I found it annoying that when in my Contacts my friends facebook pictures dont update. Under, Menu/Settings/(Account and synch) I got facebook to refresh every 1 hour. The facebook headlines from my friends do show up, but their pictures stay the same nomatter what. How do I update the contacts pictures automatically?

How does one update the facebook or twitter pic in the phone contacts? Several of my contacts have new facebook pics, but they are not refreshing on my phone.
Ive tried the menu button while in contacts, and I don't see a refresh button.
is there a way to get a contacts picture to show their facebook picture in timescape. I have linked all my contacts with their facebook accounts but it still shows the default white picture. I dont want to have to go through and take pictures of all my contacts. that would just be silly.Apologies if this has been asked before or is a simple fix. I'm new to this smart phone malarchy

View 2 Replies View RelatedI added the birthday to a contact the other day but it didn't appear in my calendar on the phone, even though I have the Google 'Contacts' birthdays and events' enabled and it has worked fine in the past.
To cut a long story short when I add a birthday a new entry is created in the Google calendar but it doesn't appear on the phone even after multiple syncs. The only way to get it to appear (or to get the test ones I tried, to disappear) was to remove the calendar from the phone and then add it again (Calendars>Menu>Remove----Menu>Add).
How do i get peoples facebook picture to show up as their picture in my contacts. Right now my facebook picture shows up as Me, but none of the others are showing up. I even changed all my contact names to match the facebook page.

Yet if I call them with my actual phone's number it shows the profile picture. Ditto when they call in. Anyone have a fix for this or is this Motorola's problem?

I've updated it and every other person's picture updates but mine. I didn't know if there is something I could do to fix it. This is such a minor problem, but I can't figure it out and it's bothering me not knowing why it won't change.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed the latest Facebook app on my Droid today and found that it synced most of my contact photos beautifully. (I chose the second option: only to sync photos with my current contacts) However, one minor issue and two less minor issues:
- For one of my contacts, the picture didn't sync. Dunno why but I guess I can just add the photo manually.
- Another thing is weird. After making a call I've noticed that in my dialer's "favorites" tab, there is a contact who I am friends with on Facebook but whom I do not have the number for, nor whom I have ever called at all! This person keeps reappearing (with FB profile pic and email address) in my dialer app, but the person is not in my actual Google / Android contacts.
Any ideas on how to fix that latter issue? Whenever I delete this person's listing from the Favorites tab, they keep reappearing after I make calls (to other people) O_o
Oh, and since we're talking about the Facebook app..
- Is there any way for Facebook to use the Android notification system to let me know about any new FB notifications? As it is, I'll be on the computer and see some new notifications, but on my Droid I have to manually refresh notifications in the app before it knows about them. Kinda weird.
I have synched a lot of my contacts with their Facebook accounts, but for a couple of them I have chosen custom pictures to appear in the phonebook. Whenever I connect to the Internet, the custom pics gets replaced by their current Facebook profile pictures. Is there any way to disable this without completely removing the Facebook synch?

I've got a contact in my phone, with a picture. When i receive a message / call from her, it comes up with her Facebook picture, not the one on the phone. The contact is not linked to facebook and i have un-synced facebook. I had lived with it if it was just the picture change, but i also get problems returning messages. It is not picking up the correct number. I have her number as 07.In facebook it's +44. It is using the facebook one and not picking up the "+", so is an incorrect number. It's frustrating the hell outta me, especially as it's the person i text most.

Well when i first revived a call the picture came up Cristal clear but after a couple minutes all contact pictures were blurry again. is there a fix for that?

Because when i set some picture to contact on google contacts or from phone photo album, after a sync the picture of the contact looks UGLY!! View 8 Replies View RelatedI just recently got my xperia x10 and had to almost immediately upgrade to the 2.1 system. I am noticing a few things that I'm not fussy about from the 1.6 system but the thing that is bugging me the most is that I cannot (figure out how to) link contacts in my phonebook to their facebook and twitter accounts. In 1.6, when you edited a contact it gave you the option to click LINK. I cannot find any of this on the new system. As well, for contacts that I had linked before, their facebook profile pic (current from the time when i linked them before upgrading to 2.1) shows up on their contact information (i usually only link facebook, as i dont use twitter as much) and their profile is linked. However when i go into EDIT, it says FACEBOOK, Timescape and a big exclamation mark that has a message beside it saying : Timescape Plug-In Manager contact information is not editable on this device. i SHOULD be able to edit and link all my contacts. that was the whole purpose of the xperia having this timescape program.

I recieved a new one today and set it up almost exactly as I had set up my previous. But this second time around (after signing in on Facebook) I seem to have no facebook contacts whatsoever! Even when I go into "View" Facebook appears like the follow: Facebook (0). I'm pretty damn sure I have more than 0 friends on Facebook! I tried a hard reset and it didn't seem to solve the problem!

The issue i wanna discuss here is that my phone does not sync the birthdays from my phone contact details to the calender, as it was availabe in my previous phone HTC Touch diamond, i used to feed the birthday details along with the contact and it syncs those birthdays with the calender when i used to sync it manually with the help of computer. But no such option is availabe in Android. please don't reply with the 'synching birthday contact and events' from google calender. I've seen loads of forums on that , but that ain't related to my problem. i want synchronization of my phone contact's birthday details to the phone calender.
