On the Droid Eris, My contacts are all good with their profile pictures and their status updates are doing fine. The only thing is that my personal picture is my old profile picture on Facebook and it won't update.
Is there any way to change your own profile picture so I don't have to look at an old picture all the time?

How do i get peoples facebook picture to show up as their picture in my contacts. Right now my facebook picture shows up as Me, but none of the others are showing up. I even changed all my contact names to match the facebook page.

When I take a picture and share it in messages it says picture is too large and starts compressing it. It compresses it down to 14kb. It says picture can be as large as 1000kb but every time it compresses it to 14kb and don't know how to change it.

Whenever I connect to the Internet, the custom pics gets replaced by their current Facebook profile pictures. Is there any way to disable this without completely removing the Facebook synch?

View 31 Replies View RelatedLast night I noticed that the Facebook Widget displayed a message "update not available". If you clicked the "F" to go to your profile, newsfeed that worked. However the newsfeed that pushes to the widget stopped. I haven't changed my settings and everything else is updating regularly. I removed the widget, replaced it and it just shows up blank and the "F" no longer hot links. However, from the same program, I can add the shortcut to Facebook and that works.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use the backgrounds app, and it lets me save backgrounds to my SD card. I go into Astro/ sdcard/ backgrounds and then click on the picture. It gives me 2 options to open it. "ASTRO Image Viewer" and "View picture". For me to use it as a background I have to pull it up in "View picture", BUT....no matter how many times I try and pull it up that way, it shows me the first picture in my camera album. If I click "ASTRO Image Viewer", I can always see the picture I selected, but under menu, I only have the option to "share" and nothing else. Can you tell me why the selected picture won't show up in "View picture"?

View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know how to change the sound that gets played when a Facebook update arrives in the Android notification dock? In Menu -> Settings -> Sound and Display -> Notification Sound the option is set to "subtle" which I really like. I have the volume for notifications set to be relatively low, so if I'm sleeping it doesn't wake me up because it's so low and it's such a short tone.
Last night however, I got some spam friend request on Facebook. Unfortunately it was like 1am and I woke up to hear some Spanish style/flamenco type music playing. After a few seconds I found out that it was my phone, and the Facebook app was notifying me of a new friend request.
Does anyone know how to change this sound? I don't see any option in the Sound and Display menu, and I also tried going into the Accounts & sync menu but I don't see anything in there either except whether or not the phone syncs with Facebook and how often. There is no setting for notification sound.
This is really odd -- it seems like a new friend request is the only Facebook notification that even arrives in the notification bar...maybe other stuff arrives too but I just haven't received them yet? In any case, there must be an option somewhere to change or disable this music.
Anyone else experienced what I'm talking about? Do you know how to change it? I really don't want to wake up even more during the night than I already do. My son already keeps me up enough at night...
is there a way to get a contacts picture to show their facebook picture in timescape. I have linked all my contacts with their facebook accounts but it still shows the default white picture. I dont want to have to go through and take pictures of all my contacts. that would just be silly.Apologies if this has been asked before or is a simple fix. I'm new to this smart phone malarchy

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

Today I uploaded a photo with no problems but then I had to click the comment button for that picture and write the caption there instead of it being a part of the picture.Also is there a way to send more than one picture to someone via a picture text message if I choose multiselect?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
When I call out using Google Voice to someone and I have their contact info linked to their facebook it doesn't show their profile picture. Yet if I call them with my actual phone's number it shows the profile picture. Ditto when they call in. Anyone have a fix for this or is this Motorola's problem?

Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.

My phone memory is around 33% whereas my husband's memory is 64%! He has very few contacts and I'm wondering if the syncing with Facebook is taking up all my phone memory (vs SD Card memory which is fine).
I would have thought that a firmware update via Kies would preserve user data, contacts, apps I paid for from the market, phone settings etc. But after going from I9000DXJF4 to I9000DXJG4 using that appalling excuse for software (Kies) I have a completely empty device with just stock standard apps. No warnings to click through about wiping data, no strange error messages on the device. Is this normal? If so I might as well put my SIM card back in my iPhone until there is a consensus build of Froyo out for the Galaxy S as re-downloading and resyncing everything each time.

I would like the picture to change along with their facebook picture but it seems to stay the pict i have in gmail or outlook.
