After successfully pairing and then using an earbud, speaker, etc., the Eris will intermittently lose connectivity with the BT device. It's unpredictable, and the only remedy seems to be UNpair and then REpair.

I've been hovering on the "Let's see you UI" thread for the last day or so. Really liking the icons some of you guys are showing. But everyone seems to being using Better Cut or Dxtop or something other than the standard UI. My questions.
1. If I download the above apps, do I loose Sense?
2. If yes to above, is there a way to use these cool icons on the standard UI so I can keep Sense?
We are developing an Android application that uses bluetooth to connect to a board that we developed. If we try to connect to the board after the system has been off for a while, the system connects correctly and begins to stream data. The data stream will freeze momentarily, then start, then freeze, then shut off after about 6 - 8 seconds. If we try again it will repeat this process. It is almost like the Android is checking to see if it is an ok device to connect with, and decides no for some reason.
The only way we have been able to then connect again is to un-pair and then re-pair the tablet to the board. After we unpair and re-pair, the connection works well and will continue to work well until we turn the tablet off.
On the bottom right corner of my eris on the back cover is loose. Loose enough to hear it and see it, whenever i hold it on that corner you can feel it is flimsy.Anyone think this is a good reason to return it, and get a replacement?

I have bluetooth connectivity in my car, and once bonded with the phone, this would connect to the W595 everytime I started the car automatically. Now however with the X10 mini, I have to scroll through the settings to bluetooth controls and find the ford audio paring and connect it manually. Can this automatically connect on the car start up as the W595 used to? It isn't practical for on the start of every journey I need to spend a few mins looking through the phone to connect it up.

I've just install Android 2.2 on my xperia, the sofware have been released from like 3 days, i,ve try today again and it still doesn't work.
I am looking at potentially replacing my head-unit in my car to something that can access my phone's media. Does the X10 allow playback through USB? This would be ideal, as it would charge the phone, and playback at the same time. Anyone have any experience with Bluetooth Connectivity via a phone and car stereo? From what I've seen, the BT connection is normally used for phone calls. Is the limitation on the phone end, or stereo end to prohibit streaming media?
Clearly the X10 can stream media via BT because I have a BT headphones that I use for music and phonecalls all the time.
I am unable to pair my jabra BT2020 headset with my Xperia x10. The phone just doesn't detect the headset, even after pressing the scan for new hardware button. Is this because the phone comes with version 2.1 and the headset is only 2.0. Is there any option to go round this problem, or should I get myself a new 2.1 version headset.

Everything was fine until he called me this morning and said he had lost 3G. A little later it would not send or receive a text message. Then it kept saying he was out of his home network. We wipped it clean and did the Nand Restore and its fine now. His phone still has Android 1.5.

1. Oregon in now hands free and we dont want to wear earpieces. Can someone recomend a good in car bluetooth for the eris? We have the Motorola FM transmiter bluetooth for universal use but it does not really work that well. My wife has not been able to use hers yet. I am reluctant to take mine out of the box if they are not very good ones.
2. I read that video quality is much better on youtube if you press the menu button when the video starts and select HD. This procedure has not worked. I dont get a prompt when pressing the menu button.
3. Is there any way to send a message from the landscape view with keyboard? It seams you have to back out to do this with the lower left hand icon.
4. When ending a call the phone reacts really slowly. I am used to pressing end and immediately being notified call has ended. With the eris, I press end and nothing happens for a second or two. So I figure I missed the button and repress it. This redials the person and it continues like this until I exersize some patients.
5. With the seven home screens, is there any way to select what you want displayed on a screen if it had a default widget there already? For instance, say I want to move the email widget from one to the left of home to two to the left of home. Also, while trying to add people or favorites to the first screen to the right of home the boarders on that widget disapeared. Now its just a background and people faces.
6. Peoples contact faces in thumbnail size are much blurier than when the camera shoots them.
7. Switching from screen to screen, backing up, etc. seems slow.
8. How do you pop up a browser to select "home" when online. When I go back online after viewing something it takes me to the last visited site as opposed to google home. Is there away to select home from any website? I really just need a browser bar.
I think thats it. Also, my phone battery is only awake for 13-20% of the time. I heard alot of reports saying people are around 50-70% awake? Did I get lucky or do I just not use it enough?

Address book was in sync and it sounded ok.But after a few days the phone would just unpair after driving down the road a bit.For no reason I can see and it would happen whether I was on the phone or not.Now it is getting worse.I called Verizon and we did a master reset. Today it disconnected twice on my way into work.I got it to reconnect once but now I can't get them to see each other at all.So is anyone else using their eris on a car blue tooth? Does it work? Is anyone using it with a Mini.I am trying to figure out if I should return the phone for a new one or just give up entirely. This is the MOST important feature I need in a phone and if it doesn't work it is useless.I like the eris but this is driving me nuts.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I have a squeaky clean account with Verizon, four lines, all smart phones minus one phone. NEVER missed a payment and always upgraded. I have had plenty of problems with my phones but never complained too much or created issued. I have been very nice with them, but I've about hit my limit here.
We have a defective Moto Droid on our account, and a defective Incredible. They have already agreed to give me an X for my Incredible. But, they have sent us not one, but now 3 refurbrished phones that are crap. The screens have ALL been loose, and the build has been absolute crap compared to the original phone. They are sending me another one from a different warehouse tomorrow. I am so irritated. If I receieve another refurb with a loose screen and bad build I don't think I am going to be able to deal with Verizon very nicely.
What do you think I should do? Should I be nice and wait for ANOTHER refurb if this one is bad? Or should I get mad and tell them they can take there refurb backs and send me a NEW phone?
I've searched the forums but haven't found a fix for this yet. I like to call people on my way home from work. I used to tap my bluetooth, have my phone in my purse and say 'Call Bob Mobile' and woosh - it calls Bob on his mobile. I've tried the voice dialer that came with the phone and it can't understand a work I say even when I'm holding it right next to me. It's driving me nuts. Are there any apps that will make my bluetooth call Bob when I tap it?

I've reconfigured the network to try to solve this problem -- my laptop is working great on the Belkin N, but numerous attempts at adding a new wi-fi network to Eris have been unsuccessful. And Bluetooth isn't much better. I did get Eris to pair and connect with my headset, and I actually got it to pair with my laptop, but with the laptop, it says "paired but no connected", even when the laptop's reading indicate that there is a connection. I've checked and rechecked configuration, ensured that both PC and Eris were able to be discovered, scanned and re-scanned, but Eris still won't detect my network. My computer, though, does detect Eris as a wireless device.

I have a Motorola droid and I cant send pictures to her or vice versa. When I try to pair the bluetooths,I get a dialogue box that asks for a PIN,so as it suggests, i tried 0000 and 1234.It says on my Moto droid, cant connect with Eris and on my eris it says, paired but not connected. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.I am merely trying to send pictures and media back and forth between the two phones.

We both have the BUMP application where yo can bump info between the two phones. Well as the instructions suggest,I open bump on both phones and bump them. When i do this, it says "Please Bump Again" and then at the bottom it says "you were the only person that bumped" ON BOTH PHONES it says this.What is the problem here? I cant find any help on this,even on their website.
Anyone have any suggestions for a great, fairly inexpensive, Bluetooth headset that comes with great sound quality and not much road noise? I've been looking around but want to make sure that I find a good one for my Eris.

It shows the bluetooth as "working" by the symbol at the top of my screen however, it's not allowing me to use it. It's fully charged, light blinking.
