewall but they're not complete solutions. looking for something that shuts down an unwanted caller with NO voicemail option. Even better - an app where you put in the numbers you wish to accept and have anyone else who calls in get rejected instead of having to enter numbers you want to have blocked.

Received a call this morning and I could hear the caller but they could not hear me. Several more incoming calls and the same issue. Then I made some calls...I could hear the person but they could not hear me. Finally turned phone off and back on and it is now fine. Mute was not on.....anyone know what this could be?

View 5 Replies View Relatedsince updating to 2.1 which actually went quite smoothly once i'd 'found' my contacts, my phone vibrates as well as makes a sound on incoming texts. The help guide (also disappeared off phone but can stll access online version) still refers to tapping settings & then tapping notifications.... well since the upgrade my settings menu has changed beyond recognition & when you tap settings there is no notifications option! The nearest is 'sound & display', in which i can change the sound used for texts alerts and also has a phone vibrate for incoming calls (which is unchecked) but nothing re vibrate for incoming texts. I know its only a little thing but its really bugging me. how do i turn the vibrate off?

View 16 Replies View RelatedAfter the Touchdown update I can't get any of my notifications to vibrate for either email or SMS. The phone will still vibrate. I emailed Touchdown and they said that they have heard some things about the vibrate issue but have not been able to duplicate the problems, he recommended a reboot which after two times has not done anything to help the situation. I have to have the vibrate settings for work so I'm screwed without them.

Recently, I have been facing some issues with not hearing or feeling text messages because I miss the tone or buzz of the phone, even with the max volume on. Is there a setting where I can make the phone repeatedly give me an alert and/or vibrate when I get a text message? Pretty much no one can hear me if I call them, If I set it to speaker they can hear me fine (via top mic) but when I try to talk normally, still the same muted mic.
