I had to do a factory reboot on my phone and hope I didn't goof in regards to my contacts. When I look in gmail, they are all there. However, when I go into my phone and tell it to sync my gmail contacts, I only get two. Any ideas what is going on and what I can do to get them all on my phone from my gmail account?

I searched but couldn't find what I needed.I made the mistake of syncing my Eris with Facebook. I would rather use the photos I have for contacts in Gmail but now that I've synced with Facebook I can't get the photos to go away, short of going to each contact and choosing to sync the birthdays but not photos. Even then, would i really have to add each of their photos to the SD card and change each one individually in their contact file? More simply put: How can I unsync Facebook photos with contacts? I tried logging out of Facebook and uninstalling the app but, disturbingly, it continues to show contact photos from FB and, more disturbingly, gives me updates on them. I'm definitely logged out and I definitely uninstalled the app.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to call my brothers cell. I have called him before on my droid and texted him. However, I just noticed He is not in my contacts!
I goto my gmail account, I have 193 names there, including his, but on my phone I only have 183!
However, when I dialed his number, his name popped up!
Where are these contacts, and why aren't they syncing? If I do a search for his name on my phone, it does not show up either. This is a critical issue!
I went to my gmail account and 'touched' his name, changed his address from road to rd. Forced a sync, but still it doesn't show on my phone. I have my phone set to show 'all other contacts' , which is the group on my gmail account.
My phone stopped syncing my mail to only one of my two yahoo accounts and I have not received any mail in that account since the 24th . The rotating syncing circle just keeps rotating forever. I have deleted that account multiple times and added it back.If someone knows a solution to this problem please post or f you also have the same issue.Could this be yahoo's problem or a problem with my phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am a new user to the thread. My Eris is not rooted. It keeps syncing Gmail, weather, and Facebook. It will stop and then start again. Every time I look down at the phone it is syncing. I've tried taking the battery out. I finally unchecked background data on the "Accounts and Sync". Is there another way to fix this?

In Gmail, you can respond to emails as if it was coming from the business email (server). This was a simple sync I had with Blackberry emails. However, I'm finding difficulties setting up the same thing for my new HTC Incredible (Verizon provider).

View 2 Replies View RelatedOK so if you use POP3 on several computers to get gmail, you may be familiar with this. Basically it makes it so every client gets your email. Anyhow heres my problem, freakin PoS default android email will not recognize it as a correct username. Is anyone familiar with this? Know a better email client than the default (and don't suggest K-9 please, I'm currently using it and hate it). I wish someone would get the HTC mail app to work on vanilla.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have several users at work who have the HTC Droid Eris. We allow our users to connect to our work email via IMAP. We have an issue where when a users receives forwarded email, they can't open it. It give them the option to save to the SD card, but when you click again on it, it still only gives you that option. I tried one of our users, who has the new incredible, and it works on his once he saves it to the sd card, it gives the option to open. Has anyone gotten this issue before, or is there a work around for it.

View 9 Replies View Relatedfor some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.

View 22 Replies View RelatedIt is my first smartphone. I put in all my contacts manually so that I could get the feel of the phone and learn the basics. On all my previous stupid phones, the contact phone number automatically formated to 901-555-1212. With the Eris it is 9015551212. Anyway to change this? I have searched other threads with the same question but no one ever replies. I have search the net with no luck. Should I just take it that there is no way to automatically change this. I have gone through and put in the extra ticks between the numbers manually but that is a pain in the arse.
View 8 Replies View RelatedGot a HTC Droid Eris the other day and absolutely love it.However, when adding a new contact on the phone, the drop bown menu box only lists "Phone" and does NOT give a "Google" or "Exchange" option as is indicated on p. 72 of the pdf "User Guide for Droid HTC Eris" by Verizon. I have examined 3 others Droid Eris phones of friends/family, and on each of their phones when adding a new contact the drop down menu box does list the "Google" option in addition to the "Phone" option.The problem with not being able to select "Google" as the contact type is that the contact information does not "sync" with the Gmail "Contacts List" online.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Eris has always had issues with knowing who is who in my recent calls, texts and in google voice from time to time. I reformatted all the contacts to +1-555-555-5555 format(something that someone on a google forum suggested) but it still doesn't fix the problem. For instance- A friend named Steve called me. I see incoming call from and it knows who steve is and says "Incoming call from Steve". I called him back, clicking on the exact icon in my missed calls that says his name and it says I called 5551231234 (unknown). This happens in my messages as well, and it is starting to drive me crazy. I will get a message from 5551231234 and it will only list the number and not the name, so I have no idea who is texting me. For some reason my phone is incapable of putting it together to figure out that the number it lists as unknown is already a contact in my contacts. I have to always call people back to figure out who it is or send a text asking who they are.
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere is my issue. When I read or delete an email from my phone, it doesn't reflect in gmail when I login. It still shows as unread. Whenever I get new emails on the phone, it will say I have 5, but I only have 1 because I already read the other 4. But I cannot see them and can only view them then from gmail online. Never had this issue live past a *228 and reboot. I have cleared cache, tried reflash. Everything. Even went back to a working NAND and still same issue. I am using Aloysius v11 MAPS.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOk.. Ive been dorking with my EVO since June 7th and the HTC mail app would not automatically sync. Everytime I would have to go in and do a manual refresh. (Yes I decided I like the HTC mail app over the stock gmail app) Anyway, I deleted the account numerous times and tried everything. I called HTC tonight and the guy had me go into my phone settings "accounts & sync" and go into the google settings and uncheck "Sync gmail". It works like a charm now. No more manual refresh!!! Cannot believe that. But anyways, thought someone may have the same problem and now you know how to fix.
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I have adjusted the Outgoing server settings from the standard Incredible settings for Yahoo IMAP to ones that are posted for the Motorola Droid, which is the same as (i believe) K-9 and my sent messages do not make it to Yahoo mail.Neither SMTP server setting within HTC mail syncs my sent mail. I am only looking for 1-way (device to server) sync. I don't expect 2-way sync.Both K-9 Mail and ROID mail are able to sync sent messages.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to add my gmail settings to the native mail app and use that for gmail instead of using the gmail app. I dont like how you cant attach a file other than a photo using the gmail app and I like the layout of the native mail app.If you add your gmail account to the native mail app can you still receive push email? I plan on disabling the sync settings for google in the main settings but that shouldn't affect an account added to the main mail app.

View 11 Replies View RelatedWhen adding new contacts to the droid x, it added it as both a goggle contact and phone contact. (i only have one goggle account setup). I went into contacts -> menu -> more -> settings. I am UNABLE to check/unchecked the "Phone Contacts" (it is always checked). The goggle one i am able to check/unchecked. WHY and HOW can i toggle the phone contact? Also, backup assistant only takes PHONE contacts and not GOOGLE contacts...while g mail contact sync only takes goggle contacts and NOT PHONE contacts. How can one change phone contact to goggle contact? (i have seen posts all over but no answers...and just replies saying "i have the same problem") I am trying NOT to have two (2) different types of contacts. PHONE and GOOGLE. I just want goggle contacts ( or phone contacts. so i can at least use verizon's backup assistant.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was messing with settings last night to help with battery life so I'm pretty sure I messed something up but my Gmail wont sync automatically today. It worked this morning but later on I realized that nothing had come in so I did a manual sync and sure enough I had some missing email. I checked in Accounts and Sync and Background data and auto-sync are checked as well as sync gmail. But it wont push. Anyone have any ideas on what I did? Also I'm using a rooted 2.1 on my Eris.
