I saw a thread about this but couldn't find it to reply in.I love facebook and uploading photos and yes there is a facebook for Android application but i was wanting to know is there other things i have yet to discover about it?

Like everyone who's updated to 2.1, I'm experiencin the same bugs with Facebook (i.e. all my FB contacts show up in my dialer and my txt msgs). Anyways, I was toolin around in Accounts & Sync under Settings. Right now, the accounts I have set up are Google, Weather, and Facebook for HTC Sense. When I click Add an Account, there's something called just "Facebook," in addition to the "Facebook for HTC Sense."I've always known there were two Facebook apps (or whatever you wanna call them) on my phone, cause when I want to share a pic I take, I can do it using either "Facebook" or "Facebook for HTC Sense." I always share the picture using "Facebook" because it allows me to post a comment as well.Anyways, getting back to Accounts & Sync, I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on how these two apps differ. Maybe if I choose to sync the "Facebook" account as opposed to "Facebook for HTC Sense," that could solve some of these issues we're all having? I have no idea, but I'm hesitant to do anything for fear of clogging up my phone's contact list with Facebook friends.
View 16 Replies View RelatedI have the HTC Droid Eris. Before the 2.1 update, I just had Facebook sync, but afterwards, it was synced with Facebook for HTC Sense. My problem is that it won't let me sync with just Facebook.I still want my contacts to sync with my phone, because I like the facebook pictures on there. Personally, I like Facebook sync better, because I don't like having all my Facebook contacts on my phone, because the numbers show up twice (number that I have on my phone plus the number that my friends have on Facebook).To prevent that from happening, I would rather have my phone connected to Facebook only and not Facebook for HTC Sense.I thought I could do it, but it won't let me even click on Facebook--like, nothing pops up or anything.I wasn't sure if it was my phone, so I took my dad's Eris and tried to do the same, it works fine on his phone, but I can't get mine to do sync with facebook whatsoever. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Desire's Facebook directory lists 205 friends for my Facebook, while in reality I have 207 (and Facebook for Android app of course shows them all, too)I'm not quite sure why or how 2 of them have gone missing, but I think one went when I messed a bit up, merged 2 contacts on my phone and started removing information from that contact, so it in the end had only 1 number and 1 facebook friend linked to it. Ever since I haven't been able to see the friend whose contact/link I removed in Facebook directory.I've tried uninstalling Facebook for Android to access Facebook for HTC Sense, but apparently it can't be completely uninstalled - only the update(s) for it, and the cache/data can be uninstalled for what I can tell.
So I've uninstalled it's updates, I've cleared it data/cache - and I've cleared all the cache/data from Facebook for HTC Sense too.I've removed my phone-linked Facebook account, too, with no luck.No matter how many times I try re-syncing or refreshing, the 2 contacts are still missing.One new contact that I added as my friend today appeared normally, though.Any ideas how to fix this? It's annoying when I can't link 1 contact to her Facebook, when I have pretty much everyone else linked to theirs.
Well, I seem to either A) have a problem or B) it's a problem just in general.I have Facebook installed, and there's obviously Facebook for HTC Sense. I want to sync my Facebook account and only that. I don't personally care to use the Sense inspired widgets because I like my streams separate.Anyway, I go into the Accounts menu in settings and removed the Facebook for Sense account and tried to add a new account, but whenever I click Facebook, it does absolutely nothing.I don't understand what's going on. If anyone has any clue, I'd love to hear it!

View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone figured out the difference between syncing Facebook for HTC Sense in the account syncing section vs. plain Facebook? I am trying to figure out if the one I'm using (Facebok for HTC Sense) is using up too much memory.
My phone memory is around 33% whereas my husband's memory is 64%! He has very few contacts and I'm wondering if the syncing with Facebook is taking up all my phone memory (vs SD Card memory which is fine).

Facebook for HTC Sense is a POS. We all know that. But what is killing me is that I can set up a "sync" my HTC Eris with Fb for HTC Sense (that doesnt actually sync) but not for the standard Facebook app.
The HTC Sense Facebook App does a terrible job of syncing contacts w/ the phone, so I am trying to do it thru the Facebook for Android App.
I) Should I just keep on trying with the HTC App even tho its not fully working or syncing?
When I go to Menu> Settings> Accounts&sync>Add account (after removing sycing w/ FB for HTC Sense) I can add an account for: Facebook -or- Facebook for HTC Sense.
But, when I try to click on Facebook, nothing happens. Fb for HTC still works and I can add the account to that, but I wont get the contacts again. (I think).
II) What is going on w/ my Facebook for Android app? (I have updated it, too).
My sister downloaded the app lockbot free and her words were 'it froze when installed so i restarted my phone and now it's stuck at the HTC screen when i turn my phone on'. She was right in the fact that it won't get past HTC now.. I'm at a loss on what to do besides a factory restore.
View 4 Replies View RelatedToday i noticed that when i leave an application either by backing out or pressing home, sense has to reload. It first flashes the HTC sign, then it takes about 10 seconds to load my home screen. Now this morning i installed an update for "spare parts". Im assuming this was the culprit so I un installed. Still having the problem though. Extremely annoying!
View 33 Replies View RelatedSense UI keeps crashing on me! It used to happen maybe once every couple weeks but now I get it 2-3 times a day. I just got Pandahome last night and when I switch from Panda to Sense it restarts sense maybe 1 out of 10 times but the crashing problem began before then so I don't know what's causing it. I'd try a hard reset but last time I did that my phone wouldn't activate and it took Verizon 3 hours to fix.

It's more than a little frustrating as my customized home screen was pretty heavy on the HTC widgets.

View 17 Replies View RelatedGreetings, after having heavily used the the phone for a week here are my Sense UI/HTC apps pet peeves on the Eris (probably not present in Moto Droid - if someone would confirm it would be great):time stamp missing if it's not today (e.g., SMS from yesterday or before don't show what *time* they were received or sent, same for info on when last mail was last sync yesterday ). The system keeps this info, why not display it? This is useful for me.No weekly calendar view - what were they thinking?? (The day view looks so cool - but not useful to me. However, I can just imagine what a nice job they would have done for a weekly view.This is more a wish list item, not a gripe It would be nice to have the screen blank time separately from the phone lock feature

So if it is out there then I am sorry for the repetitive post.I just updated to 2.1, and can't figure out how to switch to the Home instead of HTC Sense Home? Anyone out there know how to do this? Before on 1.5 OS, all I had to do was hold down the "Home" button to display my most recent 6 apps, then hit the button again to pick if I wanted "Home" or "HTC Sense".Now, that does not work.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying a run without sense to hopefully relieve a lot of the lag problems I've been having. I know I should root, but I don't want to while I'm still under warranty and I'd like to give it a try without to see if I would like it without sense. I have launcher pro installed with home switcher and that seems to have changed over fine(with one incident where my sense home came up). The problems I'm having are with the messaging and dialer apps. I've installed handcent and like it, but I still get the notifications for the sense messaging app, so now I get two every text messaged. Also I've installed Dialer one, but the green phone button still fires up the stock dialer. Is there any way to fully replace these parts without rooting? I also really want the calendar app back, is the launcher pro one similar enough? I like seeing the whole month and being able to scroll with just the widget.

One of the biggest thing I am looking forward to is the new Sense's browser performance. So can someone record a video demo-ing the browser? In particular, I would like to see how much the MULTITOUCH (pinch-zoom) has improved from the 1.5 Sense, that is one of my biggest concerns.
View 28 Replies View RelatedMy girlfriend has a Droid Eris and she is currently on 1.5. From my understanding HTC needs to update Sense UI before she is able to get the 2.0 or 2.1 upgrade. Say she didn't want Sense anymore and just wanted to upgrade to 2.0 or 2.1.
Is this something that's possible? Will she lose any functionality? I think it would be worth it to ditch Sense UI and just be able to be on the latest firmware. As these updates become more frequent, I think relying on HTC to keep up is a little unrealistic. Upgrading the firmware at your own pace seems more appealing. Is this possible?
I might be getting one, and I know on some HTC phones with sense, it can be turned off.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI backed up my apps in anticipation of a factory reset and nothing since then. so since i switched back to sense yesterday, i have noticed that when off the homescreen for too long, like while browsing the internet, when i return to the homescreen, sense reboots itself. black HTC screen comes up and sense gets a reboot. i figure maybe this is because the OS is used to switching sense to the background because i was running helix for so long.
View 33 Replies View RelatedBefore i start i just want to say that this worked for me. i do not have multiple eri (plural of eris)to test this on.. so if you want to try it and post your results. i was just playing around with my phone and decided to turn sense off. i was playing around with it and then i decided to try youtube. it worked on every video that i tried (with different users and everything). some background info>> my youtube application has never really worked.. it used to be where i could just try the video a few times and after a few error messages it would work. but now, with sense off, it works perfectly. i just thought i would put that out there so that if youtube was that important to you (because i would rather sense than youtube) then you can turn sense off before you decide you need to file a "law suite".
