On XP is there a way to create a shortcut to an e-mail recipient on your desktop that will open up Gmail and place their e-mail address in the TO box? I love how I can create a shortcut on my droid, so it got me thinking that it would be nice to have for the people I email most from my PC.

I have a zillion labels. Only way to manage the old digital life Any who, it's a PITA going into GMail and scrolling through the astronomical list of labels to see what's in there. Needless to say, some labels are, to me, more important than others. With that in mind, what I'd like to know is how I can create a shortcut on the desktop that will go directly to a specific label in GMail. It's gotta be possible.

I mistakenly added some shortcuts of some programs along with the default 4 shortcuts in the bottom of the my desktop skin. Now, I am not being able to remove any shortcut from the desktop. But I do miss Windows Live since I'm a hotmail user (no switch to gmail comments please).My desktop gmail through the web is set up to "Send As" my hotmail account, but if I send a new email via my phone, it sends it from my gmail username.I did a search and it was inconclusive. Does anyone know of a configuration to send new mail with the phones native email as a "Send As?"If not, does K-9 only poll gmail or is it a live sync?

View 1 Replies View Relatedcould not locate an important phone number which I personally entered on her Gmail contacts on her desktop. I checked her 4G contacts (view contacts boxes are all checked) and that specific contact is still missing while showing up on her desktop contacts. Out of curiousity, we checked both of our phones. Just from A-C alone, she is missing 23 contacts and I am missing 41 contacts. The contacts are there on our desktop contacts, but not on the 4G. I feel guilty since I was the one who talked her into changing from Blackberry. Her Head Nurse warned that she will have no tolerance for screw ups due to android phones. Apparently, she has same issues before with one of her RNs.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am on my third exchanged phone for a variety of reasons I have a 41/09 device that is repeatedly crashing whenever I try to compose an email with the native gmail app.I have duplicated it over and over again. There is a lot of debate as to whether these crashing phones are experiencing a hardware or a software problem.This seems like a software problem, and could be related to how the new 2.0 OS deals with memory, etc.I would like to think that an software update would fix it.There is no doubt that Verizon and Google are aware of the high number of phones that crash software.I bought my phone at Walmart, and they are about done with my replacement requests. My store and the next closest store who sells Verizon is out of the Droid.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just got my first Droid phone last night, went from a BB Tour to a Droid 2. So far it seems to be pretty nice, lil getting used to but over all I'm liking it. One thing that bugs me though is - I've downloaded Handcent (for texting) and Maildroid (for pop3 email) and have added both to my home screen. So far so good. what I can't figure out though is how in the world do I change the shortcut name? Right now they are labeled Handcent and Maildroid - I'd like to rename them to Messaging and Mail respectively. Can someone point out what I need to do to rename these? I'm sure I'm overlooking it somewhere.
