HTC Desire :: Ringtones And Notification Sounds
Sep 21, 2010Does anyone know where I could download the ringtones and notifications that are pre-installed on the HTC Desire? I have somehow managed to delete them off mine. I honestly don't know exactly how or when it was that I managed to do it, but I assume it must have been during the last couple of days when it was connected to my PC - I must have just deleted a folder by mistake. Schoolboy stuff really! If there is no way of getting the original HTC sounds back, does anyone know of a free/non-subscription service where I could source some alternatives? I just want a standard "ring ring" & "beep" rather than some sort of crazy frog shenanigans.

Sep 4, 2010so I was clearing up some room for a new app and went through managing apps and deleting some and clearing some caches. And now, I can't select any of the normal ringtones on the phone for my notification sounds. When I go Personalize > Default ringtone > select ringtone. It comes up saying 'Phone Ringtone' With options of OK and Cancel. It gives me no choice of any of the old normal tones the phone had before....what the hell is going on. Same for text noises btw.

Nov 11, 2010I have Nonsensikal ROM installed on this Eris and occasionally make my own mp3 ringtones. But they never show up in the default list of available ringtones. Is this by Eris design?I know how to add a custom ringtone but was just curious as to why I cant include it in the default listing area rather than having to go to my music gallery.

Sep 5, 2010I want to move an ogg notification to the Epic's internal memory so it will play when the SD card is mounted, but I can't move it to the /system/media/audio/notifications folder. I think it's due to NAND not being unlocked? I have root access. tried creating a /media/audio/notifications folder in internal memory and I could move the file to that folder, but neither rings extended nor ringdroid will see it in that location. Is there someway that this is possible, or do we have to wait for NAND unlock? Surely this is an issue that lots of other people have had.

May 19, 2010Since I installed 2.1 (betas and now official) the notifications mute any music or podcast I am listening to through the headphone jack. If I'm using the internal speaker, the notification plays, but the music or podcast is still audible. Is everyone else having this happen, and if so, is there a workaround?

Nov 26, 2010I just flashed Nonsensikal v13.7 last night and since I am not getting any text message notification sounds. If I happen to get a notification sound, it is the default notification sound I set for my emails, et cetera. I use Handcent and have from the beginning. I set, reset, and reset my Handcent notification sound to be "pixie dust" but like I said, I'm not getting any notification sounds for my texts. Is anyone else having this issue on Nonsensikal? I didn't have this issue with version 12.5. Any advice, tips, or suggestions would be helpful.

Jan 8, 2010I saved my ringtones to my SD card and mounted it to my Eris the first week I bought my phone. They worked great under notifications and ringtones. As of last week my notification sounds wouldn't change when I chose a different sound and then it'd stay on the very first ringtone I chose. Now, the ringtones I've set for notifications won't work at all. I can hear them when I test them out, but after I set it as my current sound I won't hear it when I get a text message or anything. I know others are having this problem. Does it have to do with the update you think? Maybe Android 2.0 will fix it.....

Jun 19, 2010I have a Droid Eris. I have Zedge. I have a certain notification sound that I downloaded from Zedge. It shows up on the list, but there is apparently no sound associated with the item in the list. I manually downloaded the notification to my phone to see if it would play on the phone at all...and yes, it does. But I can't select it from the music player to be a notification sound...all that lets you set is the main phone ringtone...and I don't want it for that.
I hooked up the phone to my PC and made sure all the files were in their correct and happy places...notifications in notifications folder, ringtones in ringtones folder, zedge in zedge.

Feb 16, 2010Sorry if this has been asked... I've searched and so far nothing. I just got my new Droid Eris. So far I love it, except for my text message sounds. My ringtone works as my new one. My notification sound plays my preference (Clapton's Layla) when I have an email and such, however, when I get a text message, it still plays the default sound. Is there somewhere you change this other than notification sounds?

Android :: Ringtones Notification And Alarm Ringtones Randomly Changing
Aug 2, 2010The reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. May 20, 2010I noticed this morning that my alarm didn't make a sound when it went off this morning. Fortunately it was set to vibrate and I heard that. I than noticed it didn't ring when I received a call. I had my GF send me a txt and no sound with that either. When I go into setting to change my ringtone none of them play. The volume button beeps when I hit it and I other apps that play sounds are working fine.
