HTC Droid Eris :: Sd Card - Desktop Can't See Phone?

I plugged my phone into the usb port on my computer so I could play some music files directly from it (I had just downloaded some music last night and transfered it to my phone). I try to open up the phone from WMP and the phone freezes. I take the back off...The phone restarts and now its saying i have a blank sd card in the notifications field. I took it out and put it back in.
I clicked the option to format the sd card (thats all i can do) and nothing happens the notification doesnt change, it doesnt do anything at all. I tired to connect to my computer thru usb and format from there , once i click format in the explorer window the phone disconnects, the computer says there is no disk in 'F:" and im asked to mount again on my phone. This cycle over and over.

Just got my Eris. So far it really kicks a$$. But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please).My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. Does anyone know of a configuration to send new mail with the phones native email as a "Send As?"If not, does K-9 only poll gmail or is it a live sync?

I don't know what setting I changed or what I clicked, but now I got these clouds and fog animating on the whole screen after I unlock it. Im thinking it has something to do with the weather, because it is cloudy. Im not complaining, its cool im just wondering if its killing the battery faster, because its always doing it on every unlock.

I want to use my Eris as a wireless adapter to link my Home wi-fi network to my PC. Not use the cellular network. I know PDANet will allow me to use it as a modem but am unsure if it will let me use Wi-Fi the same way.

I just got my eris yesterday since I don't have a NE2 available and I wanted to get away from WinMo, in any case, I can't access my SD card from my Eris. I downloaded Astro Manager, went to sd card, it says it is empty. I connected my phone to my PC via USB, mounted it as a drive, and I can access the SD card and contents without a problem. I can even use the photo album on the phone to look at pictures that are on the card.
When I go to settings > sd card and phone storage it displays total space and available space as being unavailable and the option to unmount the sd card is grayed out. Pressing the menu button on this screen doesn't do anything. Running 2.1, not rooted. I not interested in rooting the phone since I don't need the WiFi tethering and the stock apps aren't bothering me. The phone was connected to the PC and mounted. I couldn't see the card from the phone when it was mounted to the PC. Why?

Is it possible to take the sd card out of my Eris and put it in my new Incredible without reformating. I used my sd card for backing up my apps and one of them is Malibo ringtones which is no longer on the market. I would like to know if it is possible to transfer them to a new phone this way.

I just woke my phone after a phone call and now it says that the sd card is damaged and I need to reformat everything!!! I have over 200 pictures of my newborn son on here that I can't loose. I even tried to hook the phone up to the computer and nothing even shows up.

I had turned off the Eris and when I turned it back on, I get a little icon with a question mark and in Notifications it says "The SD card is damaged. You may have to reformat." The first time I did reformat (after, as I thought, saving everything I wanted to my PC - turns out I didn't save photos ). This time, I'm wondering if it's really damaged or not. Anyone have experience with this? It seems kind of odd.

I know that this is sort of stupid thing not to know, but how do you actually set up the link between the Eris and the desktop when using Wireless Tether? I went through the Wireless network Setup and I even went through Network Setup Wizard and Network Connections and still haven't been able to figure out how to actually initiate wireless tetherthing through wi-fi. I'm sure that it's something bonehead that I haven't considered. The only time I've set up networks is with the help of ISP tech support or the ISP setup CD.

I have a ton of videos that were transferred from my old phone to my Eris, and they must have been saved to the phone's built in memory. I want to transfer them to the card so I can put them into my computer. Does anyone know how to do this? I have been unable to sync using the cord because of a driver issue. (I am too un-tech savvy to install a driver from the website-it was too complicated)

Is there a way to make a wall paper that spans all 6 pages of the SenseUI desktop rather than having the same image Copied to all 6 pages?
I was in the IRC room the other day, and was told by a couple of users that they had tried a few things and it wasn't possible.
Then today I was playing around the forums and Disabled SenseUI to check out the Android Home, for shits and giggles no attempt to keep it.
I set a background in Home, which spanned all 3 Home pages... when scrolling thru it actually looked like you were moving along a Image 3x the width of one screen.
When I went back to SenseUI.... that same background was there on all 6 pages no copies at all.....
Any1 kno how to make our on like this and install it on the phone? What would the resolution be on one page or multiple pages?

I had mounted my sd card to transfer files between pc (XP) and eris.
i correctly unmounted from pc (safely remove hardware) and then stopped file sharing on eris.
i took the card out and put in a different one (i don't have a card reader and was trying to transfer some stuff).
when i tried to put the original card back in, my finger slipped as i was pushing it in and it got like halfway in and then popped back out.
the eris saw this as an unsafe removal.
now, it keeps telling me "the sd card is blank or using an unsupported .." something. if i tap on the notification, it just takes to me a window to format it. i keep saying yes to format, but it never formats.
i've tried formatting from settings and tried mounting it again and formatting from the pc. when i do that, the pc says that the drive size is 1.08 TB (?!?!?). this is the 8GB sd card that comes with the eris. and it also won't let me format.
what gives? i've tried taking it out and putting it back in. it keeps saying unsafe removal but the option to unmount is grayed out and i can't choose it.
i tried taking it out, turning off the eris, putting the card in and turning back on. still nothing.
what's going on here?

On XP is there a way to create a shortcut to an e-mail recipient on your desktop that will open up Gmail and place their e-mail address in the TO box? I love how I can create a shortcut on my droid, so it got me thinking that it would be nice to have for the people I email most from my PC.

I've checked related posts and this question specifically pertains to the HTC Hero Sprint CDMA phone. Before connecting my phone to my PC desktop computer, I want to verify if this is the correct method: Question May simply connect my USB cable from my HTC Hero into my USB drive into my PC desktop? Will this pop-up the files, directly, etc? May I simply Copy/Paste the file(s) (pictures, etc.) into a file on my PC desktop hard drive? Is there simply a folder with my Micro-SD card files? Are there any other folders of files, etc. that may be on my phone which may be copied as well (i.e., Apps, etc.)? It's interesting to note that if an iPhone or iPod Touch is ever lost or misplaced, everything is backed up on iTunes on an external device. I suppose if I lose my phone, I'll have to start over. Correct? Or is there a way to backup Scenes, downloaded apps, customizations, etc.?

Can I completely erase all the contents on my SD card? If so, will my Eris still run properly? I have installed so many apps in the past and each one leaves its own feces on my sd card and Im not quite sure what I need and what I don't need. Program feces sucks, and I'm ready for a clean SD.
