If you lock the phone by pressing end, the screen goes blank instantly. If you press the end button to bring up the lock screen (do not unlock), and then quickly double click the end button, the screen fades in and out. Phone is still locked, so no real use. Discovered this in a meeting today. I forget what the meeting was about and before someone else says it, yes, this is completely pointless.

I have a bit of an issue where the screen fades to black (almost immediately) whilst I'm on a call - either handheld or using bluetooth, and its a wee bit annoying!?!?
Oftentimes I need to access either the keypad (ie. for deleting answerphone messages etc) or calendar etc whilst on a call and its basically locks and I have to slide down and do my unlock code to get access?
Is there any way to stop this and force the phone to just show the call screen throughout any call?
Maybe this is already out there but I don't recall reading it. Anyway, at the bottom of the screen where the phone, apps and browser icons are, theres little dots on either side. Pushing one side or the other scrolls the screen to that direction but if you push both sides at the same time, icons for all five home screens will pop up and you can pick the one you want to go to instead of scrolling through the pages.
View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I got my phone wet and there are some water spots inside the screen. I quickly pulled the battery out and dried the phone with a towel+shaking the hell out of it. I then got a container and poured white rice into it and threw my phone and submerged it in the rice. A day had passed and I opened the lid and took out my phone to see how it was doing. Well the water spots are still there but I can see that it's drying up, that's the good news. The bad news is that the rice went inside the small holes where the battery cover locks into the phone. Now every time I shake it, I hear the rice rattling inside my phone. Just a heads up if you ever do the rice drying trick. Either leave the battery cover on or cover up the holes with tape or something.

I use the bluetooth on my Mazda 3 for music and routing instead of owning an expensive NAV system. Please enable the Sprint Nav to do so. This would be the ONLY thing I miss from the iPhone at this time.
Request 2. The headphones hiss when a song fades out. Is this a HTC hardware issue or something that can be addressed with a firmware patch? I hear I can get headphones that come out of the bottom port but the hero touted the 3.5 jack and I should not have to do so.

Is it possible to make a nondroid backup using driodmod and lets say I want to upgrade to bugless beast rom. I know I can backup my apps using either astro or Titanium Backup utility, but can I take the nondroid backup and mix them into the bugless beast one so once i restore (bugless beast) it will have all of my information and apps already on there???

If you type a text or sentence and you look back and notice that a word you tried to type got switched to a different word because of a missed key or just because of the predictive text, instead of moving the cursor back and erasing, you can just click on that word. This brings up the original suggestions along with what you actually typed even if you've moved past this word. Maybe the original Droid had this? I came from an HTC Droid Eris.

I was getting about the same battery life as everybody else, about 6-7 hours with moderate usage. Which is what all the beta testers were getting pre release. I thought I would give something a try. First of all, when I picked up the phone it was about 75% charged. I charged it to 100%, and let it go down to about 30% that first day and then charged it. I followed this everyday for the first week, and was still getting the same battery life out of it. I never allowed the device to completely drain and shut off. Well I gave that a shot, and what did I find, My battery is lasting much longer, like doubled. So give this a try. I let the phone die, completely die so it shuts off. Then charge it 100% overnight. Worked for me, don't know if it will work for you, but give it a shot.

You can use one finger to hold the green icon, then you'll notice a little green icon on the other side of the screen (where the sound off icon usually is, it disappears when you hold the unlock icon). Then just tap that one too and it unlocks.

It came on every ten minutes for the next hour. My alarms were set to 9:45am and 8:30pm as usual. Even turning the phone off and on didn't stop the beeping. It was my 9:45am ringtone even. (The two are set differently)

This is driving me crazy. The phone is pretty much useless when this starts happening. I will be on the Main home screen and then it will start jumping Home screens as if I'm swiping to the left but I'm NOT swiping! Once it is on the last screen to the left it won't let me switch back to HOME. I can almost never do anything when this happens. I haven't dropped the phone. I've reset the G-Sensor. Has anyone experianced this? I've even done a Wipe of the device.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI don't have my Evo yet so I can't and won't say this works 100% but from what I've read and what people have told me this seems to fix the problem so you won't have to do the GSM/CDMA trick anymore. Many have told me that you have to manually update this by going into -> Menu > Settings > System Updates > Update PRL. Let me know how it works out for you.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI figure at this point everyone that hasn't got root yet need as many tips as possible and will try just about anything, so here is another tip. I've got into ADB 3 times (initial root, remove apps & install WirelessN), and each of them was on my first try after rebooting my computer. I'm using the pny sd card(for me it's the 4gb class 4 but 2gb works great as well), which seems to have been by far the most successful card, also I have SDK installed as my driver. The method I used was pretty standard, no clicking in & out the sd card, I just left it in the whole time, I didn't even use loop.bat. I know it's annoying to restart your computer after each attempt, but it worked for me.
