Sep 18, 2010Video I shoot on my Droid X won't play back on the phone, "Error File cannot be displayed or played". I am running 2.2 rooted and deodexed ver 2.3.9 Anyone else had this problem?

Jul 16, 2010Anyone figured out what the magical combination is to make videos actually play on the phone from a DLNA server? I have tried Tversity and a few others changing all the settings around to find a combination that would work. Most of the settings I tried should have worked based on the formats supported on the X matching the transcode settings I had on Tversity but no luck.

Aug 5, 2010I've used Handbrake as recommended in this helpful thread (Put Videos on Droid) to convert .avi files to .mp4. I got a "Sorry, this video cannot be played" when I try to play it on my Droid.I also tried downloading an .mp4 file from a YouTube video (as converted by file2hd.com). But I still get that error message.I know this topic has come up before and it usually seems to be the way that the file was converted rather than some kind of setting on the Droid. What else should I try?

Dec 27, 2009I was trying to find a video on YouTube on my Droid that I could easily find on my computer, but I could not get the video to come up in the YouTube search using my Droid. I tried this in the YouTube app and the browser, but I got the same results. For this particular search, my Droid came up with 4 results, and my computer 20 results. I've also done google searches for particular videos, only to get a "video not compatible with YouTube mobile" (or something like that). Are these 2 issues related? Is my search on my Droid only finding mobile-compatible videos?

I have yet to be able to play any youtube videos on my phone, whether it be from the youtube widget, a browser window, or a facebook link. It just goes to loading video, and it never loads. Oct 19, 2010i notice when i try to use my phone's "flash player capabilities" that it works like chit. for instance, it won't play videos streamed on justin.tv. and today i tried to go to kings of leon's website so i could listen to their new album from my phone (Kings of Leon | Come Around Sundown) but it failed to work again. i can see all the songs, click on the buttons, even track forward in the songs, but NO SOUND and the songs remain on pause and won't play. is there an update or some kind of APP i can install to where i can actually get some benefit from the flash player.

The problem I have is films only play as tiny thumbnails, about 1 x 1.5 inch.
I've transferred by drag and drop and via media to go, even tried setting defaults, but to no avail.
I've figured out most things with my phone but not this.
It's really infuriating as I've bought a phone for it's big screen only to watch small sized clips.
