I have downloaded a bunch of email notification tones from Zedge to use with my email, I got into the settings, set the right tone to be used, then go out of the settings. The problem is that if I go back into the settings it defaults back to the "Droid" tone and does not keep the one I want.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo right now I'm running the 2.3.13 leaked version (haven't upgraded to the now public 2.3.15 yet) and have Tranquility with REVOlution R2 theme installed. I guess my question is this:What's the benefit of going with the OTA upgrade vs. the leaked 2.3.15 (which I can easily upgrade to from the .13 build)?Is it worth all the hassle at this point to even consider the OTA or should I just wait it out?The other thing is I can't really tell what the difference between .13 and .15 are and if there's even any difference between the OTA and the leaked .15 build. I'm pretty content with my phone the way it is now, esp. with Tranq ROM and REVO R2 theme. I just wanted to get some opinions before I go spend another night toying with my phone. Is there even anyone here that paid for the leaked 2.3.15 and now has the OTA that may actually know if there's a (noticeable) difference between the leaked and the OTA.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded Zedge to try and get some cool wallpapers for my Galaxy Nexus. I downloaded a few Nexus themed ones, then the app updated. Now there are no Nexus wallpapers in the App (through search). But, they are still on the Zedge website...
Also, I searched for "Tennessee" wallpapers on the app and found a few, but the same search on the web produces nothing.Why is there a difference between the app and the website?
When I try to set a wallpaper on my DI with Zedge, it changes to the default HTC wallpaper (colorful bubbles). Does this happen to anyone else? How can I fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off let me say that I was wrong about this issue. Its not an issue with Easy root it is just something built into android. So I apologize to anyone I argued this subject with but specifically Patch. Its also not an issue with rom manager. This applys to users that after flashing a custom recovery they can boot into it once but the next time you try to boot into recovery it has reverted to stock.
This mostly happens to users of easy root or users that use my guide for rooting using Linux
So for the fix.
Download this file and place it in the root of your sd card.

Download Terminal Emulator from the market. The one by the dev Jack Palevich.
Open it and type the following commands.
su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/install-recovery.sh of=/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
chmod 550 /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
sync
after that just flash the custom recovery of your choice and you should be good to go.
I tested this on my phone and another user tested it for me and it worked for both of us. If anyone has an issue let me know. This issue is so sporadic that its hard to have people test the fix.
I currently have my work Exchange account synced to deliver messages as they arrive, and there are 2 specific address that I would like to have a different notification sound for.
Reason being, if I get a helpdesk ticket or a notification from our network monitoring software, I would like a different tone to play so I'll know it's not just a random email. That different sound tells me "YO! Get off your butt and get that NOW..it's a ticket!"
Is there any way to do this with the stock email app, or another email app that will allow this?
I have an odd issue. When I get an email, it sounds immediately. But when I go to read the email, it's not on my phone yet. It makes the sound, but does not show any message indication. About a minute or two later, the message shows up.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm dialing in my Droid 2, which is replacing my previous Blackberry Tour. I am importing all my audio files for ringtones, notifications, and alarms.
I have done the following:
Connected my phone to my computer
Mounted my SD card
Created a Media folder on the card
Created an Audio sub-folder within Media
Created Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms, and MP3s folders within Audio
My custom ringtones show up when I'm selecting them in Settings, and RingDroid also shows all of my files (currently placed in Ringtones and Notifications). However, if I go to my GMail app and settings, when I go to select a custom notification ringtone, only the ones that shipped with the Droid 2 show up. I also checked Settings, and no custom notification sounds come up.
My Wife and both has Evo 4gs. On my phone, when I get a email, it just vibrates, but for a text I get a sound. On my Wife's phone, she has sounds for both. I installed a loud alarm sound because she doesn't want to miss a text form our kids. The problem is emails come in at all hours and it wakes us up.
Under "settings" I have Email Notifications ON, Notification Sound OFF, and Notification Vibrate ON for both phones.
The only difference is I have Hotmail and She is using GMAIL. What can I do to get her emails to just vibrate and text message to sound an alarm?
Prior to the update, I had different tones for my texts, and email accounts. Since the update, seems I can only choose one option under notifications.

It already came with android 2.1.I am used to TIM's coverage in my region and I am noticing that Milestone hardly ever gets 3G signal on areas with good coverage on my old N95, except when I set it to WCDMA only, when it works great with 3g.However, since there are areas where 3g coverage is not available, I try to set it to WCDMA Preferred option with no success.As soon as I leave the screen settings go back to default (GSM Auto PRL) and 3G picks up for like 5 minutes in a whole day.Anyone's got the same issue? Know how to make the option stick? Is this a network restriction?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just noticed a couple days ago that some of my sounds aren't working on my Droid X. Ringtones, alarms, notifications work. Audible touch tones, audible selection, keyboard typing and some other sounds in games are not working. Also, when rebooting the "droid" sound isn't playing (not sure if that was taken out with froyo.) About a week ago these sounds were all working so I know it wasn't the update that killed them. And yes I've looked and made sure that all the checks were selected for these sounds.
View 13 Replies View RelatedSo I ended up having to get a new Droid X shipped to me cause there was a problem with the screen and it was declared DOA. This new Droid X is working out great for the past couple of days. Now all of a sudden my ringtones are switching on and off and pinging like they don't exist on the SD card, but when I turn the phone off and remove the SD card and reinsert it back in everything's fine but then the "Droid" on/off noise is pinging now. It's the same issue I had with the originial phone, but that one was replaced because after the Froyo update I couldn't get any signal out of my house and Verizon concluded that I was close enough to a tower that I should be getting a minimum of like 3 or 4 bars. So my question is this. What is going on with my phone? I am currently operating on 2.2, I am not rooted. I have not messed with the essence of the phone, since I don't know that much about the software. I have not uploaded any apps that control or silence the phone and all my apps that were uploaded are the ones that I had on my prior phone with the screen issue, and they never caused this issue.
Here is the list of apps on my phone for those of you who would like to know: WordPress, AppBrain, AIM, Adobe Reader, NotePad, ColorPad, Pandora, DroidLight, Where's My Droid, Key Ring, Barcode Scanner, Urbanspoon, Jewels, The Schwartz Unsheathed, Angry Birds Beta, Astro, ChompSMS, Creature Pack Icon, Fancy Widget, and Smartshortcuts. So as you can see it's a very small list of things on my actual phone. I have used soundboards from the android market but that was only on my first phone and they were never ranked any lower than 4 and half stars. I don't download any apps below 4 stars. And I read all the comments as well, and there was nothing fishy or bad written about them. Sorry for the long post, just wanted to make sure I hit everything for you guys to be able to help me. I just don't want to go to Verizon if I don't have to cause they want to reset and send me home and it's a recurring issue if it's like my prior issue. I'm wondering if I have a bad SD card.Edit: Additionally I have the old phone with the screen issue and I had the new SD card that came with the phone, I popped it into the phone I'm currently using and powered it back on, and it's still pinged. I'm just not getting what the issue is cause everything was working fine the night before. All my ringtones were working and then I took it off of silent (the slide to silent from the lock screen, which I use since I haven't heard if the silent profile was fixed) and now everything is messed up sound wise.
When I get a gtalk or text I hear the notification sound and it vibrates just fine. When I open gtalk and answer the text, then I put the phone down for a second and I don't hear any more notifications. This drives me nuts because then I pick it up and I see the person replied a long time ago.
On my old blackberry curve. Every time I get a message it would make a sound. With the droid, if you are in gtalk. It wont make a sound so other then checking the phone or looking at the notification light. I don't know a message came in.
