How can I change my default email notification? I have a folder on on my SD card root/media/notifications. I have ringtones and such in there. However when I go to the menu...settings...and try to change the ringtone for email...there are no options there at all to select other ones. I can only check mark off the option to be notified. How do I get to choose the other ones I have?

My notification is a sound on my SDCard. When the SD Card is mounted or not available, it does a ringing sound, is there any way to change which of the built in ones it uses?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI just got the 2.1 update and I'm just trying to figure everything out.The one thing that I'm having a problem with is changing the default dialer.I had this problem before using aContacts, but was able to fix it in 1.5.But now that I have the 2.1 update,I cannot change the default dialer, which hasn't changed at all. uninstalled and reinstalled aContacts but it did not work. I never got the popup asking which app I want to use as the default.If anyone can help,it would be appreciated.Maybe it's a glitch - I don't know.

I changed my service address at verizon.com but my phone keeps showing my old town as it's default location on the clock widget and in other apps. I know the clock widget has a change city setting, but my small town doesn't show up in their cities database. Is there any way to change the default home location of my phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using an Eris at the moment, and favorites that were populated by default shows a card and prompts me for the desired action. I realize that selecting the name below the icon allows me to choose different actions, but I have very poor accuracy in trying to tap on just the name, so for contacts that I've added that I'm forced to choose a default action, it's very difficult for me to choose an alternate action.
The instruction manual says to "press and hold" the contact to change the default action, but that selects the entire widget to move or discard.
Does anyone know how to change the default action to prompt me each time I open a specific favorite contact?
I've seen this question for the Hero too, but with no answers. Posted on the HTC forum, but that's looking rather un-promising.
I setup both my company exchange email and a Gmail account on my new Eris. However, the notifications for a new email on the exchange account only say "1 new email (exchange active sync)", instead of specifying the subject/sender. If I receive a Gmail notification, it shows all the info in the notifications screen.Is there a setting somewhere that affects this? I'd like to be able to see the info in the notification screen without opening up the mail app. I've searched my heart out but couldn't find any solutions. A similar thread from October is here.

Anyways, I'm having trouble with getting my notification for my email to go away. It's not a problem with gmail, but the mail app. The notification disappears from the notification bar once I check my email, but the "1" stays in the icon for the mail app even after I've deleted it. I've checked all my folders, inbox, drafts, sent, etc. and there's nothing in any of them. Any fixing?
View 5 Replies View RelatedGot my android yesterday havent really played with it other than installing app killer, and checking to see if i could root(i cant :sadface and noticed on my mothers phone(same droid eris) that her notification light was blinking Green. i Checked the manual from the verizon website and all it mentions is green solid, red solid, and red blinking, nothing about Green blinking. It was not plugged in, it was not being used. I thought it was perhaps saying "hey you have a new message/email/missed call" but she had no notifications. anyone know what Blinking green means?

I made the mistake of letting my girlfriend fiddle with my phone while I was setting it up, and she chose mail instead of gmail for sending to email addresses AND pressed the 'always use this option' tab, so now I can't fingure out how to change it back - I know that under the 'always use this option' tab there was a message telling you how to change it, but I didn't get to read what it said before she pressed accept! Now whenever I press on a favourite that has an email address associated to it it takes me to the POP email screen, and I don't have a POP email account! How can I switch it back to gmail?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have multiple gmail addresses set up on my phone through the gmail app.However, when I use any HTC app (People,Gallery)and try to send an email through these apps (I believe it directs me to the HTC mail app), I can only send emails from one of my addresses (which is not my primary address).Does anyone know of a way to switch primary email addresses for HTC apps or how to at least switch on the fly between different addresses when sending emails launched from other HTC apps (People, Gallery, etc.).

And even when I try to select a default notification sound, it doesn't change to it, its stays the same as when the one that it was set to when i got the phone. Currently, the stock application is launched, and since this application is short to worthless, I want the Gmail client to open instead of it so that I don't need to add a short cut to it and at the same time end up with a static button that I will never use.

My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. Is there somewhere you change this other than notification sounds?

Well, i have putted to be notified in 1 hour if i have new emails the problem is the phone didn't check the emails and didn't have the notifications. only if i enter on the "Mail" application i have the new emails.. if i didn't enter, this didn't check the emails. What is the problem?. I have APN droid installed and i have deactivated the 3g 2g gaps. But i have configuration the WIFI to stay connected always.
