HTC Droid Eris : Need To Change Location On Home Page?
Dec 27, 2009I just got an Eris while we were in Mesa, Arizona last week. Now we are 150 miles away, and the clock on the home page still shows the "Mesa", with the weather for Mesa, AZ.
How do I change it to show our current location? I have tried adding cities in the Weather app.

I cannot figure out how to add a new home page. I'm at ten right now. If I use Settings/Edit to get the multiple page view of home screens, there is no plus sign to add a home page. I must be missing something.

Aug 21, 2009After fiddling around with my home screen layout for a couple weeks now, I've settled on what works for me. The problem is, I have one of my seven pages sitting empty! So I'm looking for suggestions. I'll let you know what I've already got covered:
Toggle switches
Program, contact, and bookmark shortcuts
Music, weather, notepad, and calendar widgets
I'm not interested in Twitter and I haven't found the stock text or email widgets to be that useful because I can only see one at a time and usually have to link to the full program. The icons with unread number are working well enough.I'm looking for any cool widget or folder ideas that I may have passed over on the market, or creative layout ideas.

Sep 14, 2010On my galaxy S, it comes standard news page on the 2nd home screen, called AP news or something, is there any way of getting this replaced, by bbc news, or UK times? As a UK based person I really don't care about news in USA. If there is no way or doing this, is there any way of adding the news screen BACK to the 2nd home screen.

Apr 14, 2014I have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

Apr 6, 2012The old symbian phone displays the area/location on home screen, even if the GPS/GPRS is not activated. This is provided by the network operator. I am missing the same in my Android phone.
Even My Location option does not display the area/location on homescreen, it displays only the Network operator name.
I tried looking for apps, but all are for displaying the operator's name but not location. I can check my location using any GPS application, but those does not display it on my home screen along with Operators name. I want it similar to my Nokia N81 where the operator name and area name are displayed.

This morning when I went to use it I saw a Dialog sitting atop the home/launcher screen notifying me that an update was available and that I could choose to upgrade now or later. My question is, what API mechanisms is this using to show a Dialog (perhaps an AlertDialog) atop the home screen? Having written an Android app, it was my understanding that Dialogs could only be shown atop an Activity, and that a Service cannot show a Dialog (only a Toast).

Aug 11, 2010Noticed yesterday that on the homescreen when the phone was locked that a missed call and voicemail notification appeared as pieces removed from a jigsaw overlay of the background homescreen image. Hadn't seen that before. Is that a default thing or can I change it (did look rather cool though). I usually use the pattern lock rather than the default swipe lock, so I'm wondering if it's to do with that default setting.

HTC Incredible :: Way To Change Home Screen Position?
Sep 18, 2010So I have had the Incredible for a while now and I absolutely love the phone. The only thing that has really bugged me from day one is the positioning of the home screen. The phone is suppose to be fully customizable but it seems that the one thing I have yet to figure out is how to change where my home screen is located. I would much rather have my home screen set as the left most screen instead of having it directly in the middle of my seven available screens. You know, sort of like how the iphone is and what not. Does anyone know if something like this is possible?

Because of this, the text home screen (second from left when scrolling through the home screens) is useless to me. Is there a way to change the screen so that it's not a "text" screen? I tried adding a different widget and was told there was no space.

Jul 6, 2010I recently got my incredible and i love it, I have 2 issues with it, first is battery but you know downloading stuff all day long will tank a battery the other. I cannot put a picture on the wallpaper on my phone. If I do, it changes it to the HTC colors. I can however post any live wallpaper just not any pictures. This is become a great irritation and I am uncertain if this is a software or hardware problem.
