HTC Droid Eris :: Opening Forwarded Mail On Phone

I have several users at work who have the HTC Droid Eris. We allow our users to connect to our work email via IMAP. We have an issue where when a users receives forwarded email, they can't open it. It give them the option to save to the SD card, but when you click again on it, it still only gives you that option. I tried one of our users, who has the new incredible, and it works on his once he saves it to the sd card, it gives the option to open. Has anyone gotten this issue before, or is there a work around for it.

I just left the BlackBerry world. Been an avid Gmail user and I own my own business. Emails sent to my business email is forwarded to my Gmail account. In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

I have a video that was sent to me at my gmail account and it was sent by a Black Berry. The video played on the BB but when I tried to view it in the message from my phone, I could not even download it. In the email, it has a paperclip with a point to the right, and the name if it is VID 00028.3GP (262kb size). I could not do anything with the attachment and when I touched the paperclip icon, it wouldn't do anything. I forwarded the email to another person and she could view the video- from her iPhone.
So, that's my dilemma and I hope you can help. By the way, I am a Verizon user and my Droid 2 has Android version 2.2. If you need anything else, please let me know. If you want me to send the movie to you for troubleshooting, please PM me and I will. It's just the winning touchdown to my University's game today and I don't mind sharing it- because it was awesome but I'd like to know why I can't watch or download it.

OK so if you use POP3 on several computers to get gmail, you may be familiar with this. Basically it makes it so every client gets your email. Anyhow heres my problem, freakin PoS default android email will not recognize it as a correct username. Is anyone familiar with this? Know a better email client than the default (and don't suggest K-9 please, I'm currently using it and hate it). I wish someone would get the HTC mail app to work on vanilla.

I had to do a factory reboot on my phone and hope I didn't goof in regards to my contacts. When I look in gmail, they are all there. However, when I go into my phone and tell it to sync my gmail contacts, I only get two. Any ideas what is going on and what I can do to get them all on my phone from my gmail account?

for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

I just want to know what intent am I going to use to open a mail client. I can open the "compose view" of the mail client but I cant find an intent to open the "inbox view" of the mail client. The same thing for opening the "mail" application from android device. For example, from my application, I want to call "mail" application. What intent should I use for it?

It happens from time to time (too many) when i get an email, open it through the item in the status bar, and when the Gmail app loads it shows the loading circle and then get stuck (freezes). After a few seconds i get an option to wait or FC, (sometimes the device is reseting itself) waiting doesn't worth too much since it doesn't responds later on and i have to FC and open the Gmail app "manually". There is an application i'm trying to use on my phone. the file type is .jad and when i try to dl and open it i get a "no application can be found to open this file". is there anyway to convert this to a file type i can use or is the anderiod simply not compatible with this?

Here is my dilemma:
I have 2 lines, 1 smartphone and 1 plain phone. Let's put up a scenario.
Smartphone = line a
Plain phone = line b
I want to forward all calls from line b to line a but instead of the caller id being of the caller, I want it to display the id of the forwarded phone.

1. Tried opening a PDF file (2mb) on my gmail application. Tried to open "PDF Viewer" and it said "file can not be viewed. I know the PDF is a good file because it opened just fine on my computer. I have tried to open other PDF's and they work just fine. Any suggestions?
2. Tried to open a video as a wmv file on my gmail application. Loaded fine with sound only, no video. Any Suggestions?

I'm running Droid Eris on leaked 2.1v3 Over the last month or so I've noticed than when I open a text message while holding the phone in landscape the app crashes and has to be forced to close. Also sometimes I notices that the keyboard is a little laggy and the text doesn't show up on the screen until I minimize the keyboard.Has anyone else had these problems or know of a fix?Also on a side note how to I save pictures sent to me in mms to my media card?

I was reading one of these threads, and someone mentioned that there was a way to stop apps from opening on launch.I have apps that randomly open by themselves and i want to prevent them from doing so. (VLC Remote, default messages, and a few others)I've posted enough good points that if this was said already i can get a freebee :P

I currently have my work Groupwise e-mail forwarded (using a rule in Groupwise) to my Gmail. Only problem is that many folks at work use group distribution lists to send out e-mails. Many of these lists have hundreds of recipients. When I open these e-mails on my phone I often have pages of recipients to scroll through before I ever get to the message.

When forwarding a message on an exchange account, it attaches the forwarded email as an attachment in the .EML format.
Motorola's troubleshooting page indicates that it cannot open this file format.
Does anyone know of a workaround or APP that can open this file type?

I want to add my gmail settings to the native mail app and use that for gmail instead of using the gmail app. I dont like how you cant attach a file other than a photo using the gmail app and I like the layout of the native mail app.If you add your gmail account to the native mail app can you still receive push email? I plan on disabling the sync settings for google in the main settings but that shouldn't affect an account added to the main mail app.

Updated the phone today to 2.1. I used to have yahoo mail working fine on the phone but it no longer works. Now it is telling me my username/password is incorrect. Anyone else had any problems since the update?

I've been messing around with C2DM and have a nice little app working perfectly in the Emulator. I send a message from my app server to Google's C2DM servers, the message will arrive on the emulator and my app would respond appropriately.
My problem now is running the app on my smartphone (a Nexus One). The app runs fine and registers for C2DM with Google and then forwards it's rego ID to my application server. This is all working as expected. Problem is, when I send a message from my app server to the phone, my app never receives the message. After some investigation I found out
that the message reaches the phone, but the C2DM subsystem seems to be forwarding the message to the Google Talk app and not MY app.
Has anyone seen this behavior before? Can anyone give hints on what to look for to solve this? I was assuming that if the registration messages where forwarded to my app, then everything else should be as well.

I've been plugging in my DroidX to my computer to do different things (root, transfer files, etc). Whenever I do, it causes the web browser to automatically open and start playing an annoying "helpful video" from the Verizon site. Does anyone know how to make it stop loading? Obviously I can close it out, but it is really annoying. I have root, so I can access the internal memory and delete the offending file. I just don't know which one to remove.

Hope you guys can help. Since the 2.1 update I have certain apps which appear to be opening in the background when I didn't open them. I have Advanced Task Killer, and when I go in for example it shows Messages running, when I kill it, it will reappear in 30 secs or so, the same with MP3 store. Can these apps be stopped so they don't take up memory or what's the deal here. Thanks for any help.

Does any one know why some emails show up as still on server when attempting to read from an IMAP account? This doesn't happen to all emails and I haven't been able to locate a common reason (i.e. HTML email, has attachments, Rich Text formated, etc).I'm not sure if this is just related to the Eris or the Android Mail app.

So that the number of new e-mails will show up on my shortcut on my home screen? I had to tinker with the settings so my battery doesn't drain so quickly at work, but now I can't see when I have new e-mails! I can get them, but I have to go into 'MAIL' & wait for them to load.

I can get the sound but no video. What may be the issue. Also, other home screens are available but where can I access them, and what are the most functional?
