Anyone know of a good way to sync files on the Droid with your desktop? I would like to have it mirror file folders I select on the PC & Droid so they are always accessible to me.

Anyone know of a good way to store private documents on the phone SD? I'm considering moving some of my documents to my phone SD....this is stuff that could potentially lead to ID theft if I ever lose my phone So I was wondering if there's any way to password protect / encrypt folders on the SD card. If I lost my phone.....I don't want a thief accessing documents in that folder. So it would have to work against him reading files off a card reader on a regular computer as well While we're at it.....between Mobile defense, Lookout and Wave secure, can any of them wipe the SD card remotely?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought me an HTC Desire about 2 weeks ago but since then I am cut off my Desktop Outlook which I use as my main calendar on the desktop. HTC Sync that came with it flew off my system when after about a week it suddenly started to remove ALL items (from the device as well as from the desktop)! Fortunately I had a backup that was only a day old, so not much lost. Next I tried "Missing Sync" but that program lives up to its name - it's sync is still missing! Instead reproducible crashes due to SQLite exceptions - clearly some programming error. So, IS there ANY option to sync an HTC Desire / Android 2.1 phone decently with a desktop Outlook 2007? Or do I really have to revert to my previous Windows Mobile phone?

I had been thinking about using pwdhash for firefox then I could keep my info between the desktop and laptop, still does not help with the android though.
So, does anyone know what the documents to go apk is called? like how kindle is the redding one. is documents to go also a weird one? i'm trying to find it in root explorer so i can rename the unlock key app so it doesn't show up in the app drawer.i guess maybe since i'm using launcher pro i can just hide that app. i'll do that in the meantime until someone gets back to me.

No problem with appointments / events created on desktop syncing down to phone. Problem Identification: Default calendar when creating appointment / event on phone was calendar called "Phone". There is no calendar on desktop called "Phone". Solution: Pick different calendar when creating an appointment / event on your phone.

On the flip side, I have an ipad and through icloud, bookmarks are dynamically synched between the two - add bookmark in IE on PC and it appears on ipad, as well as the other way around.
I have found posts where people say on export/import, but that is a one time shot. Looking for something that is automated.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the Moto Droid running 2.0.1 (of course) and for some reason, my phone has been perpetually "syncing". The little swirly icon has keeps coming up and it will stay there for hours sometimes (sometimes for days). When this happens, the top of the phone gets pretty warm since I guess it's constantly trying to send or receive something. This also kills the battery really quickly and is becoming quite annoying. I tried stopping facebook from syncing since that seems like one app that might be a culprit, but it didn't help.

For security reasons I can not use a two step process where I sync notes to google email or other providers. It is not necessary to sync email, only calendar and contacts. Is this possible?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI plugged my phone into the usb port on my computer so I could play some music files directly from it (I had just downloaded some music last night and transfered it to my phone). I try to open up the phone from WMP and the phone freezes. I take the back off...The phone restarts and now its saying i have a blank sd card in the notifications field. I took it out and put it back in.
I clicked the option to format the sd card (thats all i can do) and nothing happens the notification doesnt change, it doesnt do anything at all. I tired to connect to my computer thru usb and format from there , once i click format in the explorer window the phone disconnects, the computer says there is no disk in 'F:" and im asked to mount again on my phone. This cycle over and over.

View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving issues with gmail contact sync. I was using the blackberry tour which I synced regularly with outlook. When I switched to the Droid i exported the vcard into gmail and the gmail synced with my droid. The problem is some of my contacts have been merged with other contacts. For example, Nick with no last name was merged with Nick H that does have a last name. They should be two different Nicks and I dont understand why the droid is combining them. I have checked the gmail account and the two Nicks are NOT merged together, but the two Nicks ARE merged on the actual phone. My phone was syncing with facebook and gmail but i disabled the auto sync and just manually synced the gmail on its own but i still have the same problem. I also have another friend with the same problem on her droid.
