I've noticed that if I change the default screen time-out to, say, 1 minute, the 1 minute will stick for awhile but always eventually changes itself to 10 minutes.Does anyone have any idea why?

When I set a ringtone I trimmed the song and set it.Then I switched to vibrate.When I switched back to normal the default ringtone was back and I had to go re-cut the song and reset it.Any tips on how to make my ringtones stick?

View 25 Replies View RelatedSo right now I'm running the 2.3.13 leaked version (haven't upgraded to the now public 2.3.15 yet) and have Tranquility with REVOlution R2 theme installed. I guess my question is this:What's the benefit of going with the OTA upgrade vs. the leaked 2.3.15 (which I can easily upgrade to from the .13 build)?Is it worth all the hassle at this point to even consider the OTA or should I just wait it out?The other thing is I can't really tell what the difference between .13 and .15 are and if there's even any difference between the OTA and the leaked .15 build. I'm pretty content with my phone the way it is now, esp. with Tranq ROM and REVO R2 theme. I just wanted to get some opinions before I go spend another night toying with my phone. Is there even anyone here that paid for the leaked 2.3.15 and now has the OTA that may actually know if there's a (noticeable) difference between the leaked and the OTA.

I have looked into the profiles but I find it a bit confusing. If you set your minimum for the main screen to 500 on demand, none of the profiles when enabled will be able to go below this?
What profiles do you use and why if you don't mind me asking?
Charging Full (If it is charging why do I care if it moves from 500?)
Charging AC/Full (waste of time, don't understand the diff/between above)
Charging USB/Full (same as above)
Screen Off (set to my min clock speed?)
Battery (issue or non issue? I don't want to have my performance knocked back when I drop below 50%)
Temp (should I be worried? and at what temp?)
Can you just use some of those and they will combine with the max/min settings on the main screen?
What are my advantages and disadvantages?
Am I wasting battery jumping between 500/900? Should the values be closer?
When I have the phone on "On Demand" no matter what setting it is a bit leggy when I restart the phone (even if it is set to 900/900). When I set it to performance 900/900 it snaps right into place. "On demand" and turning on the phone is the only place I ever really notice a lag.

I'm currently running the Kangerade Froyo ROM v4.0.7. I am unable to reboot into recovery. I hold power and X and nothing. The motorola symbol just stayes there. Any ideas what is going on? I'm wanting to load the BB v4 as i'm having some issues with my current ROM.

View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since 2.1 OTA I can't get my sync settings to stick.I want it to push items as they arrive. I check that box, but when I exit out, it goes back to manual. I've tried changing this in the email settings and in the main sync settings.This is driving me crazy- I keep missing my work emails!Also- I have never figured out how to get my vibrating notifications back after the OTA. If my ringer is on vibrate, the only notification I have that an item arrived is my LED.Finally- has anyone found the fix to the multiple notification email bug? I still get 3-4 notifications for one email when my ringer is on ring.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFirst off let me say that I was wrong about this issue. Its not an issue with Easy root it is just something built into android. So I apologize to anyone I argued this subject with but specifically Patch. Its also not an issue with rom manager. This applys to users that after flashing a custom recovery they can boot into it once but the next time you try to boot into recovery it has reverted to stock.
This mostly happens to users of easy root or users that use my guide for rooting using Linux
So for the fix.
Download this file and place it in the root of your sd card.

Download Terminal Emulator from the market. The one by the dev Jack Palevich.
Open it and type the following commands.
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/install-recovery.sh of=/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
sync
after that just flash the custom recovery of your choice and you should be good to go.
I tested this on my phone and another user tested it for me and it worked for both of us. If anyone has an issue let me know. This issue is so sporadic that its hard to have people test the fix.
So through a weird assortment of events i managed to crack the screen on my Eris. But this is the trippy part, I didnt break the glass but the touch sensors underneath. So now i am unable to use the menu or home buttons and the entire left part of my screen and more. I am unable to unlock my device in anyway that i know(menu button, the slider). Is there any other way to unlock it? I now have 11 unread texts and 4 voicemails that I desperately want to view. Oh and I know some of you won't be happy about what I'm about to say but.... I took the leap to the moto droid. I had the chance to get it on a 1 year because I didnt get insurance and I went for it. I will really miss my Eris but the keyboard lag was just killing me.

It already came with android 2.1.I am used to TIM's coverage in my region and I am noticing that Milestone hardly ever gets 3G signal on areas with good coverage on my old N95, except when I set it to WCDMA only, when it works great with 3g.However, since there are areas where 3g coverage is not available, I try to set it to WCDMA Preferred option with no success.As soon as I leave the screen settings go back to default (GSM Auto PRL) and 3G picks up for like 5 minutes in a whole day.Anyone's got the same issue? Know how to make the option stick? Is this a network restriction?

This brings me to my question: Is there a way I can kill all the networking settings and extra on screen buttons so it will be closer to the MyTouch that I have?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently received a replacement EVO to replace one that got wet through the Best Buy insurance program thingy. Anyway it is a brand new EVO but it will not connect to 4G. My wife has an EVO as well and sitting side by side hers connects and mine will not. If you go to Wireless and Networks settings the setting titled 4G is grayed out and says turning on underneath but it never changes. You cannot tick the check box.The next setting is titled 4G settings and when you click it ALL the options are grayed out and none of the check boxes ca be ticked.Like I said I know we have 4G coverage as my wife's phone is getting it fine.Also if you go to About Phone in the settings and look at hardware information it lists 4G MAC address as unavailable. Any ideas or similar problems out there? Could I have turned something on or off that is stopping the 4G radio?

When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.

I can change them, wireless tether restarts, but they never take effect. I tried changing the SSID, adding encryption, and changing the encryption password. None of the settings took effect. My laptop and ipod touch still discovered the network as "AndroidTether" with no encryption.Is there any way to fix this problem?Rooted 2.1 HTC Hero with stock rom.
