I've been hovering on the "Let's see you UI" thread for the last day or so. Really liking the icons some of you guys are showing. But everyone seems to being using Better Cut or Dxtop or something other than the standard UI. My questions.
1. If I download the above apps, do I loose Sense?
2. If yes to above, is there a way to use these cool icons on the standard UI so I can keep Sense?

View 1 Replies View RelatedGreetings, after having heavily used the the phone for a week here are my Sense UI/HTC apps pet peeves on the Eris (probably not present in Moto Droid - if someone would confirm it would be great):time stamp missing if it's not today (e.g., SMS from yesterday or before don't show what *time* they were received or sent, same for info on when last mail was last sync yesterday ). The system keeps this info, why not display it? This is useful for me.No weekly calendar view - what were they thinking?? (The day view looks so cool - but not useful to me. However, I can just imagine what a nice job they would have done for a weekly view.This is more a wish list item, not a gripe It would be nice to have the screen blank time separately from the phone lock feature
View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter successfully pairing and then using an earbud, speaker, etc., the Eris will intermittently lose connectivity with the BT device. It's unpredictable, and the only remedy seems to be UNpair and then REpair.
View 1 Replies View RelatedLike everyone who's updated to 2.1, I'm experiencin the same bugs with Facebook (i.e. all my FB contacts show up in my dialer and my txt msgs). Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.
View 16 Replies View RelatedOn the bottom right corner of my eris on the back cover is loose. Loose enough to hear it and see it, whenever i hold it on that corner you can feel it is flimsy.Anyone think this is a good reason to return it, and get a replacement?

I have the 1.5 right now as i didnt see any reason to update as my phone has left me happy. But i consider it now and want to know will i loose my apps if i update say i have shapewriter and its no longer avalible on the market and i update will i not be able to get it back.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm new to rooting. If I wanted to change my rom, is there a way to backup ALL of my apps (some of them didn't come back) and my screen setup and icons? I have a lot of custom icons and it was a pain to set it all up again with desktop visualizer.Or is there a better way to set certain icons as defaults to programs?

She was right in the fact that it won't get past HTC now.. I'm at a loss on what to do besides a factory restore.
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday i noticed that when i leave an application either by backing out or pressing home, sense has to reload. It first flashes the HTC sign, then it takes about 10 seconds to load my home screen. Now this morning i installed an update for "spare parts". Im assuming this was the culprit so I un installed. Still having the problem though. Extremely annoying!

View 11 Replies View RelatedSense UI keeps crashing on me! It used to happen maybe once every couple weeks but now I get it 2-3 times a day. I just got Pandahome last night and when I switch from Panda to Sense it restarts sense maybe 1 out of 10 times but the crashing problem began before then so I don't know what's causing it. I'd try a hard reset but last time I did that my phone wouldn't activate and it took Verizon 3 hours to fix.

View 25 Replies View RelatedWell, I just got my OTA update, and now there is only one Sense Widget available on my phone. There are a handful more available via the market, but none of the ones that I had previously used. Has anyone else seen this happen?
It's more than a little frustrating as my customized home screen was pretty heavy on the HTC widgets.
I was testing some apps that can move to the SD card. They move fine and run. After reboot i notice 2 things.
1. Icons i had on the home screen default to a generic droid icon similar to the market place icon. The apps original icon is gone.
2. Apps moved to the SD card disappear from the programs app try Is this just a bug with all 2.2 roms?
from my "root" folder i create. the only app that stays on the folder is astro (which does not require root). even if not on a folder, my root apps disappear from any of my home screens. no problems w/ them in the app drawer. running bb v.0.3 but had this problem since bb 0.1.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is the second time in the four days I have had the phone that the icons all disappeared and all the original screens have returned the only thing left unchanged was the icon I put a page to turn off the mobile web this is frustrating because I have to drag and drop my icons all over again though I think the first time was right after it upgraded to 2.1 but this time all I did was let it charge overnight and when i woke up they were all gone and the home pages all looked like they did when I first got it. I did try turning it off and back on but they are still gone

So if it is out there then I am sorry for the repetitive post.I just updated to 2.1, and can't figure out how to switch to the Home instead of HTC Sense Home? Anyone out there know how to do this? Before on 1.5 OS, all I had to do was hold down the "Home" button to display my most recent 6 apps, then hit the button again to pick if I wanted "Home" or "HTC Sense".Now, that does not work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying a run without sense to hopefully relieve a lot of the lag problems I've been having. I know I should root, but I don't want to while I'm still under warranty and I'd like to give it a try without to see if I would like it without sense. I have launcher pro installed with home switcher and that seems to have changed over fine(with one incident where my sense home came up). The problems I'm having are with the messaging and dialer apps. I've installed handcent and like it, but I still get the notifications for the sense messaging app, so now I get two every text messaged. Also I've installed Dialer one, but the green phone button still fires up the stock dialer. Is there any way to fully replace these parts without rooting? I also really want the calendar app back, is the launcher pro one similar enough? I like seeing the whole month and being able to scroll with just the widget.

So if anybody figures out how to sign a image and it happens to be 2.0 or 2.1 can yall make a post but from what ive heard the HTC has made it to wear the Eris will only take signed roms
