i am having an issue that just recently started.when i get a text message with an image attached i can open and view the pict but it only stays open for a few seconds then disappears.this is very frustrating.I never had this problem before it just started recently.I really like my phone, but my patience is running thin.

So all of a sudden my Handsent is acting up, long time to open, wont send pics, but will send pics if I use stock messeges. Do I need to reset the entire phone again and start from scratch or is there an easier way to fix the problem with Handsent?

View 3 Replies View RelatedGoing from cyanogen 5.0.8 to cm6 rc2. I cannot get market to stay open and contacts won't let me import from SD. Is there a fix for this? I'm trying not to have to lose all my data by wiping. It seems stable enough except the market / contacts issue. Tried fixing permissions, didn't help. Wondering if I need to get a updated contact - market. No idea. I've already got a backup of a wiped upgrade but was hoping this would work as my SMS data disappears with a wipe not to mention the rest of my data. Leaving the data is working more stable than when I wiped and tried that, except market / contacts. Wiping I'm getting fcs and battery pulls.

View 7 Replies View RelatedOn one of the home screens or scenes, whatever, i had put the 30 day month view HTC calendar widget. it synced with the Google calendar just fine and there was a little triangle in the upper left corner of the box for the days that had an event. however, they only stay once i reload the widget. and after a little while they go away, but if i pick a day, my events are still there. i really like that the little triangle. how do i make it stay? is there another app or widget that will allow a full month view with the little triangle or similar mark for days with events?
View 9 Replies View RelatedTried doing a search to no avail as I thought I had saw something on this a week or so ago. I am new here and keep having issues with my Eris. I stopped using a task killer as different ones I have tried tend to eat my battery. At any rate things were fine until today when I noticed that when I click on manage apps and view running apps things like Ebay and MP3 music store are running after reboot. I have forced closed them and when I go back into view the running apps they are still showing up. Why aren't they closing? They used to before today.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently whenever I plug my phone into the charger or a mini USB cable it won't stay connected unless I hold it there. Would this be due to the cable or the actual plug on the bottom of the phone coming loose?
I had this happen with an LG Chocolate before and had to get it replaced.
This is my work issued HTC Droid Eris. 100% bone stock factory everything, no root, no flashing, nothing (not even really sure what all that stuff is anyway). Yesterday got the phone off the charger, hit the power button to start up. Phone vibrated and the three skateboarding droids came up as usual and there the phone stayed. Pulled the battery, tried again and same thing, locking up on the three skating droids.
Next I did power+vol down. It goes right to the fastboot, recovery, clear storage, simlock menu. I selected recovery and hit power. Phone vibrates and the three skating droids pop back up for about 5-10 seconds and the I get a picture of a Droid Eris with a red triangle and exclamation mark over it. From this screen I hit power+vol up. This gets me the Android System Recovery menu with Reboot System Now, Apply sdcard: update.zip, Wipe Data / Factory Reset, Wipe cache partition. Down at the bottom, in yellow letters it says "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command" So I select Wipe Data / Factory Reset and hit power. "confirm wipe of all user data?" Yes, does it's thing for a couple minutes. "Data wipe complete" and Android System Recovery menu comes back up. Select Reboot System Now and hit power.
Now the phone reboots, white screen with three skating droids still locked up on that screen. After noticing the "Apply sdcard:update.zip" menu option I downloaded the July 2010 OTA from here. I put it in the root folder of my sd card and the selected "Apply sdcard:update.zip". It started the install from sd card and after just a couple seconds pops up and says "E:signature verification failed Installation aborted." So my phone is still locked up on the skating droids.
For some reason my home page wont load. I am using the default browser. When I open it up, its just blank.

I try to scroll over it moves back I press the home button and it does the same thing. I've tried powering down taking the battery put nothing seem to work.

View 6 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to send a picture in a text message, it tries to convert it to a slideshow. Is there any way to turn this off? Whenever I try sending one picture as a slideshow, the recipient (even if they have a similar Verizon phone, like the Droid) can't see it. It never used to do that, but I don't see a setting that will allow me to just send the picture without making it a slideshow.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have facebook synced up to my contacts so that their fb pics can also be their contact photo, except they only show up half the time. is anyone else having this problem? it was sorta annoying before but now it's really bothering me because I just DL'd the handcent update and now they have the contact pics next to the chat bubble. Is there anyway to keep the pics on there at all times or any reason they go away?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWell, because no one has any idea how to change from the phone symbol to the index card symbol on the large "people" icons I found another way to do what I want.
I still can't believe nobody knows how to fix that problem but oh well.
Anyway, I found that you can add a people shortcut which adds a small face icon and made my own people page.
It works great. When you tap it it brings up all of the persons info and allows you to choose what action you want.
Just like the large default people icons *IF* you could change to the index card symbol.
Now, the ONLY problem is, I can't get the persons picture to show up on the main page instead of the silhouette pic.
I am synced with google so all my contacts have pics and they DO show up in the info when you tap on the icon but NOT on the main page icon.
I just want to add the pic to the home page icon, any ideas how to to do it ?
This might be a stupid question, but is there a way to get pics and videos I have taken with my Eris over to my computer via the USB cable?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI dnt know if this was mentioned but u can save pix from default txts app. You have to watch where u place ur finger. Don't press and hold on the picture attachment, press and hold on the whole message. You will see that the message and the attachment will highlight green and a screen will pop up.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem sending pictures with the gmail widget on my eris. I take the picture and attach it to an email composed with the gmail widget. However, when the recipient (and my own gmail account to test) receives the email, the pictures are not viewable. They just appear as a red "x". I can send the same email from the phone to my hotmail account and the pictures show up fine. I have tried different resolution sizes, but with the same result. I have accessed gmail through the phone's browser to try to send the attachments that way, but cannot see that there is an option to include attachments. It is pretty frustrating to use a gmail widget to have the pictures not appear when sent to my own gmail account. Then to check my hotmail account and see that the pictures appear fine.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI can not send pictures via text message with the stock message app, Handcent, or Chomp. I had been using Handcent for the past 2 1/2 months or so just fine, it would send pics. Then all of a sudden about a week ago it just stopped. It just kept showing the turning green circle over and over until the sending failed. I updated it, I uninstalled it, I reinstalled it. I tried Chomp. I tried the stock app. None of them will send a pic to another phone or to an email. I can send pics to facebook with the facebook app. The stock email app will send an email with a pic attached however.

I have an AOL account and cannot view any pics embedded within the email. I do not get a exclamation point where the pic should be, instead I just get a large empty space. Is this a problem with my settings? When I originally set up the account, it defaulted as IMAP... should it be POP3?
